Why do I feel like this story reflects the zeitgeist of this decade better than anything? The guy that the FBI is trying to blame for the letters doesn't match the psych profile.
The nearest other case to this that I can think of is the Unabomber and he was clearly smart and nuts.

IMO I don't want Obama to debate McCain in a town hall meeting. I think that would draw a croud that would overpower McCain, but the 'librul' media is going to sensor it. They're going to make it look like all those so many Obama supporters are actually, (for some reason) for McCain. While the crowd chants Obama, and Fox mutes the audio to add thier own commentary.

These town hall meetings are nothing more than a trap. That McCain can spring on Obama. I'm glad he's smart enough to avoid them, but I wish he would get a bit more stable. I'm very disappoited in Obama right now . Drilling offshore was something he didn't really need to say. Alternative energy would have been a better message to pound home.

During a hearing this past Wednesday of the House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Intelligence, Information Sharing & Terrorism Risk Assessment, Rep. Pascrell expressed strong disagreement with Rep. Peter King's (R-NY) remarks that Muslims are not doing enough to help law enforcement fight terrorism.
“America must view the Muslim community as a great asset to our homeland security effort and take real steps to engage them. We cannot risk becoming like Europe where Muslim citizens have been pushed to the margins of society and are looked at as objects of suspicion,” said Pascrell after the hearing.
Congressman Pascrell also took the opportunity at the hearing to rebut King’s criticism of a planned advertising campaign in New York subway cars designed to educate the public about Islam. The ads will be placed in the subway cars in September during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
Congressman Pascrell responded to the controversy by stating: “I am deeply disappointed in any public official or media outlet that would use harsh rhetoric against this ad campaign which simply seeks to answer people’s questions about Islam. This is exactly the kind of dialog we need. Instead of making people fear one another, we should bridge the gaps in our collective knowledge. As it says in the ad, whether it comes to questions about Islam or questions about our communal homeland security strategy – ‘you deserve to know.’”
FBI Director Robert S. Mueller, stated before the U.S. House Judiciary Committee: "And every opportunity I have, I re-affirm the fact that 99.9 percent of Muslim-Americans or Sikh-Americans, Arab-Americans are every bit as patriotic as anybody else in this room, and that many of our cases are a result of the cooperation from the Muslim community in the United States." (April 23, 2008).
The New York Post, as usual, offered some vile propaganda and lies.
I'm a Firefox person, myself, but I am thinking of buying a tiny little Linux machine to travel with. No docs on it or anything to worry about being confiscated by the border fascists.

I wonder how that will impact international business travelers coming here. Knowing that corporate data (secrets) could become US property might have a chilling effect on business. And our economy is so robust now, we need to make sure to curtail any business efforts by other countries - you know, the ones who still have money.

I honestly don't know why a lot of people are upset over this. Do the current laws specify whether TSA agents can do this or is it limited to Customs agents? I would trust Customs over TSA any day of the week.
In my criminal justice class way back in the late 90s we were told that the minute a person enters an international border crossing their right to privacy and search and seizure (4th amendment) go out the window. Your personal belongings become fair game for a lack of a better term and border officials don't have to establish probable cause at any point in time to search anyone.

Honestly? You don't see an issue with someone copying everything on your computer and slicing and dicing it forever?
