A rare sight indeed. Seeing Rainier from Vashon at all is rare.

Truth B Told's picture

No its not. It's the Iranians and their nuclear program.

at least according to the Obama administration:

It's the explosion of Goopers' heads nation wide.

Poor dears.

They just took out San Fran.
Billo warned us.
Oh for the love of gawd, why didn't we just shaddup and listen?

Oh. What?
Just fluffy clouds exhibiting a laminar, horizontally oblate appearance over a geographic elevation.

At ease nation, we're OK, for now...

That Obama was denied the info from the blacked out letter from Reprieve, the legal charity that represents Binyam Mohammed or that he had the info and still OK'ed the "States Secrets" defense that denied Binyam and 4 others their day in court. This whole "We do not torture" is bcoming questionable imho.

Truth B Told's picture

Obama is an accessory after the fact.

He is even negotiating the Karl Rove subpoenas so that they don't "weaken" the institution of the Presidency.

http://rawstory.com/news/2008/Bushs_lawyer_no...

"The president is very sympathetic to those who want to find out what happened," Obama's White House counsel Gregory Craig said in a statement yesterday to The Washington Post's Carrie Johnson. "But he is also mindful as president of the United States not to do anything that would undermine or weaken the institution of the presidency. So, for that reason, he is urging both sides of this to settle."

Imagine Obama getting briefed on all the Presidential Orders, especially all the ones never mentioned to the public.

What? I can take everybodies pony? Wait till I tell Michele about this!

calgarylady's picture

and ironic, since Karl Rove himself did everything he could to 'undermine or weaken the institution' with all of his criminal shenanigans.

The thought of swine boy getting any special deals in return for his testimony makes me ill.

GM

not sure GM is going to make it they may need more monetary help. maybe it's time to let them go. to me they cut their own throat if you will. they had a chance to be competitive with toyota but they decided on the hummer.

Jo's picture

or nationalize them, but GM goes and there goes tons of jobs.

Ferrofluid's picture

Its critical not to lose domestic vehicle manufacturers, if we were at the mercy of 100% imported then we would be fleeced.
And the military angle is there too, no matter what anybody thinks of overseas offensive, home defense is vital.

There was an advert for a low cost US car by one of the big names, GM or Chrysler !! $13,000 so they can make low cost affordable, no frills cars if they put their mind to it.

calgarylady's picture

The event organizer won't comment on his fee, the ticket price or number of invitees, but says he expects around 1500 to attend.

Honestly, who in their right mind would spend money to see that creep? I guess there are lots of suckers right here in cowtown.

In our local paper today, the coordinator of Peace Calgary said "There's no doubt there will be protests in honour of the occasion. Many people remain furious with Bush for his record on human rights, torture and war in the Middle East. There's a number of people who would like to see him arrested."

Could be interesting ...

Bush sent bum buddy and party bagman from South Carolina, David Wilkins, in 2005.
When he arrived, he was painfully naive and lucky to be able to find us on a map.
He wasn't bad, just uninformed and a questionable choice.
Since the inauguration he's been called back but has admitted to having his eyes opened.

http://www.ottawacitizen.com/news/What+ambass...

Hope we didn't break him.
BTW- How's your slapshot?

calgarylady's picture

Entertaining article. Who knew Wilkins has a sense of humour? He actually seems likeable!

Beaverboy's picture

After all the northern exposure he is probably under Dem-suspicion till he gets reprogrammed in David Duke's lab.

Poor guy!

Yeah, I like it!

Snip - British Investor In Madoff Scheme, Kills Himself

"A retired British army major killed himself after losing his life savings in the alleged fraud perpetrated by U.S. financier Bernard Madoff, his son said Friday."

What is taking so long? Is there not enough evidence to arrest the asshole? Geez............

Truth_Critic's picture

that we'll never know. As unjust as it may seem, if we seal his fate, would we truncate our leads?

Study the symptoms not the virus...

I'm sure they were good people, too, like this retired British army major. He served his country in the military and contributed much to his community. Very sad.

Madoff has a lot of blood on his hands.

At least three banksters, assorted businessmen.

Not because he's a right wing gasbag, of course, but because he's violating Blogger's TOS agreement virtually every time he posts.

For good measure, I think we ought to report him to the FBI's counter-terrorism task force, Homeland Security and even Infragard.

Truth B Told's picture

you ought to know he's been outed as an FBI informant. He's a honey pot.

Of his and Hannitys off air love phone conversations.

That has to be one of the most offensive blogs I have ever seen. After the manifesto displayed by that asshole who shot up a church full of people because he couldn't do just what this Hal Turner is demanding, this guy should be in prison.

Thanks for posting the beautiful lenticular cloud formations. What a refreshing visual break from all the figurative stormclouds on the political horizon. Nothing like nature to reinvigorate the soul.

Touched in a figurative sense. Lets not be getting any ideas there.

Yeah, symbolic roses and chocolates for the ladies and manly handshakes sans the palm tickle to the guys.

And no hanky-panky after log off.

So/do/my Valentines agree?

Ugg, always gotta wall those words apart. They keep wanting to stick together. Kinda queer if you as me.

Agreed!

Your words are touching, Beaverboy!

I know, how about close and personal....

That photo looks gorgeous! Any info on the exposure and process?

Actually, that frame of the shot put through the HDR process would be EXTRAORDINARY!

seriously, awesome photos.

So only 3 Republicans voted for the Stimulus in Congress. That doesn't mean they don't want money from it sent to their states.

Here is Specter on the passage of the Stimulus Bill:

"When I came back to the cloak room after coming to the agreement a week ago today, one of my colleagues said, 'Arlen, I'm proud of you.' My Republican colleague said, 'Arlen, I'm proud of you.' I said, 'Are you going to vote with me?' And he said, 'No, I might have a primary.' And I said, 'Well, you know very well I'm going to have a primary.'

...

"I think there are a lot of people in the Republican caucus who are glad to see this action taken without their fingerprints, without their participation.

...

(When asked how many of his Republican colleagues really supported the bill:)
"I think a sizable number. I think a good part of the caucus agrees with the person I quoted, but I wouldn't want to begin to speculate on numbers."

Hmmmm.

Sooner or later they'll either get bipartisan or be gone altogether.

But should have put it here. Sorry. Thoughts anyone??

Federal obligations exceed world GDP
Does $65.5 trillion terrify anyone yet?

The total U.S. obligations, including Social Security and Medicare benefits to be paid in the future, effectively have placed the U.S. government in bankruptcy, even before new continuing social welfare obligation embedded in the massive spending plan are taken into account.

"Shy of the government severely slashing social welfare programs, federal deficits of this magnitude are beyond any hope of containment, government or otherwise,"

"The federal government is bankrupt," Williams told WND. "In a post-Enron world, if the federal government were a corporation such as General Motors, the president and senior Treasury officers would be in federal penitentiary."

Gorgeous photo. Anyone who visits Washington should visit Mt. St. Helens where they're allowing the area to be a living laboratory after a volcanic eruption. It's fascinating.
