I'm not sure, I have serious reservations about Lisa being a candidate... I mean, look at all of that hair. It must cost a fortune to keep it styled. On the other hand, one might say that being cartoon characters, they only have virtual hair and therefore require only minimal styling. Still. I need to really research this some more before I cast my vote. That, or perhaps I will just flip a coin.

Tonight on hardball, he had yet another right wing shill in there talking about how Plame wasn't even "undercover." 3 times this idiot said this, 3 times Matthews gives him a pass. All Matthews wants to talk about is how "inconsistent" the dems are for wanting Libby to serve time... yet how we want to give Clinton a free pass for his perjury. First, I think Clinton paid a huge price for his perjury. Second, let's not forget that Clinton's perjury concerned a cover-up about where his dick was on a particular evening. Libby's perjury was the centerpiece of an obstruction of justice that allowed Cheney, and possibly Bush, to escape the investigation of the start up of a war that has killed 3800 Americans and untold number of Iraqis (and lined the pockets of their cronies).
Matthews also lets it pass when this guy talks about how the Plame scandal is politically driven, how Pat Fitzgerald was an "over-zealous prosecutor..." blah blah blah. Matthews just sits there with his thumb up his ass. He only came alive again in order to talk about John Edwards' hair.

I agree that Lisa's hair is a bit wild to garner her mass appeal, but Mr. Burns would not make a much better candidate. His relations with Smithers would surely be brought into the light, and I highly doubt either of them want that kind of public scrutiny. Not to mention he already has made his millions, he wouldnt have a need to start unjust wars to boost his and his friends pocket books. Hell, other than Smithers, I dont even think he has any friends. (On a side note, anyone else sense a similarity in the Burns/Smithers relationship when compared Cheney/Bush? SCARY!!!)

Why get rid of the Federal Reserve??? The main reason the revolution war was fought was because King George didn't like the colonies printing debt free money up so he made them go thru England's central bank.
The Federal Reserve is the same thing. Congress has the power to print money but gave that power to a private bank headed by international bankers who print out our money and then charge our government % on every dollar it makes.

You definitely bring up some excellent points. However, many of today's real candidates have their own money as well and continue to pursue same in search of happiness. Mr. Burns is surely of that ilk. However, Smithers' lapdoggian presence reminds me a bit of the Jeff Gannon/Guckert episode in our nation's history and nothing really came of that ( so to speak).
I will consider Apu. I had not figured him in the mix, but would he be able to take on the opposition that will surely cast him in a somewhat ethnically challenged light?

Well, I don't understand the reason for the first one.
The second item is done. Been driving the electric powered car, an electric Ford Escort with well over 40,000 electric miles now. We have wind power through our utility and in the process of getting a 4 kW pv solar system installed on the house. So I guess Miss Kitty you could say the electric car is wind powered and soon will be solar powered.
I don't think the third item is gonna happen with the spineless crew that's in office now.

Restraint of competition in broadcast media has been the mechanism by which the government regulated FCC media has been managed to manipulate us into voting between two corporate financed and owned stooges. This drives up the price of mass communications, which meant that only corporate financed politicians could get their message out.

The copper loop was built during the monopoly years of telco local service. There were those who advocated a divestiture of the "last mile" of copper loop from the Bells, that could be utilized by a number of companies to provide competition for internet access. That was foiled, and now competition on the copper loop is severely reduced, and subject to price points established by the Bells. Telco and cable ownership has been consolidate among a few companies, and we are stuck with a duopoly between telco and cable, with the bundling of high-speed internet with an unwanted product (telephone or television) to avoid a price gouge for internet services.
Now the politicians want to eliminate net neutrality in order to increase the costs of mass communications, so that multi-nationals corporations can retain the disproportionate influence on forming opinions in this country.
We have to start thinking about not only trying to preserve the internet, but looking to alternatives, such as a peer-to-peer wireless internet. So long as a duopoly of cable and telco control the internet, with the government's blessing, they are going to start controlling the content, by the same mechanism used in television, restraint of competition to drive up prices. In the case of the internet, a competitive infrastructure, such as wireless may be necessary.

Chip, the Federal Reserve is a private firm that prints up all of our money and then charges us interest for it.
Congress already haD the power to print money via the treasury department but with the birth of the Federal Reserve in 1913, that power was given away to international bankers who profit from this.
Much of our tax money goes to just pay the interest from what the Fed charges for printing the money, this money goes directly into the international bankers pockets.

Interestingly enough, I've read in the Dallas Morning Nudes that nearly as many US soldiers have deserted as died. The number given is a approximately 3,000 desertions. Only about 1% have been prosecuted. No one seems interested in pursuing prosecutions.
