Sheriff David Clarke is a nut, but he's a dangerous nut with a national platform, thanks to Sean Hannity.

On Hannity's show Thursday night, Clarke's comments sounded downright eliminationist. First, he began with the "shame on you" routine.

Sheriff David Clarke told Sean Hannity tonight that people shouldn't be politicizing the horrific attack that left a Virginia reporter and cameraman dead.

"Shame on the left, shame on the Democrats for once again exploiting misery and tragedy to pursue a political agenda," Clarke said. "Shame on the president of the United States to invoke terrorism into this horrific incident that happened in Virginia."

That reference to terrorism was Obama pointing out that more people die in this country from shootings than terrorist attacks, which is and has been true for years.

And then he went on.

"Here's my challenge to the President of the United States. If you think this is so easy, forego your Secret Service protection for you and the First Lady and your children, and see what it's like to have to fend for yourself."

This isn't all that different from what we've seen from police departments in Baltimore and New York, where they decide to teach everyone a lesson by refusing to do their jobs.

I see what you did there, Sheriff Clarke, but I seriously doubt you'd be saying that about President Walker, President Cruz, or even President Trump, now would you?
