It's all about timing!

Simon & Garfunkel Reunite, for ‘Scarborough F**k’

..could I be frist?!

I just wanted to say that watched "Boogie Man" on PBS eralier tonight, and I thought it was great. Brought back a lot of nasty memories of theose campaigns Atwater was involved in in the 80's.
It's a very useful piece from which to understand exactly how the Reugs "evolved" into the lying creeps they are today.

Normally, I have some sense of sympathy for a person who succumbs at a relatively early age from brain cancer, but in the case of Atwater, I'll make an exception. Karma must be real!!!

I'm watching it now, trying not to get sick. A common thread in all of these people featured in this film is that they are creepy. Atwater, Rove, Bush I, Bush II, McCain, Novak, and the list goes on. Nothing else matters but winning. They don't care how many people they hurt along the way. Come on Karma and get the rest of these sorry bastards!

I've been trying to find it online for a while now, no luck. I need my dose of disgust for the neocons, I need it badly:P

I saw this show, too. Atwater was really a nasty person. You could still see his influence in the McCain campaign only this time it didn't work. There were only so many dirty tricks that Atwater could pull before the public became aware of them. Karl Rove ran out of tricks. We have seen them all. One other thing that has had an impact on "Atwater" tricks is the Internet. McCain didn't vet Palin but the Internet users did.

Say, my connection to C&L went kaput this afternoon and then I got busy doing stuff that I should have been doing in the first place.

Good to see you back again ... I need to relax now!

Yeah my connection went kaput too. I just sat there and looked at the screen for an hour. I lead a pretty pathetic life.

C&L

went down on me too. Whoops, sorry C&L, didn't mean to imply anything.

... I thought it was just me. Hey, I did laundry, pruned a tree and made dinner!

Why

why do you have to make me feel worse than I already feel? Jeez. Now I will just go to bed. Thanks.

... can you please stay for a little while?

I didn't think the wife a I where kinky but, watching Rachel somehow turns acts as foreplay. We must be more conservative than we thought.

The cats must be Rhodes Scholars, too.

:)

My cat must be a republican. Ignors anything I say, flips me off with her tail, only cares about herself, pays NO taxes, makes me pay for her food, and starts wars with the cat next door for no reason. She does purrr when Keith and Rachel are on...the only reason I keep her.

Your cat sounds like mine. Kitties are very special animals, aren't they. Crafty, cute and mysterious at the same time.

Remember...

Dogs have masters,

Cats have staff.

And beware of Chairman Meow...

Good one, Dave Wolf!

TOO. CUTE.

:-)

and Obama hasn't even taken office yet.

Check out wingnut Mike Reagan (yeah, his son) and his "bold" plan to take the Dems out.

BTW, what is it with wingnuts and AllCaps and/or AllBold?

Let's start with the corrupt republicans first and set an example. We already have a list as long as your arm on repugs to start with.

How did you know about my arm?

Where else would you keep it where it's always handy?

:)

.

did you ever watch Freakazoid? I just loved that show.

the theme song ?

I remember it well. Thanks, fiver!

That, and Animaniacs were the best cartoons Warner Bros. ever made!

His adoptive son, his actual flesh and blood son is not nearly as caustic.

I think he has a complex about being adopted and then neglected by his father after the Reagan/Wyman divorce. His political 'beliefs' are perhaps just an attempt to get Daddy's attention and love even after he's been gone a long time.

Plus the fact that Nancy never really liked him. Definite inferiority complex going on there.

We need Rush to be dropped from Armed Forces Radio, call your congress critter. It would be shameful to have him spouting stuff to the troops with no semblance of facts against their commander in chief.

He must have used that word about the Obamas at least 20 times in the first hour this morning

I'm still very grateful Obama beat him and that ignorant woman.

"The Federal Election Commission is unlikely to conduct a potentially embarrassing audit of how Barack Obama raised and spent his presidential campaign’s record-shattering windfall, despite allegations of questionable donations and accounting that had the McCain campaign crying foul.'

Change and Transparency!

Ha!

I still have $50 left. I might have to make another contribution tonight, just for you. I still haven't donated my limit.

I can make it in your honor, if you like.

Kind of just rolls off the tongue, doesn't it?

Ha!

and I love the sound of it!

Time for zeds now ... adieu, mes amis.

Sarah, when will you learn to keep your mouth shut?

The campaign is over stupid, and it's now time to clean off the shit stain you and your fellow suckers smeared across the Nation.

Palin '12.

I'll take another ass whipping sir, thank you.

I think you should be more concerned about the $2 trillion dollars flying out of the back door of the treasury, un-accounted for; none of our business.

Please, jackass...spare us the flimsy corruption charge BS ok...
Wait until the 21st of January...then the corruption and criminal charges against the OH SO MANY rethugs will bring to light, how truly unAmerican the GOP is.

The KKK doesn't
take too kindly to people with second thoughts. Bishops think the Church and state should still be united.
Pelosi pretends to focus on the economy this time. If Germany can find Nazi death camp blue prints, she can find a crime committed by Bush. Bush finally gives in to separate-but-equal economic relief. Older item, but parents can't afford day care, for some reason. Prop. 8 proponents seem to forget that a majority of Americans once supported non-interracial marriage, slavery and segregation. So much for private schools being a helpful alternative to the economically disadvantaged. Most of them in L.A. are going broke. Obama marks Vets day with solemn respect, while Shrub indirectly admits he'll regret not being able to use our troops as pawns.

Bush actually said "send a clear message" yet again.

Since I haven't listened to Bush in five years but I have listened to McCain and Palin, I started thinking that Bush might not be the dumbest person alive. How wrong I was.

The guy literally has a grand total of 13 phrases in his phrase book. It's like he picked up "learn English in 30 days" and memorized how to say "thank you" and "where may I exchange money" .

English can't possibly be his first language. He spoke fluent German or Klingon as a kid, right?

thoughts:

I was going to make a joke about not having any first thoughts until I read that.

Cowardly, very sad.

You should see how McSame covers for Palin.

it. I suspect that these guys know the sad shape their party is in and are trying their best to "unify" early. Witness the Matt Lauer "family dinner" with the Palin klan.

Dems in the military.

Me luvs katz. Bet Rachel duz too.

There's an online petition to ask President-Elect Obama to appoint Dr. Linda Darling-Hammond, Secretary of Education. Dr. Darling-Hammond was on the Obama campaign's education team and there's more info on her at the petition.

http://www.petitiononline.com/DHammond/petiti...

Please check it out, sign it and spread the word.

Thanks.

Darling-Hammond is a functionary.

Hooks is the real deal.

The military is already cutting and running. The military also forces a propaganda version of Youtube on its soldiers. Congolese soldiers have been engaging in raping and pillaging. Various polls.

...and Ana Marie Cox

Two kitties that make me purrrr,

Oh, you just know those two pulled an all-nighter. And Rachel's tongue will be sore and tired today.

Ana Marie Cox is the sexiest woman alive.

Ana Marie is just the most awesomest woman alive!

She could have my childerns, and I'd be more prouder'n hell!

Offshore tax shelters for corporations is back in play, and Congress is too scared to say anything because of the existing financial crisis.

A plea to Obama

(PDF file)

No matter what John McCain does, from now, I can only see him as self-serving and an asshole.

I do --in fact-- have an "Obamahole": news just isn't the same.

Still glowing from the victory though. Well done my American friends. Welcome back to the real planet.

In theory, if Ted Stevens wins the Alaska Senate seat and GW Bush pardons him, there is actually no legal impediment to his rejoining the Senate, is there?

(I imagine though that the Senate could in theory throw him out with a large enough vote regardless of whether he's guilty or not).

If the old buzzard manages to get so far as another 'win' in the senate he would be as untouchable as a leper wearing a bell around his neck in the back of the church.

One wonders if rot is a natural state of affairs in AK considering the low-grade fare that's come out of the basement of late.

considering a Stevens pardon. No downside, for Shrub that is...

)O(

If the senate votes to impeach stevens, and not just evict, he would be disqualified for running for office.

Although of course there may be some kind of credentialling committee or deal struck to seat him in that eventuality for some quid quo pro.

World financial leaders urge emissions cut of 95% by 2050 - http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/4677f2ce-af47-11dd-...
A group of large financial institutional investors will on Tuesday call on rich countries to cut their emissions by up to 95 per cent by 2050, in the sector’s strongest demand yet on climate change.
The investor demands would require large developed economies such as the US, the European Union and Japan to go well beyond the climate change goals they have already discussed. Barack Obama, US president-elect, has promised cuts of 80 per cent by 2050, but without setting a firm 2020 goal. The EU has proposed cuts of 20 per cent by 2020.

And here's the truly ominous trend for the Republicans: Hispanic voters nationwide chose Obama over McCain by 67 percent to 31 percent. This is a huge shift from 2004, when George Bush won an estimated 44 percent of the Hispanic vote.
Hispanics constitute the nation's biggest and fastest-growing minority. Apparently they have no place in the "center-right America" of Republican fantasy.

oh my god thoes were done by the cook on my ship! i wondered if he was still belly robbing!

since thiers very little on here id like to say to any who care to read it, that 911 was a breeze compared to my 7th birthday , i woke up with the smell of my mothers bakeing a double layer chocklet cake, and was told my birthday present would be that my older sister would take me on the trolly downtown to the lowes victory show, by that time i was hooked on movies, anyway the reason i mention this is that yesterday i purchased an article at best buy and wrote a check for it and had to show my drivers liscience , the lady at the checkout said ,dec 7th no one will forget that day, i said yes i remember that day like it was yesterday, i was at the lowes theater waiting for the movie to start when a man came out on the stage, he said ladies and gentalmen the japanese have just attacked pearl harbor and any service personel will report to thier units or duty stations, then the theater lights came on, thier was silence for a few minutes , then i heard a lady behind me ask the guy she was with , wheres pearl harbor? he replied ,across the water, the world was a bigger place in 41 and being a 7 yr old kid the only water i knew of was the ohio river wich was only two blocks from my home, i felt panic ,my god the japs are on the otherside of the ohio river i thought , anyway we my sister and i got home my folks were gathered around the old dome shaped arvin radio we had listening to the news, it was a somber day but the days after were worse when the philippines feel wake island went under the brittish bastion of singapore was lost week after week the japs took every thing , it looked hopeless now thoes were scarey times just a memmory in time!
