I'm amazed how cool and collected Sen. Barack Obama is against these absurd snipy attacks by Clinton/Bush/McCain. Obama is a once in a lifetime leader. He isn't afraid, he isn't unpatriotic, he isn't muslim. Not that there is anything wrong with that. McCain is just absurd, on blowback, foreign policy, Iraq, the Military, the economy, healthcare, gay marriage. USA! USA! USA! USA! USA!
Post American, I wish that all Americans were that smart. Many don't even read the newspaper, let alone watch credible news (except Faux News, depressing, no?) Pray myfriend. Pray.
Letterman just had the audience applaud for the 3 candidates and Mr. Obama got the most applause. That gives me a lot of hope since half of America watches that show.
"I have been very clear even as a candidate that, once we were in, that we were going to have some responsibility to make it work as best we could, and more importantly that our troops had the best resources they needed to get home safely," Obama, an Illinois Democrat, told reporters in a conference call. "So I don't think there is any contradiction there."
yeah, when is he going to start 'changing' his vote?
He sure is proud of the one he never had to cast...The War Authorization. What courage!
So, when will he get us out?
MSNBC: "Will you pledge that by January 2013, the end of your first term, there will be no US troops in Iraq?"
Sen. Obama: "I think it's hard to project four years from now, and I think it would be irresponsible. We don't know what contingency will be out there. I believe that we should have all our troops out by 2013, but I don't want to make promises, not knowing what the situation's going to be three or four years out."

I would like to take this open thread opportunity to give Senator's Di-Fi and Schumer a great-big, heart-felt, fuck you, for allowing the Bush ass-licker Atty. Gen. to be confirmed. Way to go you stupid POS!

Slimey weasling. This money isn't to give them "resources to get home safely" That's B.S.
Besides...Most experts say we could get out in 12 to 20 months..."safely". 2013? Do the math.

Got a linK? By the way, who are you for and who did you vote for in the last 2 presidential elections?
Johnny2bad@15
What was HRC's position on this?
Just askin.
There's not a wit of difference between the two on any policy position. They're both triangulating corporate fed centrists. That's why the "debates" were all about "gotcha". Otherwise it would have been an hour of "I agree with the honorable, Senator."

The U.N. is running out of rice. An activist Texas judge heart
polygamists having children.
Also, Obama choosing not to vote against the war wouldn't accomplish anything. Johnny got beaten down by the 'Cong, but thinks his military experience gives him an edge over Obama.
And his guaranteeing us leaving Iraq by a certain year would not help him win over the swing voters unsure of whether that's a good idea. Unfortunately, he has to play the game to advance his agenda-moreso, because of his color. Hillary's spokespeople are full of it, because Hillary could have easily voted against the war, and still been voted as President. Try doing that when you're someone whose spouse isn't a vote-winner. Anyway, Obama has chosen not to let the feds continue spying on us, so I am sure he'll make the right decisions when it comes to Iraq, and he's President.

Oh...and I was for Edwards (or Kuchinich...though he was unelectable) I voted for Gore and Kerry. A lot of f*ckin good that did us.
Bottom line I don't like weasels who sell one product (hope and change) and represent another (SOS). Its pretty clear if you dig a little.

So Gregory Cochran is an expert in military withdrawals. Even I would rather listen to some of the saner military officers. I'm not saying that troops couldn't be withdrawn in a few months, but neither is Obama.

Me neither. My point isn't that Hillary is any better on these issues. She ain't. I'm not talking about her. I'm talking about the presumptive nominee.

Ok, Jeez. Pick you're own "experts". You asked for a link. I'm not arguing the point. I'm saying that Obama is talking out his ass. Both sides. Fund them so they can withdraw safely??? That's pure BS...and he knows it. Even Feinstein voted nay today. Was she and the 21 others wrong? F*ck no.

ok sorry for jumpin in. I thought the topic you brought up was a time line for getting out of Iraq and who said what.
We know where McCain stands. You brought up Obama's position. So I thought it might be a good idea to compare the 2 statements from the Dem candidates. thats all.

I rarely do. But for some reason she got it right today.
We are finally having a political reawakening in this country but not every one can have their each and every wish be fulfilled. Compromise is sometimes the only viable solution.
As for Obama, I'm originally an Hillary supporter but he is now inevitable. I've noticed a bias on blogs, even here at C&L towards Obama but he seems to stand for everything we want. The next few months will have us see both sides move towards the center while placating their more extreme supporters. Obama may not be what everyone wants but as it is true in most election cycles, he is the lesser of two evils.

Obama, change we can believe in. The real straight talk express.

I think there is a good chance with Obama. I know that we have been sucked in before, but we weren't paying as close attention as we are now. I think he is the only one that thinks outside of the box.
Mudshark, for a liberal you don't have a whole lot of faith. Not that that is a bad thing. Give Obama a chance to screw up and then we can lay into him. At this point all i see is guts and perseverance, that's a damned good start.

I'll give you that brother but you what? To me and many of whom I've pointed this out to Obama seems to be the Democratic version Presidente Bush. (please don't tar and feather me for saying this, as some Obamaites have tried to lol) His policies and actions seems to remind me of Texas Gov. Bush doing all he could to be elected, especially in a election with much more experienced oponents, though mind you Obama plays a lot cleaner than chimpie could ever dream of.

4 years from, you all will be bitching about the same things because neither candidate, Repugnicant or Dumbocrap will or can change a damn thing. They are all liars & crooks, out to screw the peasants, on behalf of corporate America. They just take turn f*ucking you, like a whore.

He is certainly a damn good learner, a quick one at that... The quick reflexes he has shone up until now do makr mr wonder how Repigs are feeling about the general election
I am hoping above all hopes that Obama is more progressive than he makes out to be, after all Edwards and Kucinich were too liberal to make it this far. He is very smart and knows how to play the game, so I for one says let him show us what he is really made of when he becomes the next POTUS!

I have a question . And is relates to the "War Funding Bill" that was signed today. 150 billion for the next 6 months.
Did Sen Obama vote for it? And did Sen Clinton vote for it.. honest question here folks.
I'm having a hard time finding any links to this vote .
Some alternative coverage of the race in Kentucky.
We have serious pockets of humanity out there. At least they figured out how to use the word Muslim in place of the n-word.

White people are chicken shits. How the hell did us white folks ever end up founding this country?
Does it strike anyone else as odd when they cover the news about racists in WV saying they'd rather vote for McSame? Reporter: How does Obama convince these voters? Me screaming at the teevee: Bleach his skin!!?
Come on! these are racists pure and simple he can't win them over unless he becomes white!
Yet somehow it's a "valid" question: how does Obama win the "white, working class voters"?

Hey I'm actually Muslim, I know our brand is worse than the Republicans right now but isn't this kinda like antisemitism towards Muslims, after all some delusioned idiots don't speak for 1/3 of the world's population, just like Bush doesn't speak for America as a whole, just the 25 percenters or less

The thing to ask them before November is "Are you better off now under a Repugnantcant administration?" I don't care if it's Clinton or Obama, if they don't know the answer to that, we will be in trouble.

But do go to: Thomas Library of Congress.
this one might work.

go ahead, start diggin. Start with "Select a Senator".

I don't know. I don't like the idea of someone sinking their teeth into me.
And when it comes down to politicians.I don't trust any of them. Not even Obama.( who I'll support when the time comes)
I just think that we shouldn't get our hopes up to high. Cause, been there, done that.

We have to accept that ...10-13% of voting population won't ever, ever, ever vote for Obama because he's black. But I also agree that the "better off" question should be one of the main selling points for the Democrats in the Fall. I have hope this will work.
So, muddy, if I bite you gently, would you still be shy?
I don't know. I don't like the idea of someone sinking their teeth into me.
And when it comes down to politicians.I don't trust any of them. Not even Obama.( who I'll support when the time comes)

LOL. Guess the best we can hope/vote for is the one who "gums" us the least!

That was Kirk replying to (actress Kirstie Alley - my memory isn't what it used to be) on the bridge of the Enterprise after his subterfuge that allowed him to escape from Khan initially. God, what a total geek am I?

Looks just like a drowning victim. How are these selling in Louisiana.?
As he has with every other war funding bill , today Sen. Barrack Obama voted to continue forcing the American taxpayer to pay for the carnage Iraq and Afghanistan.
Anti-war progressive??? Yeah, right.
"Change we can believe in", my ass.
Johnny2Bad @ 10:
yeah, when is he going to start 'changing' his vote?
Johnny2Bad @ 10:
So, who do you prefer?
Johnny2Bad @ 10:
From the Boston story:
"I have been very clear even as a candidate that, once we were in, that we were going to have some responsibility to make it work as best we could, and more importantly that our troops had the best resources they needed to get home safely," Obama, an Illinois Democrat, told reporters in a conference call. "So I don't think there is any contradiction there."
Here we are, end of another week.
Unfortunately the lying traitorous war criminals who have hijacked the US Govt havent been held accountable for their crimes yet.
Oh well...maybe next week.
abarts @ 11:
He sure is proud of the one he never had to cast...The War Authorization. What courage!
So, when will he get us out?
MSNBC: "Will you pledge that by January 2013, the end of your first term, there will be no US troops in Iraq?"
Sen. Obama: "I think it's hard to project four years from now, and I think it would be irresponsible. We don't know what contingency will be out there. I believe that we should have all our troops out by 2013, but I don't want to make promises, not knowing what the situation's going to be three or four years out."
Dartmouth Debate, Sept. 26, 2007
Johnny2bad@15
What was HRC's position on this?
Just askin.
Johnny2Bad @ 15:
And when could you absolutely say, when we could be out?
Open thread? OK, I HATE THE FUCKIN' YANKEES!!!!
Aaaaaaahhhhhhhh......
McLame finally rejected the endorsements of both Hagee and Parsley, 3 months later.
I would like to take this open thread opportunity to give Senator's Di-Fi and Schumer a great-big, heart-felt, fuck you, for allowing the Bush ass-licker Atty. Gen. to be confirmed. Way to go you stupid POS!
Everyone else, have a great Memorial Day weekend.
Geo @ 13:
Slimey weasling. This money isn't to give them "resources to get home safely" That's B.S.
Besides...Most experts say we could get out in 12 to 20 months..."safely". 2013? Do the math.
Johnny2Bad @ 21:
Got a linK? By the way, who are you for and who did you vote for in the last 2 presidential elections?
mudshark @ 16:
There's not a wit of difference between the two on any policy position. They're both triangulating corporate fed centrists. That's why the "debates" were all about "gotcha". Otherwise it would have been an hour of "I agree with the honorable, Senator."
Johnny2Bad @ 23:
It's amazing how you skirt any questions with more BS.
Ron @ 22:
Here's a link from the American Conservative for God's sake...Go figure.
"Fast withdrawal is safer than slow—it minimizes the slow bleed of occupation, and it avoids leaving dangerously weak forces in-country for long periods."
The U.N. is running out of rice.
Ron @ 22:
Oh...and I was for Edwards (or Kuchinich...though he was unelectable) I voted for Gore and Kerry. A lot of f*ckin good that did us.
Bottom line I don't like weasels who sell one product (hope and change) and represent another (SOS). Its pretty clear if you dig a little.
Johnny2Bad @ 23:
Johhny . I'm not disagreeing with you. I too think their just about mirror images of themselves. But HRC's position on this was , she'd bring them home sooner. Do I believe her? no.
Ron @ 24:
I answered the question. Read much?
Johnny2Bad @ 25:
So Gregory Cochran is an expert in military withdrawals. Even I would rather listen to some of the saner military officers. I'm not saying that troops couldn't be withdrawn in a few months, but neither is Obama.
mudshark @ 28:
Me neither. My point isn't that Hillary is any better on these issues. She ain't. I'm not talking about her. I'm talking about the presumptive nominee.
Johnny2Bad @ 29:
It took about 4 questions before you responded to any of them.
Ron @ 30:
F*ck no.
Johnny2Bad @ 31:
ok sorry for jumpin in. I thought the topic you brought up was a time line for getting out of Iraq and who said what.
We know where McCain stands. You brought up Obama's position. So I thought it might be a good idea to compare the 2 statements from the Dem candidates. thats all.
Any Takers?
Feinstein voted against it?
WTF? Has she gotten stricken with morality?
Johnny2Bad @ 33:
So, you always agree with Feinstein? I don't.
Ron @ 32:
Hey, "Ron". Is that really relevant to the topic? WTF? Grading me on my typing speed? Unbelievable.
Anything of substance you'd like top discuss?
mudshark @ 35:
I know. Amazing.
Johnny2Bad @ 10:
Yeah and mccain just stop sucking hagee's ass. If you believe that then you are on the fast train to second helpings.
Ron @ 36:
I rarely do. But for some reason she got it right today.
Johnny2Bad @ 37:

We are finally having a political reawakening in this country but not every one can have their each and every wish be fulfilled. Compromise is sometimes the only viable solution.
As for Obama, I'm originally an Hillary supporter but he is now inevitable. I've noticed a bias on blogs, even here at C&L towards Obama but he seems to stand for everything we want. The next few months will have us see both sides move towards the center while placating their more extreme supporters. Obama may not be what everyone wants but as it is true in most election cycles, he is the lesser of two evils.
AAAAHHHHHGGGG
bill has the nerve to tell Sen. Obama he should offer VP to hill.
In your dreams!
Then I heard that hill doesn't want to seat FL and MI. she wants to hold off even if Sen. Obama allows her some delegates. she wants them all.
In your dreams!
She is dead set on going to the convention and try to convince superdelegates that she's the best candidate.
In your Dreams!
Go Obama!
Go USA!
Saad @ 45:
What makes Sen. Obama evil?
GaMeOfLiFe-Obama Hussein @ 47:
Obama, change we can believe in. The real straight talk express.
Ron @ 48:
Do you really think that any of them are going to be straight with the public Ron?
Sweet Desk!
Now where can I put my f***ing monitor now that it's not level.
mudshark @ 49:
I think there is a good chance with Obama. I know that we have been sucked in before, but we weren't paying as close attention as we are now. I think he is the only one that thinks outside of the box.
Well for one he IS a politician but the fact that not everyone is straight in all of thier talk makes them suspect.
The saying Don't Trust Anybody comes to mind. :)
Saad @ 52:
He can't do it alone. He will need all of us to support his policies. If he strays, we will be all over it. You have to trust someone sometime.
Mudshark, for a liberal you don't have a whole lot of faith. Not that that is a bad thing. Give Obama a chance to screw up and then we can lay into him. At this point all i see is guts and perseverance, that's a damned good start.
xoites defends Constitution @ 54:

Ron @ 53:
I'll give you that brother but you what? To me and many of whom I've pointed this out to Obama seems to be the Democratic version Presidente Bush. (please don't tar and feather me for saying this, as some Obamaites have tried to lol) His policies and actions seems to remind me of Texas Gov. Bush doing all he could to be elected, especially in a election with much more experienced oponents, though mind you Obama plays a lot cleaner than chimpie could ever dream of.
mudshark @ 55:
If you have a better option i am all ears.
xoites defends Constitution @ 54:
Hey x, good to see you again. We do have to start somewhere. At least he is looking at where the most problems come from and that's the mindset of the beltway and the MSM.
mudshark @ 34:
4 years from, you all will be bitching about the same things because neither candidate, Repugnicant or Dumbocrap will or can change a damn thing. They are all liars & crooks, out to screw the peasants, on behalf of corporate America. They just take turn f*ucking you, like a whore.
xoites defends Constitution @ 54:
as Chimpie said..."fool me once..."
Saad @ 59:
He may have screwed that quote up a bit.
He is the biggest fool who ever thought we were the biggests fools that ever lived.
Saad @ 56:
Obama reminds me of Bush in only a few ways: They both have four apendages, ears on their head and hair.
Saad @ 56:
The fact that he is a whole lot cleaner should give you some satisfaction. Even Faus snooze can't dig any real negatives on him so, they just make it up.
Ron @ 62:
Oh, Ron! You know they nailed him on the flag pin thing!
Ron @ 62:
He is certainly a damn good learner, a quick one at that... The quick reflexes he has shone up until now do makr mr wonder how Repigs are feeling about the general election
I am hoping above all hopes that Obama is more progressive than he makes out to be, after all Edwards and Kucinich were too liberal to make it this far. He is very smart and knows how to play the game, so I for one says let him show us what he is really made of when he becomes the next POTUS!
I was in High School the last time i wore a flag pin. Surprised i have not been deported by now.

Did Sen Obama vote for it? And did Sen Clinton vote for it.. honest question here folks.
