I wish they'd get this health care done, so we can go back to talking about WAR CRIMES. Oh, joy! What a bundle America is in 2009!!

Budget "Agreement" reached.

There will be no new taxes, not even car registration.

Minority party (Repugs) forced Dems to do what Repug want: Cut programs for elderly, sick, children and unemployed.

The Dems were brave in one area though: The cuts won't be "permanent". Gee, thanks guys.

And the frickin' repugs would like to change the constitution so that ass can run for president and do for the country what he's done to Cal-ee-for-ee-uh. Yet they can't believe that Obama is a US Citizen born on US soil. Go figure! You couldn't make this shit up if you tried.

A judge said the CIA committed fraud in protecting itself from illegal spying charges. At least economic indicators are up. Obama refuses to pull a Clinton on health care. The Big Three networks care more about reality shows than Obama's next speech. Air pollution can fuck up kids' IQs.
Yet another delay on detainment policies. I guess all black people hanging around Harvard could be criminals.
Gates flip-flops on troop reductions. Mr. "Environmentor" managed to sneak in off-shore drilling into Santa Barbara. Chevron doesn't want to take responsibility for poisoning Ecuador. The AP tries to destroy Obamacare.

Maddow has something there with the corrections to a guest appearance. This should be the norm not an exception for Pat. This is something all the media shows should do. It really helps and it will make the wing nuts think twice before they say something.

Frankly, I have no idea why anyone in their right mind would watch anything so dumb as a bunch of liars sitting around lying? Politicians are so full of shit that it practically spills out of their ears. Yet, every week, there they are again on Meet the Press or any one of the other lie fests. Not only are they on TV, people actually seem to believe them when the shit falls out of their mouths. How many times have we all heard them lie, know that it's a lie and still believe that maybe this time they're not lying? Albert Einstein has been credited with saying: "Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." Face it, we must be insane. We let our glorious leaders lie to us and hope that one day they'll tell the truth and do something good for us, instead of their corporate masters. If they do by some miracle actually do something that we, they're constituents, demand they do, it will only be because their overlords allowed it. Otherwise, it's business as usual: screw the little guy and help the rich get richer.

Great, just what we need another Repug to tell us how reforming health-care will be a disaster.

From WaPo:

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) will wade into the national debate over health care this week by penning op-eds in Politico and the Wall Street Journal and appearing on a series of cable chat shows today and tomorrow.

This was kind of funny:

Jindal, who is widely regarded as one of the rising stars within the Republican party, was chosen to deliver the party's response to Obama's February address to Congress. His performance was, to be charitable, weak and turned him -- briefly -- into fodder for the late night talk shows due to his resemblance to one Kenneth the Page.

Allies of Jindal insist his disappearance from the national stage from February until, well, now, had everything to do with his engagement in the legislative session and nothing at all to do with his lackluster performance.

Oh yeah, he was just BUSY, not EMBARRASSED!!

I pledge allegiance to the Constitution of the United States of America, and to the republic which it established, one nation from many peoples, promising liberty and justice for all

"Goldman Sachs Group ’s move to increase compensation after posting record earnings shows Wall Street bankers have every incentive to increase risk, setting the stage for the next financial crisis, Paul Krugman says in his latest column. Wall Street firms, whose liabilities are now backed by an implicit government guarantee after receiving taxpayer-funded rescue funds, will need tighter regulation and a reform of their compensation policies to avoid an even bigger financial disaster in a few years, the Nobel prize-winning economist wrote in the New York Times." 7/21

Regulation of chemicals needs drastic overhaul - http://www.madison.com/tct/opinion/column/458940
The Environmental Protection Agency has been tasked with the simple yet profound charge "to protect human health and the environment." But EPA lacks the tools. We must overhaul the chemical regulatory process -- something that hasn't been undertaken in over 30 years. We need reform that protects both public health and the environment, and places the responsibility on chemical manufacturers to demonstrate the safety of their products.
This is a commonsense solution and long overdue. Unless we want to risk becoming like another recent film -- the sad, sterile world depicted in "Wall-E" -- rigorous and comprehensive testing of the chemicals in our environment is an absolute necessity. At the very least, we need to avoid the sequel, "Thank You for Ingesting Poison."

Judge Rules CIA Committed Fraud In Court - http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/07/20/judg...
WASHINGTON — A federal judge has ruled that CIA officials committed fraud to protect a former covert agent against an eavesdropping lawsuit and is considering sanctioning as many as six who have worked at the agency, including former CIA Director George Tenet.
According to court documents unsealed Monday, U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth referred a CIA attorney, Jeffrey Yeates, for disciplinary action. Lamberth also denied the CIA's renewed efforts under the Obama administration to keep the case secret because of what he calls the agency's "diminished credibility" and the "twisted history" in the case.

And, the GOP's goal is to kill reform to damage Obama and the Democratic Party -- even if that means great damage to the American people. The White House appears to be pulling out all the stops.
