Keith Olbermann is recovering from emergency surgery to remove his appendix. The surgery occured late Friday.

Will, sticking it's head into a blender is too good for it. I'd advise pouring honey over it, tethering it to an anthill full of red ants, in 120 degree heat in the Mojave Dessert for that remark regarding KO.
And, he'll be back on the air on Wednesday. I just hope it isn't too soon after his surgery, but then again, the marvels of modern medicine and all that.

On the contrary Bercebu....you can die from complications and if its not detected and bursts before being removed, this has also lead to death.
Mine was gangrenous (my apologies for those who haven't eaten yet) and burst while it was being removed....complications followed and I'm still healing...
Hopefully Keith didn't have any complications and won't experience any while he is healing.

Not if it burst and there is infection. It can be quite serious. I had mine out right as it was bursting (extremely painful), so they thankfully caught it in time and I was back on my feet in 3 days. I know someone who's appendix burst and he developed an infection. Was in the hospital for almost three weeks with bouts of 104 fever and vomiting. Lost about 20 pounds and looked like sh*t when he got home. The infection can kill you if the sepsis spreads into the blood stream.
So, Countdown will actually be watchable for a few days?

I honestly have trouble telling if people are kidding or not these days. When you try to say something so outrageous that it's obviously a joke, it just sounds like something you'd hear on fox.
KO's interview in this month's Playboy was quite good.
I understand that John Stossel is already working on a documentary about how Olbermann would have waited six months for treatment in Canada.
First, get well soon Keith. You are "a voice in the wilderness" on the MSM.
Second, I find many people on the right just plain sick. The comments by some on here rejoicing at Keith's troubles are simply incredible. I agree with an earlier poster that when snowjob had his cancer problems I saw nothing on the left the would compare. That's not to say there was nothing, just that I saw none. This seems to be what defines the right. They want all those on the left to simply die. It's just sad. And shows once again that there is no way to compramise with the right. For them it's "my way or the highway."

Geez. I went through this in college. My appendix burst just before they started cutting on me. I got blood poisoning and almost died. So this is scary.

I had an emergency appendectomy when I was 23. I didn't know what was going on all I knew was it looked like I was going to die and felt like it as well. Turns out the doctor told me I was about 15 minutes away from having it burst.
I hope Keith has a fast recovery. I know it's not fun to go through.

A Shout out to Keith to mend quickly. My mom's burst when she was a girl in the 30's and they lived way out in the boonies in a one doctor town miles away. My point? Medical care has come a long way and she survived so I hope this cheers you up. Best Wishes.

I discovered Keith and Countdown a bit over 2 1/2 years ago on XM Radio (no longer there or on Sirius). It's the one network program I watch without fail. As much as I like Allison Stewart, when Keith is not on, there is no "Worse Person in the World". There is only one Keith Olbermann and I am very happy his show is growing in popularity and I was very chagrined to hear of his health issues. Get well soon, Keith!
Allison is doing a fine job in your absence, Keith, but you're sorely missed, especially with what's been going on in Washington since your hospitalization. Heard your recovery was going well, and I'm happy to hear it. I am just amazed at the ugliness that can rejoice over ANYONE's illness, no matter what their political persuasion. That being said, recover quickly, KO, we need your voice of truth in this ugly media wilderness of faint-heartedness. (Whatever happened to the courageous, determined spirit that inspired the Watergate investigations?)
