Dude, what the F? I am so suprised that not one person kicked his ass? He took pride in "eliminating" people who slept on the train....what a prick!

what the hell's wrong with the world's global elite in 2008?

don't they know their history? don't they know that when a ruling class screws the peasantry, there will be terrible consequences?

believe me, it would bring me no joy to see lord rothschild beheaded like louis 14, or to see joe lieberman carved up via bayonet like tsar nikolas, or to see rupert murdoch strung up in the streets like mussolini... but if these @$$holes don't shape up, i won't exactly be shedding a tear for them when the proverbial $#!+ hits the fan...

do they all really think we don't know what's going on here..?

I heard a couple different comments on the radio and MSNBC today. Apparently, John Dean has said that the FISA bill is poorly written, it doesn't appear to make any one immune from prosecution of any crimes they may have committed. They will be immune of telecoms from being sued which I don't agree with, but they could be prosecuted at a later date.

Don't bet on it. You think Congress will suddenly expose their own complicity in torture and other crimes? This whole nightmare started with Ford's pardon of Nixon...The corruption and lawlessness has increased exponentially since then. There are those who may even go as far back as JFK or even further back, but that's another story.

Court Voids Finding on Guantánamo Detainee
By WILLIAM GLABERSON
Published: June 24, 2008

In the first civilian judicial review of the government’s evidence for holding any of the Guantánamo Bay detainees, a federal appeals court has ordered that one of them be released or given a new military hearing.

The ruling, made known Monday in a notice from the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, overturned a Pentagon tribunal’s decision in the case of one of 17 Guantánamo detainees who are ethnic Uighurs, a Muslim minority from western China.

Mbeki's silence in South Africa about Mugabe is reprehensible. What a disgusting failure he has been. Loyal to Mugabe, Mbeki refused to put pressure on him. And Mbeki's stance on AIDS was unforgivable; The only explanation of it was that it would be cheaper to allow people to die from the disease. Mandela was also silent, and I have always thought highly of him before this caving in . I grew up in South Africa and miss the country -- the scenery is spectacular--but regret what it has become, and the crime rate and AIDS are amongst the highest in the world. It's still racist (against the whites now but that's OK?). Zimbabwe is a monumental tragedy. I also don't hear Bush say and do anything about to put pressure on Mugabe. These dictators stick together, that's for sure.

Why don't people leave him alone? He's out of the race now - just let him be.

He's just waiting for Larry Craig.

Hello pot? Meet Zippo.

There I fixed it for you.

This is a joke, right?

KevinC @ 66:

You should have called this satire on the main page link. Don't do politics like the Republicans. It was a funny Onion piece, but your headline without a satire warning was not right. Just because a Republican would do it does not make it right, we need to be better then them.

Being better then them has not worked, honesty does not work with repuklicans, they want to be lied to...they want to play dirty....if we want to win, we must hit hard with truth, but when they lie, point it out to the point of embarassing them (if they can be embarassed, for if they do it it's ok).

"Everyone was sitting on the opposite side of the train because there was a real bad smell coming from his side."

It's was obvious, based on just this comment, that the story originated with The Onion .

That is hardly news. New Yorkers have been uncharacteristically polite about not mentioning the bad smell from Giuliani's side for many many years now.

I think we ought to consider adding a weapon to our arsenal for dealing with DINOs: third-partying. Taking out an incumbent representative in a primary is extremely unlikely; when it becomes apparent that there's not a dime's worth of difference between the DINO and a GOPer we ought to be willing to live with a GOPer for two years. I think this tactic will put a lot more fear into reps than a primary challenge. This tactic needs to be used judiciously but when Hoyer-like weevils bring disrepute on the party as a whole its worth purging them at the cost of some short-term setbacks. However, it is probably only appropriate for use in House races and not the Senate (though I expect there are cases where it might be warranted even there) given the longer terms, the role of the senate in appointments and smaller size of the body.

Before Georg W. ends up like Guiliani - he too is taking one last crack at 9-11 opportunism - with

the cries of OIL and ANWR.

As a Californian - I take a special note at the timing of the sudden skyrocketing of these two issues - in light of all the 'successes' by both US and Israel over the entire Middle East.
- Israel is all powerful now - even putting on air show to emphasize and flaunt their might, now that they've been gorged with money and weapons supplied by both Britain and the US.
-And the Bush Administration, supported by a self serving majority in Congress, has given every drop of blood and available dime they could steal from the people of this country - stripped from the very same citizens who supplement Israel's economy and pay for Israeli's health care and bought the Israeli weaponry.

Just as California went through a bizarre and unexpected series of rolling blackouts in '98 and '98, at a time when the weather was not an issue and where the amount of power required by the state was less than normal -all precisely at the very same moment 98' that George W. Bush happened to be running for office, whom we now know was secretly working with Cheney and ENRON to develop the plan to take over the Iraqi and Iranian oil and gas fields when elected and who targeted the Democratic West to make their point (a) that the country needed more energy because we bad citizens were using more and (b) by specifically squeezing the crap out of the entire West coast in hopes of swaying over new voters, this new energy squeeze -is just another con job.

I fervently believe this 4.00 gas is a completely manufactured event. Retaliation because while you did give these beasts your firstborn, you didn't give these beasts our coastlines -you didn't give them ANWR.

This is all one last conjoined attempt by the Saudis, the Israelis, the Bush and Chenyites and their fellow global business partners, both here and abroad, in our very own Congressional seats..

We all saw one company- Enron, bring the entire West Coast of the United States to its knees, with the help of this government and itsa newly created laws - created by the 'global business communities' whose representatives the Clintons and Schumers and Emanuels installed in Congress over the last decade.

But, what was really going on around us, hit me hard in the 2004 VP debate, when Cheny was asked about AIDS And he referred to all the deaths as a shame -because it "depleled the African work force".
( paraphrased)
Cheney's sole concerns over this devastating disease was that it was killing all the soldiers who were guarding the pipelines. The disease was killing his "workers".

Reminds me of the macho male Latino La Raza leader, arguing for more immigrants, recently chastised us American women on the grounds of ' not birthing enough "workers"'. He said 'he' had 'enough workers' to fill the bill.

You're now not a human anymore, you are a worker. And you are expendable. Period

Nothing local, is sacred. And the word 'patriotism' is now just an advertising tool with no meaning.
Not anymore.

But you know what? This time, we're NOT taking it.
We WILL NOT and ARE NOT getting down on our knees for ANYONE. Even at $ 4.00 a gallon - the people of this country are still saying NO to ANWR and NO, "you can't have our coasts or our first born" - ever again.

I am so fu**ing proud of you guys!

"Next stop, political oblivion. All must exit here!"

Well, there's Colonel Klink. Where's Sergeant Schultz? I guess he's with Hogan.

That is not Ru Ru, it is a man who looks like Ru Ru. There is no way that he would be on a subway, he has drivers and coachmen to take him where he needs to go. He has an entourage who would take away anyone who would dare take a picture of him.

That is definitely not him.

That scene on the bus in "Trading Places" is still the funniest thing I've ever seen in a movie.

All I could think about last week when I heard about Bo Diddley was:
"In Philadelphia its worth 50 bucks ..."

Dang it, this is funny and all, but when you post a fake story I wish you'd disclose it up front! Giulani is just weird enough for this to be TRUE.

This is pretty lame guys... nowhere do you mention that its from the ONION, or mention that the Onion is literally fake news.

You should really be careful about this especially given the hard time you guys give the rest of the media.

LVogt @ 40:

You should mention it's the Onion on your first page. Pretty cheezy of you.

[Site Monitor--The link clearly goes to The Onion, no one's hiding anything.]

Given how many people in this thread dont understand that its not real.. I think you probably should have disclosed that up front.

And I'm also pretty sure you knew what the reaction would be and probably set it up the way you did for just that reason....

The pigs are already walking, how will you act when you're sleeping in the farmers house? Its sad to see.
