Hey Seattle! Tuesday Only! 20 Cent Hamburger & Fries!!! Happy Birthday 5 Point!
Democracy is too important to be entrusted to politicians.
Rise Up!
Protest!
I'd love to visit sometime. 5 Point is definitely interesting!
A bit closer to tonight's theme:
Elvis Presley - Army Haircut
Democracy is too important to be entrusted to politicians.
Rise Up!
Protest!
... and saves the rest of us the pain and agony.

In February Helen skewered Ann Coulter's last book.
Same thing goes for Sarah's tripe.
I love the way this guy intro's the video-- he rocks!! Coulter looks like an idiot. (She is not "owned" US-style, just made a fool.)
If You Hate Ann Coulter...THIS IS A MUST SEE!:

"If the US government enforced its banking laws like it did its park regulations, we wouldn't be
in this damn park in the first place." OCCUPY.!!
Helen certainly has a way with words! I like her style.
If Helen regularly ate bran there would be a lot less crap on the paper. The difference is subtle but there.

Yesterday HuffPo had at least 8 or 9 Tiger stories, nevermind the rest of the media I don't access. Effing unbelievable.

is always harping on and on about the press concentrating on non-stories but the HuffPo certainly indulges in fluff pieces and homeopathic woowoo.
Of course I do click on HuffPo frequently to find recent news items.
I suppose that if one doesn't want to see those kind of stories do not open the window.
'We, the People'............rimshot................hahahahahaha!
And really, not having a steady diet of shite, I find myself fascinated with little boxes that say things like 'Tiger has the biggest pecker ever' or whatever the celeb scandal of the minute is. Hell, half the time, I don't recognise these 'celebs,' because there's just too damned many of them. Time was when being famous was a rare thing. Now all it takes is being a talentless asshole and Poof! attention is yours to command.
I saw a best tits poll thing there, justified because they'd run a best pecs poll earlier.
me-oww!
I suppose that it helps pay the bills.
It's their content and they can do whatever they like with it, just like Slate or any other online news gatherer.
'We, the People'............rimshot................hahahahahaha!

I can't be all news, all the time. I'd go crazy, and for what? I think people should try to stay informed and keep a balance in their lives too. It's important to walk out the front door and be civil with the people we meet.
I believe even small good deeds and kindness are a service to all humanity. Act locally.

I'm not crticizing HuffPo, per se. They're providing what America wants, it draws readers, and that pays the bills. I go there daily to see what news/headlines they have up. Like miss_kitty says, I have no idea who
halfthree-fourths of the (cough) "celebrities" are, nor do I care, so I scroll past.My point was more about Tiger Woods's story taking over the media, as did Michael Jackson's.
Sometimes I do look at human interest and arts/science posts. I checked out the First Ladys' State Dinner gowns. Nothing wrong with that.

It works fine in Chrome 3.0.195.33, but Opera 10.10 (and earlier, back to 9.64 after something about this site changed to lock Opera out again) keeps telling me that crooksandliars.com is not available.
I'd rather not have to run to my backup browser just to read this one weblog; the only other site I regularly go to that gives me these problems is Windows Update (only runs in IE for obvious reasons).

I love and respect Tiger Woods and the way he plays his game. I will not however buy anything with the NIKE logo on it.
about Thom Hartmann's comments on Fascism.
http://newdeal.feri.org/wallace/haw23.htm
Mr. Wallace provides a very succinct description of the exact situation we find ourselves in 60-70 years after the fact. Everyone should give it a read.
US Fascism is exactly what we have according to this point from his article:
"Democracy to crush fascism internally must demonstrate its capacity to "make the trains run on time." It must develop the ability to keep people fully employed and at the same time balance the budget. It must put human beings first and dollars second. It must appeal to reason and decency and not to violence and deceit. We must not tolerate oppressive government or industrial oligarchy in the form of monopolies and cartels."
"Egotism is the anesthetic that dulls the pain of Stupidity" - Frank Leahy
plus Michael Jackson's corpse, we'd never stop hearing about it. It would be Afghanistan, 24/7.

... he wouldn't be in the middle of 12 (at last count) extra-marital affairs, so the collective interest of the media would be nil.
he might be.

Of course nobody's talking about how much the monthly premiums would "cost"....
Oh well. I'll be 60 in February and since I'm facing a fine/penalty for non-compliance (I'd rather die than pay a penny to any for-profit health insurance corporation) I'd rather cough up some change for a non-profit Medicare policy than EVER give a cent to the schmucks at AHIP.
Pffftttt!!!!!!

And Obama is better than Bush? What's he done so far? It seems to me that on all the major issues he's either upped the ante or played the status quo with Bush.
Anyone up for CT scan-causing radiation? Mullen admits he's sending his troops to certain death. Thanks for bringing back assault weapons, Dumbya.

Rush Limbaugh is what a smart person thinks a stupid bigot sounds like.

SCOTUS plans to expand Miranda, but will they castrate anti-fraud laws? Who'd have thought the "Guido State" would be for gay marriage? Separate-but-equal "public" option.
I cant tell if the the browser not loading right or the site still under construction?

Greenpeace's global warming ghosts of X-mas future. Oh, and the rest of the world wants something done about it, too. ACORN didn't do anything illegal.

Fox had Inhofe on this morning to discuss global warming. Guess how that went. Of course they had no one else on to fair or balance his bullshit.
Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.
He's headed to Copenhagen too I'm sure...to get his petroleum talking points in. He seems semi retarded to me.
So whassup with Tiger Woods
I haven't been keeping up.

We had Tillman in Iraq - they killed him - and still people pay little attention.
No use getting a golfer killed too, eh?

Good morning POP!

Pat Tillman was murdered in Afghanistan, just to make it clear.
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/12/09/world/middl...
...Pat Tillman couldn't have risen higher in the ranks of future NFL Hall-Of-Famers before serving and then having his life needlessly snuffed out so many years ago by "friendly fire".
Perhaps more football fans might have paid more attention at the time.
