That poster need a fleet of B52s and B1/2s flying over his head off to bomb the little people.
Maybe a warship firing cruise missiles in the foreground too.
Then it would be the perfect cold war revisited McCain poster.

PR Push for Iraq War Preceded Intelligence Findings
"White Paper" Drafted before NIE even Requested

National Security Archive Electronic Briefing Book No. 254
Posted - August 22, 2008

For more information contact:
John Prados - (202) 994-7000

Washington D.C., August 22, 2008 - The U.S. intelligence community buckled sooner in 2002 than previously reported to Bush administration pressure for data justifying an invasion of Iraq, according to a documents posting on the Web today by National Security Archive senior fellow John Prados.

The documents suggest that the public relations push for war came before the intelligence analysis, which then conformed to public positions taken by Pentagon and White House officials. For example, a July 2002 draft of the "White Paper" ultimately issued by the CIA in October 2002 actually pre-dated the National Intelligence Estimate that the paper purportedly summarized, but which Congress did not insist on until September 2002.

A similar comparison between a declassified draft and the final version of the British government's "White Paper" on Iraq weapons of mass destruction adds to evidence that the two nations colluded in the effort to build public support for the invasion of Iraq. Dr. Prados concludes that the new evidence tends to support charges raised by former White House press secretary Scott McClellan and by the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence in its long-delayed June 2008 "Phase II" report on politicization of intelligence.

Great post Max.

It's truly sad what has become of the U.S., but considering it and Britain's colonial past, and present, it seems that some, accutately, remain free from prosecution of heinous crimes. Never has Congress seriously policed its own, and now is no exception, when its most pressing hour shows only an unwillingness to act.

Miers: From Supreme Court Nominee To Pakistan Lobbyist
By Kate Klonick - August 19, 2008

Harriet Miers, former White House counsel, one-time Supreme Court nominee and current partner at Locke Lord Bissell & Liddell, can now add lobbyist for the Pakistan People's Party and the Embassy of Pakistan to her resume, according to documents filed with the DOJ earlier this month.

In May of this year, Locke Lord Strategies signed a one-year $900,000 agreement to lobby for the Embassy of Pakistan. On her foreign agent registration short form, Miers listed the "Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and Asif Ali Zardari, Co-Chairperson of PPP and his children" as clients. The group's ongoing work lobbying for the PPP continues on a pro bono basis.

In case you're wondering if this has anything to do with the current events in Pakistan, The Blog of Legal Times has your answer:

What does President Pervez Musharraf's resignation mean for Locke Lord? Probably not much. The firm has represented Asif Ali Zardari, the leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party and an opponent of Musharraf, since March, when the firm was retained to promote democracy and pressure Pakistan's government to investigate former PPP head Benazir Bhutto's assassination.

odanny's picture

I'd prefer Hillary Clinton was named VP, that would be sweet and an unbeatable ticket, but Biden is a supposed foreign policy expert who might actually give that cred to Obama. But really, its not that complicated: Rule number 1: Dont invade other nations with the U.S. military. Foreign policy problems solved.

Bush/McCain 2008.

McCain/Bush 2008.

What?

I thought for sure that McCain either had Bush as his running mate in the upcoming November presidential election or that Bush (and his insane policies) were what voters will be deciding on in November, thus making McCain Bush's running mate, as Bush and all the crazed neo-con neo-fascist Republicans seek a third term.

Oh, and Mukasey just notified Congress about the Republican's "October Surprise," planned for just before the November elections. Mukasey is going to arbitrarily expand illegal investigations by the FBI, issuing his own version of an illegal Bush "signing statement," ordering the FBI to spy on U.S. citizens, without probable cause or even a reasonable suspicion that someone either has committed or is planning on committing a crime. Count on a huge number of liberals, or liberal-leaning Independents, being "rounded up" just before the November elections. And the charges? Suspicion that they are going to vote for Democratic candidates, including Barack Obama, instead of siding with the Fascist Republican candidates, including John "Boy" McCain.

Following significant pressure on lawmakers as a result of the temperance movement, and later prohibition, the House of Representatives finally passed the amendment on December 18, 1917. It was certified as ratified on January 29, 1919, having been approved by 36 states. It went into effect one year later on January 29, 1920. And check out the line up at the RNC. Bush , Cheney, Guili, Tom Ridge, it's like 2000/2004 all over again.

I think they're going to open the ceremonies with an exploding diorama of the twin towers then Bush will fly in on a mock up jet dressed in his pilot costume to meet with McMansions in center stage. Later, they'll have a fake grave site of Reagan, then Romney will come out of the ground like a zombie to be christened as VP. Along the sides of the convention, they'll have Gitmo prisoners in cages so the elites who paid $5000 ticket can spit on them . It's going to be spectacular .

If Biden is 65, then he'll be 72 at the end of Obama's term and would be 80 if he served two terms. I don't know if he'll run for President after Obama if Obama is elected. I hope he'll be a good Dick Cheney.

If not, are we to assume that if Obama attacks these evil DC lobbyists who have been screwing Americans for so long having Biden by his side, the smile on Biden's face will be the duo's phoniest theatrics or rather the "change we can believe" has been something deeper all along and we're yet to discover what exactly the idea means? The youngster don't like it. How about quitting and letting Hillary run, this whole thing just doesn't seem right.

Did anyone see this over at RAWSTORY.COM?

http://rawstory.com/news/2008/Buchanan_accuses_McCains_neocon_warmonger_...

Coming from Pat Buchanan, I was absolutely stunned at this article. Buchanan in no uncertain terms accuses Randy Scheunemann of treason.

This needs to get out there. All of these conservatives are judging Obama by the company he once kept.....Ayers, Wright, Father Pfleger, Rezko.....but are they judging McCain by the company he keeps and currently employs, that being Randy Scheunemann? Pat Buchanan certainly is.

I didn't know this about this Scheunemann's background. This is incredible. McCain has hired a Neocon who helped us get into Iraq and in fact was plugging to invade Iraq years before we actually did....as a member of PNAC, Project for a New American Century. And if McCain does eventually win and hasn't dumped this guy, chances are Scheunemann could become National Security Advisor.....something that will at last doom us all.

At least Obama did not hire Ayers or Wright or Pfleger or Rezko.....and he has denounced all of their actions and words.

Taking advice from, in fact, hiring a Neocon, is clear proof that McCain would be a 3rd term of Bush's presidency; in fact, it would be worse, and that just scares the hell out of me.

we can expect...the experience comments,change comments....i believe it's important that obama/biden

Damn.

Should have been Wesley Clark.

Joey Biden is old news. A verbose, gaffe-prone, inside-the-Beltway DNCer. The reich-wingers are already calling him "the Senate windbag" and "the plagiarist" and all that.

Damn.

My friend in New York said Obama is a shiny, happy, gullible, Pollyannish naif who has no idea what he's doing -- or what he's getting himself into. The swift-boating has only just begun, of course.

Get used to President McSame, the out-of-touch elitist warmonger.

Sometimes Obama can seem a little uptight (at least he took off the tie in Hawaii), and I think Biden will balance it out. They'll have sort of a Odd Couple-esque vibe. I don't necessarily agree with her 100 percent, because she was/is a diehard Hillary supporter who hoped she'd be Obama's running mate.

She just thinks Barack is a wide-eyed neophyte whose politeness and equanimity and willingness to make peace with GOP slime-buckets will end up sinking his candidacy.

Perhaps Biden will indeed open a can of kick-ass and spray it all over McSame and whoever he picks to be his partner in even more GOP crime.

But for now this pick lacks newness, dynamism, excitement. We'll see.

Personally, I'm stoked about this ticket and Biden's a good man, overall. Not my choice, but a good one, nonetheless. If Howard Dean couldn't be available for the gig, then Biden's a pretty good compromise, imo.

obama has boxed in on every decision he makes this is a difficult time to run for president especially the opposing party why because we're at war or whatever it is. biden and obama( younger and older) are very aware of what this administration pulled on us and the legislative branch.....like signing statements. biden knows and lived the history of the last what 5+ presidents.....he can consult/comment on what has worked and what hasn't.....you can't change if you don't
know what to change......obama has a good idea biden will provide more knowledge to solidify those ideas. i

some comment's regarding lobbyist scheunemann who is on mccains team...this could be somewhat serious.
obama needs to look at this

"Most important, Scheunemann's former lobbying firm, Orion Strategies, received at lest $800,000 from the government of Georgia between 2004 and May 15, 2008, when Scheunemann finally severed his ties -- officially, at least -- to the firm," notes The Nation. "Before that, between January 1, 2007, and May 15, 2008, Scheunemann was officially on the payroll as both Georgia's lobbyist and McCain's top adviser, during which time Georgia paid Orion and $290,000 and McCain paid him $70,000."

Man, that'll mess 'em up.

No, for two reasons. 1. Why WASTE the next Senate Majority Leader on a cabinet position like the AG, and 2. To put her on the Supreme Court would require Senate approval, and the Repubs would rather paralyze the Senate with a filibuster than let that happen. So, she'd be wasted as AG, and she'd never be approved for the Supreme Court.

Besides, I'd rather see Don Seigelman as AG, just for the pleasure of watching Rove shit his pants.

I don't like Biden. Frig. Obama/Biden. It's come to this.

Whatever. My vote will be cast in order to keep the zealous lunatics out of the White House, and in hopes of putting a tourniquet on a dying country's wounds.
