They canceled The Golden Globes. I really hope they give the writer's their rights b/c Jon Stewart needs his writers. Stephen Colbert is pretty funny but could use them as well of course.
Poor guy, I really feel for him but I could have told him he was wasting his time with Mitt the Twit, and those other Pugs. There aren't enough people needing the weed to give a crap about it, sorry to say!
I was watching that idiot Glenn Beck tonight for about ten minutes and I just can't understand who watches or listens to this complete idiot. I mean say what you want about a lot of media personalities, but I don't think anyone is that bad. He's just plain dumb. I really don't understand his audience. Who bought that idiots book to make it a best seller?
Wow, I never really watched it before and am just shocked at how bad he is. And it's not just his views. Even if he was a liberal I would be thinking the same thing.

What a dolt
Plus he thinks he's funny and gets his "cute" dimpled grin on that makes you want to put your foot through the TV and straight up his rectum.
Man Legalize Hemp. The uses of it are numerous. Geez. What is wrong with this country. Paper, Fuel, etc etc. Damn.
And getting high, fer chrissake. I never had any trouble getting the ultrafabulous morphine for pain-the whole point there is to make you so flippin high that you disassociate from pain. A TRUE class A NARCOTIC.
And alcohol? Jesus.. WTF is alcohol all about? Disassociation, and in a purely recreational manner.
These dumb fucks are still believing the words of that lying asswipe Harry Anslinger, bringing misery and enriching criminals since the 30s, with the help of the US Govt. I hope you are roasting in hell, Anslinger.

Wasn't Anslinger going to be put out of work when alcohol prohibition was repealed? Yeah, that's a good idea - start another prohibition and throw hundreds of thousands of people in jail to keep one asshole from being unemployed.
The bit in general was funny, but their comments to the kid in the wheelchair when he was obviously not amused by them were about as tactless as Mittshit's.

No post yet on Clinton getting no votes in New Hampshire's first?
I smoke weed once and a while and it really isn't a big deal. I usually just get quiet - eat - watch tv - watch videos online. If I go out I'll just kind of become very goofy or aloof. I just don't understand how this is a risk for anyone. If anything it just makes you passive and quiet. Alcohol makes you aggressive. And pot is good for capitalism because you are more agreeable. Go to the store high and you'll buy every little goddamn thing that catches your eye. I went to the mall and bought a 75 dollar pair of jeans high - which I would never normally do.
So, where is the risk? Who looses out if marijuana is legalized? Fewer people in prison. Fewer police needed. Fewer border agents needed. Seems like it would be win, win, win for everyone.
I really don't understand the problem with making marijuana regulated and for sale at the grocery store or the gas station.
I just think it is nice that CURRENT is embracing what our Young can do...
and that Al Gore helped make that happen....
NOW...on another note- I too was disturbed with the interactions with the MS patient....not cool...) No21 said "tactless"- that is true...
I've mentioned before how ridiculous it is that Iowa and New Hampshire garner such importance in the presidential race. Over here in Michigan, there's really no point in taking part in the Dem primary unless you're a Hilary supporter. It's insane. Really, what's the point? Anyone know how that fits into the "No taxation without representation" rules?
I guess after 7 years in office with a rubberstamp republican congress most of that time blaming Clinton for a "inherited recession" ain't going to fly anymore.
It’s funny: Republicans think they're the “God Party” yet they’re all against marijuana. Isn’t marijuana nothing more than a plant created by God? How could it be bad if God created it? Are they saying God made a mistake? I quit smoking it about 20 years ago but this issue is another example of Republican hypocrisy!

He had Muscular Dystrophy. Multiple Scerosis is a different neurological disease, usually showing up in adulthood. MD is a lifetime disease. And he got his point across and publicised. I think it was OK. People in chairs don't need to be treated with kid gloves. In fact, all of the ones I know would like to be treated as you treat anyone else. Looked in the eye, spoken to like an adult, joked with, yadda yadda yadda.
And I thought, before I realised it was you, enigma, that your mention of Gore was meant to be a nasty crack. Then I went "D'oh! Gotta get me a new stash..."

Tactless? What should they talk to him extra slowly in baby talk nice words? He's a fucking person.
An obviously intelligent person who can speak for himself, defend himself and--yes--take a joke.
It's been proven--people in wheelchairs still can enjoy humor. It's assholes who treat them like some kind of glass unicorns that don't get it.

Is it possible that he was in on the joke? I think so.
fuck mitt romney and his creepy robot-offspring that invade fox news all the time.
You watch Fox? I'm so sorry. Now I guess I know why everyone is clamoring for medical marijuana. ;)

See the incredible self-replicating unisex robots creations of Mitt Romney!!!!
battle
The Huckabee clan of deadly, astounding dog-stranglers from deep down South!!!!
That was shameful. What cripple in a wheel chair would Jesus run away from? What do you expect from a compassionate conservative who would tie his dog to the roof of a car for a 10 hour drive from Boston to Orlando down an interstate till he crapped down the back window. Mitt thought he had a great photo op, maybe this cripple kid in a wheel chair as Romney rushed over with cameras on him would say he loved Jesus Christ and Mitt Romney? Didn't turn out that way did it Mittens? As it were the kid showed the cold heartedness of a true conservative son of bitch. Romney is the poster child for what it means to be a Republican today: Rich, cowardly and heartless. The first portion of should be used in a campaign ad against Romney.
Romney's excuse for animal abuse? His dog likes fresh air and PETA's after him! I like fresh air too but being strapped in a kennel for 12 hours on an interstate going 70mph until I crap down the back window is not my idea of how I would like to get my fresh air. Maybe Romney would like to try it? Sorry bastard.

Wow, almost 50 comments so far and no Paulistas here to post his response to Clayton's question.
Well, I guess I'll oblige because Paul gives the most cogent answer that I've heard from a politician this side of SF.
I felt moved like the first time I watched the movie "Hair"! Really!
Since Voltaire times and even long before that, with the Greek satirists, art has shown its effectiveness in ridiculing those who deserve it.
Good work!
I'm sorry but I can't get on the Obama bus. Obama's voting record only reflects more of the same than anything that resembles "change". I'm sorry but this is just fact. What has he done? I haven't seen it.
This is serious times and we can't vote based on rockstar status. Hillary clearly has what it takes to play the chess game called Diplomacy. She is familiar with the turf and we know she can work it with tons of powerful support on her side - this is very important to us. Edwards has the best domestic answer and the rewards we can benefit from Edwards can be exponential. Guys, stop chanting Obama and let the discourse continue. These hopefuls have a long list of questions that need to be answered with us. This has only started. Think about Ron Paul also. The Pharmaceutical and Weapon industry have much to worry about when it comes to Ron Paul, enough for them to lay money down to make sure of it. I'm very sorry about Dodd, he was the only PROVEN candidate that didn't just talk the talk.
There is a lot more we need to see from all these candidates! I don't think we can afford to f it up this round. If we don't get what we need at this moment, the cookie just might crumble.
Who is going to end this war? Obama? I doubt it. What's his voting record in regards to Iraq? Doesn't look like change.
Dangerous? I don't know... I've seen a lot of people drive high. It ain't pretty. I suppose it's a lot harder to OD if you say home though, than hard alcohol. Just not my personal choice of vice I guess; the more for the rest of you. You go from sloth to anxiety and smell like a skunk (or in my case just to anxiety). Coffee suits me just fine if that's what I want. :)
But nothing beats a good yearly (ok, twice yearly) ale drunk for me!
Mitt Romney, doesn't care, about weed people. Why does the way he treated this man remind me of this picture? Yeesh. Gives me the willies every time I look at Bush doing that.

Did anyone catch the recent 60 minutes piece on MMJ, and if so what did you think?
C'mon, what a cop out. RP has a problem with the federal government prosecuting marijuana but conveniently ignores state prohibition. Ron Paul in a nutshell: Oppression by the Federal government=bad; Federal controls on oppression by corporations or the states=very bad; oppression by state government or corporate monopolies=freedom.
Ron Paul libertarianism = all the corporate benefits of conservatism with the illusion of personal freedom.
A Former mayor of my city while still city on the city council opposed the opening of medical marajuana shops. Obviously for political reasons. This despite Californians voter mandate to make the sale of Medical Marljuana legal. Karma struck and not a year later he was dianosed with terminal cancer. So was his wife. They both died within the year. I can bet you they both used the herb while undergoing chemo...but they had to break the law to do it, and they had to have loved ones put thierselves at legal peril to help them do so.
BTW, more than a little disappointed that interesting (finally) substantive discussions of American democracy were just yanked out of the Ron Paul threads. If it is bandwidth or something, a nicer way to do things is give us a heads up first so we don't waste our time in a discussion.
In any case, one begins to wonder when the fluff or "go, our guy, go" posts are the only that remain, yet a discussion about forming a consensus about how much of a role the central government should play in media ownership or election "equal time" is yanked? Very topical, and more topical than one line snark or insults that prevail in most threads. Sadly, there aren't many places for two disparate viewpoints to come together and discuss such ideas. As a political opinion blog (with the known "no 911 truthers" etc rules aside) I thought this was one.
Frustratingly we just got to real substantive part of the conversation, IMHO. I think even the Ron Paul supporters would agree. It won't be repeated by me, because I simply don't have the time to repeat the effort. It's not that I think my voice is all that important, exactly, but "meeting the minds" with others and have real thought go into considering each other's position IS important in my view.
Electrons are cheap, C&L. The posts should not have been deleted.
So we can all stay locked in our "rah, rah, my guy is better" one liners from now on.
The irony of that deletion, on the very thread of the exclusion of Ron Paul from the (much hated on this site) FOX debates...
I think we need no additional proof that this man is as plastic as they come (no disrespect intended for plastic). Ice-water runs in those veins, and he can't hide it.

One of the best things I ever saw on the internets was a copy of a letter sent out by the City of San Francisco warning clinics that an ounce is not 28 grams, but 28.35 grams. No kidding, a government order to "beef up your bags".

I have to apologize. My brother (who for some reason became divorced from reality at about the same time his wife divorced him) asked for the Beck book for Christmas. I think it was some kind of test of how much I love him or something, but I bit the bullet and bought it for him. I looked all over for a used copy, but it hasn't been out that long. I know the money goes to terrible people, but I thought if my brother actually reads it, he might be disuaded from the positions. I read a few pages, it really is that bad.
I also bought him a calender from the Sierra Club.

That must be it, but it doesn't happen with other clips.
I saw a Bill O'Reilly ad in the sidebar at C&L, and it scared the crap out of me to see his floating head. I thought I accidentally surfed to a republican site. It was a very sickening feeling.
Don't apologize. Glenn Beck is a monster; you're just a good brother. Was that calender on hemp paper?
Lollimom @ 62:
Next time you inadvertently end up at that site, remember that medical marijuana works on nausea (although for BillO multiple doses of indica may be required). I'd give a link, but either Firefox or the NSA is blocking me :) .

Perhaps I'm biased because California has the initiative process, but if South Carolina or some other state votes to continue cannabis prohibition, then that is their choice, fucked up as it may be.
If smoking dope helps, do it. If the state or the federal government doesn't like it, fuck 'em. If they want to arrest and jail you, that means that not only do they have to house and feed you, they have to assume the burden of providing you all of your medical care. They start arresting and jailing enough people, they'll decide that it's too expensive, and too muvch like that evil socialized medicine.
If the government can tolerate and hold a serial mass-murderer as a hero-president, it's pretty silly and hypocritical of them to enforce marijuana laws. Or any other laws for, that matter. Their tolerance of arch criminals in high government positions makes a mockery of the entire concept of law enforcement.

No. If you want South Carolina (or any other state) to have the power to control what goes into my body, then amend the Constitution - just like they did for Prohibition. Until then, please don't pretend that state's rights means freedom; it doesn't. (I'm not saying you say that equilibrio, but Ron Paul does).
States' rights has meant slavery, voter disenfranchisement, chain gangs, ridiculous accents combined with missing teeth, women who won't love me for my ridiculous accent and missing teeth, thin crust pizza with poorly spaced sausage, personal seat licenses, those who drive slow in the left lane, dentists, muave, those who can correctly pronounce muave, pre-owned vehicles, ear mites, florescent lights, Celine Dion, Mr. Celine Dion, the $1.50/gallon gasoline tax (paid straight to Exxon/Mobile et al in recognition of our "freedom"), athletes' foot, fingernails raked across a blackboard, toe-jam... I'm sorry, where was I? Oh...
Until [l]ibertarians recognize that state government can be tyrannical and that corporate monopolies can be tyrannical, they will function the same as the Right's other fundamentalist tools singing songs of freedom as they put on the cuffs.

With over two million Americans in jail and over half of them convicted of non violent drug offenses i am afraid your advice is a bit late. The chances of being raped or assaulted or killed far out weigh the "benefits" of being held in a violent, noisy, psycologically debilitating environment for several years while being under fed and less likely to recieve any medical attention whatsoever even if you have cancer than the average Sri Lankin.
829,627 Americans were arrested for smoking pot last year.
Romney also brags about denying pardons, although he doesn't mention he's denied a highly-deserving war vets. Romney cares about his image, and your life and issue can go to hell.
The key factor for me is just what the guy says: they ignore the consequences of their policies. That's true of most conservative policies, from abstinence-only sex ed to pre-emptive war.
As for pot crimes, I defer to Xoites for the stats (thanks!) but mandatory minimum sentences have been awful. Violent criminals have often been freed to make room for non-violent drug possession offenders. Eric Schlosser had a good series on it called "Reefer Madness" in The Atlantic, and he later turned into a book.
Wow. It seems I've been permanently banned without any explanation, and my posts removed, rather than at least just having the Sitemonitor explain! I'm not sure I've even been censored before -- suddenly this?
Not very cool. I've been here for years (though under a different name when the comments were haloscan before swarmofkillermonkeys). Not that that means much but considering you won't whatever is wrong to ME, and won't let ME explain that I'm leaving the community to others...
What is your problem with me, exactly? And why not just tell me instead of erasing anything I post now?
Thanks curti -- Yeah, me too. Although I wish I would have heard myself about it instead of just thinking the server was eating my last 3 "see y'all in a while" posts.
Then I just got a "you are banned" warning. Weird. Why all the covert stuff in just having [swarmofkillermonkeys banned.] in the thread so at least people know that? Inluding me?
A little explanation (or any) would have gone a long way and saved us all a lot of time, is all I'm trying to say.
Anyway, I'm not trying to stalk or harrass the community or anything, I'll go away peacefully, but am quite confused by the sudden, silent hate.
There really is enough of that in this world already.
Very few people look at the other side of electing Obama.
As a nation, what would be in store for us if he were to be assassinated? I would venture to say that there would be national race riots. If this would happen before Bush and Cheney are relieved of duty...Look Out!
What happens when a nation is out of control?
1. Suspension of the Constitution
2. Police state
3. Loss of Habeas Corpus (didn't we lose that already?)
I am choosing to vote for ideology and not for celebrated people.

We're in big trouble if even half of what Sibel Edmonds says is true...(you'll see some familiar PNAC names in here)
"Sibel Edmonds, a former translator for the FBI who listened in on hundreds of telephone intercepts and has now told the London Times that several top U.S. government officials conspired with foreign agents to steal U.S. nuclear secrets and sell them on the black market.
'He was aiding foreign operatives against U.S. interests by passing them highly classified information, not only from the State Department but also from the Pentagon, in exchange for money, position and political objectives.'
She claims that the FBI was also gathering evidence against senior Pentagon officials – including household names – who were aiding foreign agents. 'If you made public all the information that the FBI have on this case, you will see very high-level people going through criminal trials,' she said.
As Edmonds says, "we have the facts, we have the documents, we have the witnesses. Put out the tapes, put out the documents, put out the intercepts – put out the truth.
If a nuke ever goes off in an American city, it will probably have been stolen from our own arsenal – once the American people wake up to that scary fact, the rest will follow automatically."
U.S. officials helped Pak steal nuke secrets: Report - http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/US_officials_helped_Pak_steal_nuke_se...
Senior US officials have helped Pakistan and other states to steal nuclear weapons secrets, a whistlebloweer has claimed.
Intercepted communications showed former ISI chief Mahmoud Ahmad and his colleagues stationed in Washington were in constant contact with attaches in the Turkish embassy, according to The Sunday Times.
Intelligence analysts said that members of the ISI were close to al-Qaeda before and after the 9/11 attacks on the US. Ahmad was accused of sanctioning a 100,000 dollars wire payment to Mohammed Atta, one of the 9/11 hijackers, immediately before the attacks, the report said.
Strait Of Hormuz Incident: This Time, Let's Be Sure We Know What Really Happened - http://manifestojoestexasblues.blogspot.com/2008/01/strait-of-hormuz-inc...
"I am part of a generation that woke up one day, around 19 years old, and heard that the Vietnam War was actually over. It hit me that I could barely remember a time when there hadn't been a Vietnam War -- it had seemed so permanent. This is one of the reasons that the breaking news about the reported incident in the Strait of Hormuz evokes specters of the '60s and early '70s. The early reports sound ominously like the first accounts of the 1964 Gulf of Tonkin incident."

The unemployment report on Friday was brutally bad. Unemployment rose in December, while job creation was minimal - and it’s highly likely, for technical reasons, that the job number will be revised down, showing an actual decline in employment. It’s the latest piece of bad news about an economy in which the employment situation has actually been deteriorating for the past year.

Kucinch Excluded From ABC Debate. Free Speech Expelled From Elections - http://www.bethink.org/showDiary.do?diaryId=737
Why does ABC [and Fox] think they know better than the electorate? Might they have an agenda to elect only certain predetermined, “safe” candidates. The powers that be want to mold what “we the people” think. Why else would ABC Network decide to bar a viable Presidential contender from their debate? Could it be his ideas threaten them?
The Tyranny of Super-Delegates - http://www.thenation.com/blogs/edcut?pid=266130
The Democratic Party uses an antiquated and anti-democratic nominating system that includes 842 "super-delegates" – un-pledged party leaders not chosen by the voters, free to support the candidate of their choice, and who comprise more than forty percent of the delegates needed to win the nomination.

Linda Milazzo: Ante Up For John Edwards!! - http://smirkingchimp.com/thread/11929
For Progressives who deal with a Congress immune to reason, public sentiment and the Constitution, the difficult fight is clear. Corporate favors, earmarks, and unlimited terms have perverted electeds. They're buoyed by infallibility and self-importance. They're stalled in Larry Craig's immutable wide-stance.
They're partners in the greed Edwards speaks of. These are not surface problems. They are multi-layered. They transcend industry and geography. They're endemic to farms, homes, banks, prisons, realty, energy, education, trade - EVERYTHING! To bail out America from the grip of these deviates will take more than charisma.
It will take grit. That's not to say Obama can't fight. It's just not certain that he will.

Telecom Immunity Gives Bush Immunity - http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2008/1/6/215233/4358/367/428825
The FISA plot thickens: The Bushies have banned most senators from reading documents that offer legal grounds for warrantless surveillance. Bush wants to keep senators clueless because telecom immunity also gives Bush immunity.
Telecom immunity by definition includes the approval of the claim that Bush had constitutional authority for warrantless surveillance and the surveillance was determined to be lawful. It would also lend support to Bush's unitary executive theory.

I'm in awe at this video. I wish every voter could see it.
Although I am not cruel by nature, I believe if I had the chance I could personally vivisect this plastic prick Mitt Romney to see if physically he is an actual homo sapien.
People who think that legalized marijuana, abortion, gay rights, .. etc. etc... - any issue that deals with individual freedom - should be left to the states, obviously aren't living in a state that is full of people chomping at the bit to have the legislatures control and outlaw every little thing that they think is "sinful".
Please, have a little compassion for the rest of us .... we can't all just move to your state.
This is great (and the production values are fabulous, no amateur work here). Does it remind you of the Capitol Steps, but with sass? Has this group done other videos in this vein?
There is nothing--NOTHING--that hurts Willard (aka Mitt the Twit) more than ridicule.
Where is the video of him asking Kucinich about medical marijuana. I believe Kucinich is the only candidate that supports the decriminalization of marijuana. Another reason in the long list of why we all should be supporting him. Wake up America. Get Kucinich into the White House.
The bit in general was funny, but their comments to the kid in the wheelchair when he was obviously not amused by them were about as tactless as Mittshit's.
Well, the other point of this spot (aside from skewering Romney) was a vicious jab at the media. To that end, the insensitivity was pretty spot-on.
We can't have medical marijuana because it would interfere with profits from the legal poisons being pushed by US pharmaceutical companies (with the blessing of the FDA).
.... Perhaps I'm biased because California has the initiative process, but if South Carolina or some other state votes to continue cannabis prohibition, then that is their choice, fucked up as it may be.

Um... I think there is a bit of miscommunication here. What I meant in my post was if SC or any state like it, wanted to continue cannabis prohibition in their state, then that would be their choice, fucked up as it may be.
I think it sucks that I can't get a cold beer at the convenience store when I'm in Utah, like I can in Cali, but if that's how they roll with alcohol, and they've voted to have it that way, then as a Californian, I don't think I should tell them that they have to serve beer cold.
I think it infringes on my rights that I'm not allowed to pump my own gas in Oregon, but if that's how the Oregonians want to create jobs, then let them, as long as I can vote for California to allow self serve.
It's interesting that you criticize Paul's stance, yet basically say the same thing when you write
If you want South Carolina (or any other state) to have the power to control what goes into my body, then amend the Constitution - just like they did for Prohibition.
which I agree with. Anything less than calling out the UnConstitutionality of cannabis prohibition is what's a cop out.
While I agree, that "States rights" has in the past, opened the door for corruption and oppression, so has "Federal rights," in the form of illegal wars, empire building, and the prohibition of cannabis and other entheogens.
Government, whether large or small, local or distant, always struggles with representing the people, or ruling the people.
God what a fucking dick!! This proves that republicans are nothing more than dispassionate assholes. 'God' creates the cannabis plant and His self-righteous prick supposed followers treat His creation as if it was evil. Makes sense to me.

this is fantastic... keep em coming!
fuck mitt romney and his creepy robot-offspring that invade fox news all the time.
What a dolt
So much for compassionate conservatism.
As if it ever existed in the first place.
IOW, Mitt's perfect for them.
Yeah thats the stuff.Pound that platitudinous putz.

Man Legalize Hemp. The uses of it are numerous. Geez. What is wrong with this country. Paper, Fuel, etc etc. Damn.
This was great fun! (Yes, I feel for the people who need medical marijuana too, but I can't stop laughing at the silly songs and dancing.)

I hope you are roasting in hell, Anslinger.
enigma4ever @ 15:
And...?
No post yet on Clinton getting no votes in New Hampshire's first?
Ahhhhh. My faith in America's youth is restored. That was AWESOME.
miss_kitty @ 16:
I'll second that! Well said.
Were those shots of Romney jogging and sledding real?
miss_kitty @ 16:
Wasn't Anslinger going to be put out of work when alcohol prohibition was repealed? Yeah, that's a good idea - start another prohibition and throw hundreds of thousands of people in jail to keep one asshole from being unemployed.
The bit in general was funny, but their comments to the kid in the wheelchair when he was obviously not amused by them were about as tactless as Mittshit's.
miss_kitty @ 16:
Clay @ 18:
I really don't understand the problem with making marijuana regulated and for sale at the grocery store or the gas station.
make marijuana legal and fascism illegal.
I just think it is nice that CURRENT is embracing what our Young can do...
and that Al Gore helped make that happen....
NOW...on another note- I too was disturbed with the interactions with the MS patient....not cool...) No21 said "tactless"- that is true...
( the idea itself is really interesting)
I've mentioned before how ridiculous it is that Iowa and New Hampshire garner such importance in the presidential race. Over here in Michigan, there's really no point in taking part in the Dem primary unless you're a Hilary supporter. It's insane. Really, what's the point? Anyone know how that fits into the "No taxation without representation" rules?
sure marijuana should be legal
it just makes you either quiet or goofy
alcohol is more dangerous
Bush admits (finally) economy faces "challenges" http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/08/business/08bush.html?_r=1&hp&oref=slogin

Nice!

Romney look like a Bratz doll.
Please, please, please make a shortened version featuring the Mitt speaking with the man in the wheelchair.

The United States is deep in its worst housing slump since the Great Depression, and according to a new report, it's not going to get better any time soon. The Pentagon tries the old Gulf of Tonkin trick on Iran.

Did anyone catch the recent 60 minutes piece on MMJ, and if so what did you think?
Doesn't look like change.
budda @ 28:
Yeesh. Gives me the willies every time I look at Bush doing that.
equilibrio @ 51:
Oh well. 'Night.
Run, Mitt, Run.
I think we need no additional proof that this man is as plastic as they come (no disrespect intended for plastic). Ice-water runs in those veins, and he can't hide it.
(OT: Did anybody else experience a problem even seeing this clip in their browser? It would not even show up in my Firefox or IE, but it did show up in my Netscape...)

I also bought him a calender from the Sierra Club.
fiver @ 60:
That must be it, but it doesn't happen with other clips.
I saw a Bill O'Reilly ad in the sidebar at C&L, and it scared the crap out of me to see his floating head. I thought I accidentally surfed to a republican site. It was a very sickening feeling.
Old Billy @ 61:
Don't apologize. Glenn Beck is a monster; you're just a good brother. Was that calender on hemp paper?
Lollimom @ 62:
Next time you inadvertently end up at that site, remember that medical marijuana works on nausea (although for BillO multiple doses of indica may be required). I'd give a link, but either Firefox or the NSA is blocking me :) .

Perhaps I'm biased because California has the initiative process, but if South Carolina or some other state votes to continue cannabis prohibition, then that is their choice, fucked up as it may be.
Pot should be a state issue.
Their tolerance of arch criminals in high government positions makes a mockery of the entire concept of law enforcement.
equilibrio @ 64:

If you have not read it i highly recomend Drug Crazy.
Paul @ 66:
With over two million Americans in jail and over half of them convicted of non violent drug offenses i am afraid your advice is a bit late. The chances of being raped or assaulted or killed far out weigh the "benefits" of being held in a violent, noisy, psycologically debilitating environment for several years while being under fed and less likely to recieve any medical attention whatsoever even if you have cancer than the average Sri Lankin.
829,627 Americans were arrested for smoking pot last year.
If I haven't said it recently, xoites, you rock. Oh and was "Drug Crazy" a link or just advice?
Good piece!
Batocchio @ 71:

Sorry to hear about your being banned man.
Thank goodness, this shallow empty suit is soon gone. What a cold-blooded moron!

Once Every Four Years, That Urban Oasis of Dixville Notch, New Hampshire, Gets Its Ten Seconds of Fame by Voting First: "Sen. Barack Obama won seven of the 10 votes cast for Democrats in the first balloting of the New Hampshire primary on Tuesday in the northern hamlet of Dixville Notch, while Sen. John McCain won the Republican balloting."

Like Mondale in 1984, Clinton is configuring her campaign to win in states where independents cannot vote. "Clinton got killed among independents and those few Republicans who crossed over," an Iowa operative noted about last Thursday's caucuses.

From Hype to Fear: Paul Krugman - http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/07/opinion/07krugman.html?_r=2&ref=opinio...

That is some of the most excellent political theater EVAH
This is great (and the production values are fabulous, no amateur work here). Does it remind you of the Capitol Steps, but with sass? Has this group done other videos in this vein?

Where is the video of him asking Kucinich about medical marijuana. I believe Kucinich is the only candidate that supports the decriminalization of marijuana. Another reason in the long list of why we all should be supporting him. Wake up America. Get Kucinich into the White House.

It's interesting that you criticize Paul's stance, yet basically say the same thing when you write
which I agree with.
How dare that crippled peasant fellow embarrass His Royal Mammon (not to be confused with Mormon) Ass during a photo-op?
God what a fucking dick!! This proves that republicans are nothing more than dispassionate assholes. 'God' creates the cannabis plant and His self-righteous prick supposed followers treat His creation as if it was evil. Makes sense to me.
Hi-larious.
Who is this Cobb person? Great vid.
Good concept. Pretty funny. The singing sucks. So does Romney. Excuse me; I have to go take a Mitt.
And these are the people who believe themselves the brave defenders against terrorists? Can't even face some emaciated crippled guy in a wheelchair??
