Despite RFK Gaffe, Hillary Still Confident of No. 2 Slot on Ticket

Hillary blames Obama for her words http://blog.washingtonpost.com/the-talk/2008/05/clinton_camp_stokes_rfk_...
I'm really starting to dislike this woman.
hillary reminds me of some people who just
whine at you to the point that you want to
either give in or gag them.
Ruthless People @ 2:
I hear ya'!
When Hillary and Fox are putting out the same message, you know there's a problem (with her.)
The nightmare will be over when Bush is out of office.
It's late. That Hume interview is a joke, right?
fastfeat @ 7:
OK, OK I got it now...
That just makes me sick....
Hil continues to believe she can turn the corner. The Libertarians ironically pick a guy best known to prosecute someone for their sex lives as a candidate.
Please tell me this is a joke.
Tequila @ 10:
Great news about Barr getting the Libertarian nod. Should siphon some votes from McBush.
Ruthless People @ 2:
How very very sad
I know hill isn't a role model for anyone I know.
She blamed Sen. Obama's campaign for what she said? How repug is that move?
she won't apology to Sen. Obama because she didn't reference Obama by name when she stated her reasons to stay in the race. she also lied about her husband's stay in the race. so she says she is staying because of what? what is she left with in that response of hers, Sen. Obama's death? Get real!
hill you will continue to make up lies and threaten people for your own gains. hill you're a liar, madam.
Go Obama!
Go USA!
Now that was too funny ... it was a joke, wasn't it ... please tell me it was a joke ...
Now if only Bush would take up eating pretzels again .
He Can Be Cut-throat. He Believes That If You're in a Race, You Beat the Other Side By Almost Any Means Necessary. Profile: David Axelrod, Barack Obama's strategist.
David Mendell, author of the only serious biography so far of Obama, has watched Axelrod up close in Chicago politics. "He can be cut-throat. He believes when you get in a race, you beat the other side by almost any means necessary," Mendell said yesterday.
The Clinton machine opts for frontal assault, beating you over the head with a blunt instrument, Mendell said, but Axelrod will be more subtle, leaving little trace: "He can do it very delicately, to the point that you may not realize he is slicing your head off."

Ruthless People @ 2:
50% of me feels the same way. The other half feels sorry for her because she's becoming a clown-like figure. I voted for Bill and supported Hillary completely on the healthcare issue she introduced in the 1990's. I defended her to anyone who said something negative.
I'm a Democrat to the core and will vote for whoever the democratic candidate is. It saddens me to hear the nasty threats from supposed supporters of Hillary who proclaim they will vote for McCain if their candidate is not nominated.
Any true Democrat, after the past 8 years of filth and death, would NEVER vote for a continuation of more filth and death. Voting for McCain out of spite is something I just don't and will not understand.
L.A. Confidential @ 17:
and you have examples to back up your opinion.......just asking friendly
Time for truckloads of pretzels, indeed !
L.A. Confidential @ 17:
So what. The only one using repug tactics and praising the repugs at every turn in hil. And hil's campaign mgr is one lying, sloppy shit starter.
Ruthless People @ 2:
Welcome to the club. Way to own up Hillary.
Sitemonitor: what happened to my response to LA's post?

Kanan @ 13:
Sad indeed.
While I think that too much was made about this (KO, etc), Clinton blaming Obama?? Give me a break.
It all began when Hillary made a legitimate remark underscoring that LBJ played a role as partner with MLK in the passage of Civil Rights legislation.

Ah, the old bitbucket attacks again ...
As for Bushie golfing again after he said he would give it up to support the troops, he did it again! What a flubber! He must not know how to tell the truth or be consistent.
You won't even be able to drink away rising prices.
From Wikipedia (but I'm sure it it's not word for word, it's derived from the Online Jargon File or the New Hacker's Dictionary) -
The bit bucket is jargon for where lost computerized data has gone, by any means; any data which does not end up where it is supposed to, being lost in transmission, a computer crash, or the like is said to have gone to the bit bucket — that mysterious place on a computer where lost documents go, as in:
"What happened to that important spreadsheet that I was just editing?"
"Oh, it went into the bit bucket."
The chip receiver (or "bit bucket") from a UNIVAC key punch.Originally, the bit bucket was the container on teletype machines or IBM key punch machines into which chad from the paper tape punch or card punch was deposited; the formal name is "chad box" or (at IBM) "chip box".
The term was then generalized into any place where useless bits go including the trash can or rubbish bin. In Unix, Linux, and unix-like operating systems, this term is used to refer to /dev/null. In OpenVMS, this term refers to SYS$NULL:. On Univac 90/60 operating systems such as VS/9, it was referred to as "*DUMMY". On DOS, it is referred to as "NUL".
The bit bucket is also used in discussions of bit shift operations. When the width of a given binary number is fixed, one or more bits are lost when performing a simple shift. These bits are said to have "fallen off" or to have "fallen into the bit bucket".
Such a device is sometimes referred to as a "write once read never" or WORN device (named after the magneto-optical WORM devices used during the 80s), and was indeed implemented as such as an Easter egg in early versions of Atari BASIC.
The WORN is related to the FINO "First In Never Out" stack and the WOM "Write Only Memory", implemented by Signetics in 1972.
I watched RECOUNT on HBO tonight and if this movie is even half true, then I fear what will happen this November! For one, I hope the Democratic Party has actually grown a backbone in the last 8 years. Secondly, I hope the United States Supreme Court stay on the sidelines. Third, I hope every State has its shit together (looking at you Florida, Ohio, and Pennsylvania) so everyone who can vote, will vote. That voter ID law going into effect will cause absolute chaos to suppress Obama's vote I believe!
L.A. Confidential @ 25:
Whether the remark was legitimate or not, especially in politics, perception is reality. The reality is that if every politician went around saying what they actually felt then the majority of us would vote against them because we hold them to this insane standard (i.e. legalizing marijuana). And there was no real fall-out on the MLK comment until Bill reinforced it with his Jesse Jackson comment.
The flag lapel on its own does nothing to Obama and its illegitimate. The flag lapel with that picture of him in a turban with a picture of him with his hands down during the National Anthem reinforces this idea that he's unpatriotic when on their own, none of those claims are legitimate.
Like I said before, I respect your opinion and I know you come on these boards everyday trying to play the Devil's Advocate. But I strongly disagree when you start holding Obama to a standard on every issue, and give Hillary the benefit of the doubt on every issue, when there is no precedence for it either way.
Kissing each other's ass to the max. Yes! It has to be a joke.
Then again; what can you expect from such idiots?
Kanan @ 18:
I agree that her legacy is in real peril right now. I mean I don't think this would be a big deal if the Clintons weren't s hard headed and blame everyone but themselves for their problems. What she does for Obama and the Democratic Party between June and November will determine how the Clintons will be remembered in history. Either way, I think they are now known universally with having serious character flaws when that view was just shared with Republicans at first.
I have never read this media bloodhound site, is it supposed to be akin to the onion?
or does Brit just want some lady parts?
BRIT HUME: You're very welcome. And may I say, Mr. President, on behalf of our fighting forces and their families, we salute your courage. If your face doesn't grace Mt. Rushmore by 2009, they should tear that stony heap down.
PRESIDENT BUSH: Boy, you're tough. (laughs) I'll give 'em to 2010.
BRIT HUME: You're combination of compassion and strength, sir, makes me wish I had opposite sex parts. In an ideal world, I'd conceive your child, buy an obscure island and dedicate the rest of my life to cloning you.
You have got to be shitting me. I have never seen such a suck-up job in my life. And the stupid bugger said it in public, on television. I was thinking about watching it, but realized it would raise my blood pressure to dangerous levels. I wish Murdoch and Ailes would take up a new sport, like parachuteless skydiving.
MacDaKnife @ 35:
Mac, I realize that after 7 1/2 years of living in Bushworld, it's hard to not to put such an interview past Bush and Fox, but there was a reason I tagged it as satire. If it was real, don't you think we would have put video up of it?

Hilary is done. Its about time.
Her legitimacy ended, for me, when her camp accused Obama of a gender attack when he pulled out her chair for her a couple months back.
If she can't gracefully decline such an 'attack' how can she claim ANY sort of diplomatic experience or talent?

Seriously, I am legion brotha. If she was smart, she'd publicly denounced Liz Trollop and Fox tomorrow. That's what I'm saying.
StirFry @ 63:
I hear ya, bro. She's made a lot of mistakes in her campaign, especially considering that she knew the MainStreamMotherfuckers were out to get her. That Penn idiot didn't help either... She may have had more of an upHill (haha) battle than Obama, but she didn't handle it as well as she could have either. Time for us to turn our attentions to McBruceDerndoesmyvoiceovers and bring as many of her supporters with us as possible.

Since this is Memorial Day I think it would appropriate to point out the recent remarks made to the military by the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Mullen. I agree with Votevets. The simple fact that he had to make these remarks is telling and is a clear indication of the sentiment brewing in the ranks:
Mullen Tells Troops to Stay Out of Politics
"The U.S. military must remain apolitical at all times and in all ways," wrote the chairman, Adm. Mike Mullen, the nation's highest-ranking officer. "It is and must always be a neutral instrument of the state, no matter which party holds sway."
"As the nation prepares to elect a new president," Admiral Mullen wrote, "we would all do well to remember the promises we made: to obey civilian authority, to support and defend the Constitution and to do our duty at all times."

Clinton Could Face Uneasy Return to Senate

CNN LATE EDITION - WOLF BLITZER
Interview With David Dreier, Jane Harman
Aired May 25, 2008 - 11:00
DREIER: ...here we are in a position where in Israel, the left and the right come together on one thing, and that is in prosecuting this war against radical extremism. And we learned very well from seeing the Israelis that it's as if September 11th had taken place just a week ago. The solidarity is like what we saw following September 11th of 2001 here in the United States of America.
On May 26, 1868, the Senate impeachment trial of President Andrew Johnson ended with his acquittal as the Senate fell one vote short of the two-thirds majority required for conviction.

Why is it any surprise Monkey-Boy would play golf while our brave soldiers are still in harms way at his personal circus of blood? Why is it any surprise that he would break his promise? Why should it bother him? After all, he strummed a guitar while people suffered and even died in the Super Dome and on their roof tops after Katrina. This is George Bush. He simply does not possess basic human sensibilities or morals. He will suffer the consequences, maybe not in this world, but the next.

I'm rather rusty on my high school civics, but I think he'd remain as governor if he ran for a higher office and lost.
If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will correct me.
Bush can shove those golf clubs up his ass! Hope everybody is enjoying their Memorial Day holiday or, as I call it, Cannon Fodder Day. A day when the peons of this country are encouraged to reflect upon the tens of thousands of young (mostly poor and working class)men who were compelled to give their lives serving in wars created by rich white guys in their never ending quest to remake the world into their own free-market Utopian playground.
louisianan @ 96:
I don't know if McCrazy's gonna go with Jindal. Think about it, consider all the racial bullshit Obama's going through - and that's on the Democratic, so called "liberal" side. Now think of what your typical Southern GOP voter is like. Do you really think those kind of people are gonna vote for somebody of Indian extraction?? Not very likely. McCain's gonna go with some lily -white abomination - probably Huckabee or Romney.
Nicole Belle @ 36:
You must be right, Nicole. I gave it more weight for being true, when I saw it was scheduled for broadcast at 7PM. It is pretty easy to imagine anything disgusting passing Hume's lips, but this seemed to defy anything I could imagine. Now that I re-read it, it does seem contrived. They certainly reeled me in *red glowing face*.
Back in 2003 Bush told Prince Bandar that he was giving up eating candy as his bit of solidarity with the troops. Somehow I think he broke THAT promise too.
L.A. Confidential @ 17:
So what's your point? Are you suggesting that Obama bring a knife to a gun fight?
The fact that he picked an apparently excellent campaign strategist to combat Hilary and the repugs suggest to me that Obama has good judgement in who he brings into his inner circle - which bodes well for his ability to run an administration.
As a logical argument it seems like sour grapes to me.
