Andrew McCarthy did his best to convince Megyn Kelly there should be no special prosecutor for the IRS scandal, but didn't produce many reasons that made sense.
July 11, 2014

Andrew McCarthy is the Sad Sack of the right. He hates the DOJ investigation but he doesn't want a special prosecutor because the special prosecutor would shut down the leaks connected with the investigation.

That's bad for conservative media, of course. What would they use to stoke up hate besides Obamacare (a dismal failure in the hatemongering department) or BENGHAZI!!!?

And then there's the whole problem that a special prosecutor would just be someone the administration liked or had confidence in which means he wouldn't really go after the IRS the way he should. So there's another bummer.

And then...even if there was a special prosecutor and that special prosecutor unearthed something, Obama would just pardon them anyway so what's the point?

I was laughing by the end. Could it be that there's just nothing there to prosecute and they can't admit it?
