I haven't spent any time on my brackets today. I'm just not feeling it this year.
Why are we wasting time and space about hate crimes when we should be talking about Obama's middle name, lack of flag pin wearing, and his former minister?!
If only we could put up "No Stupid Statements By George Bush in ___ Days" signs...but alas..they would be obsolete before completed.

The site democrats.com is sponsoring a fax-in to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the war in Iraq.
The idea is to fax an anti-Iraq war message to the sender's rep and Senators. The bigger the participation, the bigger the effect.

Obama: We are "probably" in a recession? Probably? Greenspan said it was the worst financial crisis since WWII, the housing market is probably at its worst since the great depression and getting worse. Bear Sterns has collapsed, markets in free fall, record budget deficits, dollar in free fall...
Don't be timid Barrack, call it for what it is. A "recession". If there were a Democrat in the Oval Office the Republicans would have called it a a recession long ago - especially in an election year Republicans would have called it for what it was for maximum political gain if for no other reason.

I heard some reich-winger on Sirius this morning claiming Americans should be prepared for recessions and times of economic crisis.....of course, they should only be prepared when a reich-wing sits in the WH. If a Dem is sitting in the WH, they should be tar, feathers, and impeached.

Don't you just hate those ads by the coal lobby (the ones from "Americans for Balanced Energy Choices" they kept playing during the Presidential debates)? I do, so I decided to do something about it. I took the commercial from the coal lobby and remade it -- stripping out their lies and replacing them with facts about the dangers of coal and the benefits of solar, wind, and geothermal power. I think you'll get a laugh out of it (or at least a big smile). You can check out my video here:

Accounts by military members and the press are all all over the Internet. Not one word by anyone even mentions any incident ever occurring. They were all on Eagle base in Bosnia at Christmastime as part of a moral boosting tour because Clinton extended their deployments
When the guys on the ground have a different story than Mrs. Wanna-be Commander -and the photos to prove it, then you know the storyteller' was likely in some cushy spot -but needs a good fake war story to tell the kids -and the voters..

Perhaps what you cite is an argument for having closed primaries as we do here in Oklahoma. If you're a Democrat, you can only vote in a Democratic primary and not the Republick party, and vice-versa. It's Dems 4 Dems, and Republicks for Republicks, and no one registered as independent can vote unless there is an official Independent party on the ballot.

O.K., here it comes: The unthinkable is about to become the inevitable.
Last week, Robert Rubin, the former Treasury secretary, and John Lipsky, a top official at the International Monetary Fund, both suggested that public funds might be needed to rescue the U.S. financial system. Mr. Lipsky insisted that he wasn’t talking about a bailout. But he was.
It’s true that Henry Paulson, the current Treasury secretary, still says that any proposal to use taxpayers’ money to help resolve the crisis is a “non-starter.” But that’s about as credible as all of his previous pronouncements on the financial situation.
So here’s the question we really should be asking: When the feds do bail out the financial system, what will they do to ensure that they aren’t also bailing out the people who got us into this mess?

Lieberman to Attend GOP Convention
In a Friday interview with the Stamford Advocate, Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) — one of Sen. John McCain’s (R-AZ) foreign policy advisers — said he would attend the Republican National Convention this summer:
“I am not going to attend the Democratic Convention for obvious reasons,” Lieberman said.
Lieberman, whose Democratic superdelegate status was stripped earlier this year, also added that he’d likely support Rep. Chris Shays (R-CT) against his Democratic challenger. “I am going to wait and see, but let me just say Chris Shays is a great congressman,” Lieberman said.

It's pretty somber in NYC, each other year a great FUN day w/ St Patrick's, and the Fifth Avenue parade, the best of NYC parades, and the biggest StPaddy's in the world. Usually all over the city everybody IS Irish on StPaddy's.
