What happened to the "Pearls or Diamonds" question?

Not sure why anyone would answer this question truthfully. It has been the goal of just about every president after Wasthington, to become more powerful than the last. They all, until this one, followed a certain decorum about their power grabs. So why would any future president willingly give up the unlimited, untested, unapproved powers that darth cheney has stolen from the other two branches?

On the other hands... If you think about it for about 10 seconds, you'll realize the position of President isn't any more powerful today than it was 8 years ago. It just seems that way because this "president" has never been pushed or challenged by the other two branches. For a system of checks and balances to work, all the pieces of that self regulating system have to willingly participate. It's not like anything that chimpy has done is legal. All the laws he broke can still land his ass in prison for a very long time, or even in a Texas neck tie in Den Hague. A law only has force as long as the legal system is willing to ENFORCE it.

I'm grateful for the internet. Just imagine the MSM being the only info tube we would get. And believe or not(to some of you younguns) that was the way it used to be.

I am also grateful that I was a child of the 60's and 70's. I grew up being wary of the Government.

When I was young my mother had a world atlas/gazeteer, printed circa 1920, that actually showed a few portions of the world as unexplored. As I aged and those places disappeared much of the mystery and freshness of life left as well. Today, as we crowd each other to the edges, and world places offer no mystery, I'm THANKFUL that there is among us bold, intelligent people that look beyond for the next "unexplored" challenges. I'm also THANKFUL, along with Kentucky Hillbilly, for Crooks and Liars and the opportunity that John Amato provides to slap those assholes down that would rather have us live in fear rather than hope.

The latest Church scandal has the Pope transmitting an STD to one of his illegitimate sons.

They are making another joke out of something so very important and serious to the candidates as well as the American people.

People all over the world are watching this as they have been for the last seven plus years of these criminals making a complete ass out of what was once the greatest country in the world.

We need to blast our candidates and demand they not go on any of these networks for debates except C-Spain and demand they get the women’s league or some independent bodies to present the questions to them. Make sure that democrats are the people conducting the debates.

If these right wing thugs want to run debates, let them run the republicans because they sure as hell are not allowing the democrats to present questions to those bastards.

After the debates is even more discouraging, when they set up their round table session of right wing idiots, to demonize, criticize and ignore our candidates as well as promote the one they are trying to push in our face. It is simply unfair and it is wrong and they know it.

This is just the beginning of what we have to look forward to in the 2008 election folks as our night mare is only just beginning, especially if they are somehow able to push their choice of a candidate through. It is going to be hell.
