Sarah Palin Gives Interview ,
{Deleted. Blogwhoring. I've let you slide for long enough. Knock it off.
SiteMonitor}
Not that the dude's blog is bad or anything, but I keep clicking on the links before I check to see who posted it and it always pisses me off that I wasted my time. I was starting to think this guy was one of your advertisers or something, C&L.
Reverend Billy!
Didn't this guy do his Rev. Billy shtick on Reno-911 a few seasons ago?
They do look a good deal alike, but the psycho preacher who locked up Dangle & Co. was an LA radio guy named Brian Phelps [The Mark and Brian Show].
I am tired of Christmas already...and it ain't even close to being over.
What ever happened to giving LOVE??
Yeah, I am a bah humbug person when it comes to having to buy shit for people (I do that all year when I see something that I think my friends and family will like. Unexpected and for no reason gifts mean so much more. IMHO, at least.)
Peer Pressure is a hell of a drug. Especially around the Holidays.
Working late at the office one Sunday night before Christmas years ago, dreading the "Holidays", listening to the late-night shrink giving out advice — basically white noise until she said, "Remember, it's your Christmas too! Have the Christmas YOU want!"
Turned out to be great advice.
I thought Reverend Billy was John Amato.
We need honest Election Reform Day.
We need solve the Anthrax Investigation Day.
We need National Election Day Holiday.
Get rid of all electronic voting machines and scanners.
I was thinking getting rid of the secret software from private corporations would be a step in the right direction.
Open source and a full paper trail with each person being given a confirmation receipt of their vote.
why electronic voting machines are needed because of what is going on in MN now. Intent, and all.
Just what we do not need...more EV machines as they are now.
make lousy gifts.
...ought to be a smashing success this year, what with the credit crunch and the economy tanking!
'Course, I've been pretty much celebrating BND almost every day since my job was "eliminated" a while back. I've sort of been gradually getting used to being poor, so all of the fallout from the coming depression will be less of a blow...! #:)
to a very exclusive elitest club.
that people will listen to the likes of Dobbs and Hannity about anything related to the economy and just how bad the dems are for their listeners/viewers since Dobbs and Hannity make more in a month than I probably will over a lifetime.
What a bunch of fucking idiots these people are.
I have always thought of myself as "special" - though not necessarily elite.
I'm not that all distressed about not working (well, except when I'm writing checks) as long as I can keep my access to the Intertubes.
Soon every day will be Buy Nothing Day.
Being poor offers a lot of freedom, if you look at it the right way. If you're wondering about your next meal, many of the world's problems are meaningless. Of course, you probably don't want to be that poor, but I hope you get my drift.
I don't consume much of anything. I can't be bothered: more work than pleasure. It doesn't make me happier, I learned a long time ago. All I want is "a warm hearth" and food on the table.
(Travel is another matter: I do that-- economically/no frills.)
Buy Nothing Day is on Novemebr 29 if you are outside North America. I did it last year, but it's like most days for me, so...

Question #8 - C. appoint additional Supreme Court justices who shared his views
Question #13 - E. certain permanent moral and political truths are accessible to human reason
Question #15 - E. Thomas Jefferson’s letters
When did they stop teaching civics in school? I had to pass a constitution test in 7th grade and again in junior year of high school.
Jeez...am I *THAT* old??
But in my obstreperous fashion, I suspect that some of the answers are debatable.

Question #33 - D. tax per person equals government spending per person
Some of the business questions were questionable to say the least. I was surprised that I got them all right. There were a couple of questions which I disagreed with all of the answers (a bit of framing going on, methinks).
You did better than me, though. :-(
I am so competitive sometimes. :-)
I tried to give 'em the answers they wanted. I'm not a big fan of international trade or specialization, necessarily, but the righties who composed the test are, so there you go--NAFTA and CAFTA and such will make the world and our economy a shining city on a hill, right? This reminds me of the "poll" that tested the intelligence of Obama supporters, but this one's considerably more subtle. I wonder why they want the personal info on the bottom of the page?
Excellent point. There was some not so veiled psychology in this test. However, some questions are better ignored, like that one.
You guys both did better than I did, I only got 25, and I am going to give myself a 26 correct, because after reviewing my answer and the correct answer to #31, they are the same thing. My answer is the same as the correct answer to #31, only the wording was different (my intent was the same)
No test is foolproof, so there is give and take here, somewhat, but when the average score of all taking it is 50%, thats kind of embarrassing. (I did miss the one on Gettysburg, and a few other ones I was clueless on, such as the question on why the Puritans fled England)
it just made a statement....the puritans....fill in the blank
14) The Puritans:
A. opposed all wars on moral grounds
B. stressed the sinfulness of all humanity
C. believed in complete religious freedom
D. colonized Utah under the leadership of Brigham Young
E. were Catholic missionaries escaping religious persecution
However, I still could not choose correctly between
A, B, or C
i really feel stupid...cuz i did an entire report on those debates in high school
the answer is not accurate, as all the debates dealt with the different aspects of slavery...including whether it was moral
High school was a long, long time ago. :-)
I did a major paper on Romania in college...and I bet I couldn't answer 10% of any questions now.
for not knowing basic civics
bugs me that i frequently forget who my local reps are
except for waxman...who is a superstar
I don't care much about local politics, which I should. I know that. But I don't follow that too much.
I know my congresscritters but not state senators and such...let alone local local.
I did better than I thought I would - but I alwyas liked multiple choice questions. If the answer is there in front of me, I can somehow spot it.
It's interesting to see which questions stumped each of us....

Question #33 - D. tax per person equals government spending per person
Show off. ;-)
Maybe I should run for office?!! #:}
I would love to personally administer this test to a number of Congress-critters - that would be a hoot!
administer it to Palin.
Heh.
1 out of 33. (Puritan!)
"NOW THAT'S FUNNY."
she definitely gets the electoral college wrong...cuz it wasnt one of the 5 colleges she attended
#:)
That thar's funny!
she did spout the little factoid someone whispered in her ear about the Turkey having been considered as the national "bird" before the Eagle.
That would be. I wish you could have asked these questions during the GOP debates? I know the DNC would have done much better. I can imagine McCain fumbling over his answer, or Rudy giggling his way out of his, or maybe Ron Paul goes on a rant about the Fed. Reserve
They say you don't need an I.Q. test. I believe them too.
i didnt look at yours before i answered...
You answered 28 out of 33 correctly — 84.85
i missed the following
Question #4 -
Question #13 -
Question #29 -
Question #30 -

I guess we weren't thinking. Apologies:(
Of course I havn't been to school for more years than most.

Answers to Your Missed Questions:
Question #5 - D. is a constitutionally mandated assembly that elects the president
Question #7 - D. Gettysburg Address
Question #10 - C. Religion
Question #14 - B. stressed the sinfulness of all humanity
Question #15 - E. Thomas Jefferson’s letters
Question #19 - B. teaching evolution in the schools
Question #25 - B. individual citizens create, exchange, and control goods and resources
Question #27 - A. the price system utilizes more local knowledge of means and ends
Question #29 - B. a resident can benefit from it without directly paying for it
Question #30 - C. decreasing taxes and increasing spending
Question #31 - A. an increase in a nation’s productivity
the answers can be argued...
the test should have been on facts...not economics
roosevelt would disagree with question 30...i answered how he would
and i think the debate question is unfair
29) A flood-control levee (or National Defense) is considered a public good because:
A. citizens value it as much as bread and medicine
B. a resident can benefit from it without directly paying for it
C. government construction contracts increase employment
D. insurance companies cannot afford to replace all houses after a flood
E. government pays for its construction, not citizens
Correct answer: E
My answer: B
Same thing.
and i also answered b...arent public works projects done for the benefit of the populace and they dont pay for it directly?
i say we all write to the testing guys and voice our outrage
citizens pay. With taxes. If the government could just up and pay for whatever without using tax money, the bailout would be no big deal, no? You may argue that levies and such can be paid by printing extra money, but in the end we pay for THAT too.
I think one is insurance (B) versus construction (E). Are you sure E was correct? I answered B and it said it was right.
Yep, thats what it said on my results
I KNOW I said B and got it right.
I must be mistaken. I thought I chose B though, guess not.
What they projected would happen wasn't what happened.
..arguing with teachers or profs about my well-reasoned, though incorrect answers. Didn't work out too often...
which is why i laugh everytime fox highlights some poor conservative kid who gets an f on a paper or test because it spouts conservative philosophy
most profs arent into being challenged, they just want you to parrot back what they have taught
its a life lesson
shoot...try working for a company and doing things your own way
youll be shitcanned within a week
I believe I have been..!
I took a test (multiple guess) and, being the anal retard that I am, I would not just circle the answer, but I would make notes as to why it was true or false or whatever. I circled the wrong thing but had the answer written out next to it. He marked it wrong.
I was livid! I asked him, which is more important, that I knew the answer or circled the wrong thing??
If he didn't change my grade, I was going to go to the department chair.
He changed it.
I didn't think of that. I can't edit it now, for some reason.
My bad.
baby jesus was going to give peace on Earth to the humans,
but baby jesus knows the Republicans would just return it because it doesn't fit
You always make me smile with your comments........:) Thanks!!
always ruining the fun for everyone. Maybe, BJ, you could arrange to Rapture all of them to wherever, and then give us the Peace?
Thanks for thinking of us..!
watch for the outrage from the right regarding school vouchers to start all over again
Blink 182's ex-drummer engages in a "frivolous" lawsuit for some reason. Russia's "democratic" government votes to move one step closer to President for life.Scientologists manage to buy off another country suspicious of the legality of its activities. Two Marines claim they're not guilty in a domestic murder case.
to president for life, but are russians stupid?
they have never been more flush with power since the fall of the old commie structure
the world looks at them more positively than they do america
why do they want to blow it?
makes me smile. :)
i had a civics prof in college...the dude was a full out socialist and a wack job....but he had a fun class
he also believed that despite all the saber rattling, the us would never truly try to have the soviet union fall, because we needed an "evil" to balance our "good"
and if they did fall, we would spend all of our time trying to create the next evil entity
and he was right
of course, he also didnt believe in soap...so he couldve been insane
I scored 32 out of 33, missed #15.
You're an even bigger show off! (wink)
Awesome! Props to you.
How sweet are you?!!!
Crap, that makes me look like a real bitch, huh? (pout)
But, your new assignment is to read Jefferson's papers for the next quiz which will be scheduled soon...
If the student is a troll here, they still won't pass unless they have crib notes. Then they will have a hard time reading the notes.
GOPnot4me, are you??
He's awesome!!
Just remembering some of the other trolls that seem to have disappeared. I kinda miss em.
after I posted that Palin and the turkey thing at TheZoo.
Just as expected, they love that shit.
Sick fucks.
THEY DIDN'T ASK ALL THE RIGHT QUESTIONS. The only right questions are the ones I KNOW THE ANSWERS TO.
cute.
Limited questions then, eh? (ducking and running)
O.K. smarty pants. Rub it in.
You know I loves ya!
I loves me too.
...thanks, odanny for posting the quiz - it was fun.
Got to get my beauty rest now.....hope everyone has a lovely weekend - wherever you may be....TTFN
Sweet dreams!
I didn't bother looking at the test: Canadian here.
I did take a full year of Canadian history (history major) at university, but don't remember a thing. Nothing really happened.
I guess we are polite and friendly, and somewhat dull. But we like it that way???? Better than having problems up to your eyeballs, isn't it?
29 out of the 33 for me.
What surprised me was the chart that showed elected officials scored lower than the general public.
Here are the ones that I missed:
Question #10 - C. Religion
Question #14 - B. stressed the sinfulness of all humanity
Question #31 - A. an increase in a nation’s productivity
Question #33 - D. tax per person equals government spending per person
Mark Kleiman at Same Facts offers an interesting biblical Precedent to Obama and Lieberman.
It should be very clear to LIEberman.
Digby also has a fascinating piece, this one on how fucked we can become in the next two months, before Obama takes office, with Bush, and his cronies, phoning it in.
Scary, scary stuff.
Bush trying to appoint rightwingers to permanent civil service positions is scarey
I have a flight out tomorrow so I need to hit the sack.
Sweet dreams to anyone out there. GNA.
I'm headed for the big bed meself. GNA.

Since the medical examiners can find nothing physically wrong with him. It just sounds right that he collapsed from inner pressures (what a lot of us call conscience, but hardly exists in the R's).
if i had to guess what happened he most probably had a bad bad memmory of christmass past, lots of teenage orgies, thoughts of his master bush cramming firecrackers up frogs rectums and how much money he would be able to steal in the comeing months !
You know things are changing when even a Utah judge acquits another judge of donating to Obama's campaign. [I'm not sure how it's "unethical", though.]
Bush finally does something useful. Be careful when driving this Thanksgiving.
A judge wants to acquit the woman who encouraged another woman commit suicide through MySpace. Don't forget. Free Dr. Pepper in honor of that Guns N Roses "comeback" album. Bush is an activist President.
i adore rev. billy - been following his crusade for years now.
during the rnc in new york in '04 he started the church of the first amendment. every tuesday he gathered the church at ground zero to recite the first amendment over and over. on the final night of the rnc, i caught up with him in union square, as he led us in the recitation. (got it all on tape too - yay!) was one of the greatest experiences of my life & i will never forget the thrill of so many of us chanting the first amendment over and over, louder and louder, as bush gave his speech just 20 blocks uptown. while the republicans preached fear and hate, billy preached freedom, liberty & respect.
thank you reverend billy for reminding us all that night what being an american really means. :)
Bush hates other countries engaging in protectionism.

Should High Government Officials Be Investigated and Prosecuted?
.
To this wonderful cause?
if i had to guess what the future holds for america i wouldnt be very optomistic , obama seems to think that more war is the answer and he promisses us thats his first priority in the comeing year, he seems to think that afganistan and ben laddens going to be worth going after , as if even if ol bens alive that his death will end terriosim, and what makes anyone believe we can turn americas fortunes around by an econmy based on produceing green power jobs , any thing worth saveing energy with will and is owned by the oil cartel, and who says thoes new jobs cant be outsourced, oh right obama says so, when in reality without real laws anyones job can and will be sent to china or india , the corporations own obama and own our government, just as they owned bush, we have been robbed and the robbers got away with it, obamas spokes people are allready telling us the next four yrs wont see much change by his administration, now theres something i can believe, and whats up with all this vampire worship by the young folks, and will they be happy when thier are real vampires prowling the earth at night in search of blood supplies, whats next wherewolve worship? when i was a kid you got scared at the movies seeing monsters my how times change now vampireism is sexy, and speaking of blood suckers bush is on cnn and its daylight!
Michael Moore: "We're seeing ... the end of capitalism as we know it....And I say good riddance."
capatalisim left america a long time ago, i believe it was just after the corporations stole the last bar of gold that was stored in ft knox, if i was a betting man id bet most of thoes bars of gold were shipped to the country that really owns america, israel, whats left is paper money, not much better then manopoly money, but its good enough to buy off a politician or two in the house and senate, god bless ried and palosi and all the other true patriots who dance to the corporations tunes, thiers more to come,
personaly i belive that anyone who cant or wont question thier leaders and presidents who make the decisions that affect us all are very sick puppys, when i see posters who say what ever obama says or does is fine with me ,i trust him implicitly, is the kind of person who would have made a wonderful follower of jim jones , thiers no excuse for anyone to follow thier leaders blindly when your freedoms and life is at stake,
