How refreshing to have a president who can think for himself, express his ideas with elloquence, and not act like a pompus, defensive asshole with the press.
NOTE: while George W. Asshole is doing everything he can to 'spook the herd" Obama is trying to build the confidence of the citizenry and speaking to us as if we had brains in our heads.

About their last point -- what Americans can do to help conserve energy in small ways. People everywhere walk out of rooms and leave the lights on, and Obama says he goes around his house now, turning lights off that have been left on and he'll do it in the WH, too.
I wish lighting manufacturers would make a larger variety of attractive motion-sensor lights that can be used inside the home. I've done a lot of googling for such lights, and there just aren't many for inside, though there are lots of them for outside lighting.
I dream of rooms where the lights will come on when people walk in and turn off when they leave and there's no motion. You might have to wave a hand occasionally to keep the light on if you're doing sedentary work, but that would be fine with me.

It might be time to let some fresh blood do these "interviews". I guess the ego is the last thing to go.

I've never understood her appeal to people....every interview is a soap opera with her. Crappy sentimental music, the segments so chopped up and heavily edited...and what's with the lighting on this one!?? Only half the face lit, or is that some YouTube weirdness?

Watching the second to the last one with Michelle almost had me in tears. Talk about the most down to earth, real, genuine people. I was humbled.

Baba was asking questions that I have heard other people ask. "You said this--will you really do it?" We have been lied to by politicians so regularly that it is difficult to accept that someone in power may be telling the truth. THAT'S the weird part!

I think it's great that our new president is sexy as well as intelligent and articulate.
Check out these photos and video of him bodysurfing at Sandy Beach, Hawaii, last August when he was also visiting his grandmother. The picture of him standing barefoot on a big rock, tossing flowers into the surf in memory of his mother, brought tears to my eyes.

Can you believe that the War in Iraq - in which young people are being killed on a daily basis - was not even mentioned? Main street and Wall street. That's the focus.

The War in Iraq WAS mentioned, he said it was a war he didn't believe in, and it took the focus way from catching bin Laden. He wants a big feisty dog. He's gonna have to do a lot of scooping up poop once he gets into the admin.
When he mentioned about turning off lights and not having your mobile charger on, I went and disconnected mine right away. I have that damn thing on all day. I do switch off all the lights though.

I just can't help smiling and getting an uncharacteristic fuzzy feeling, every time I hear Mr. Obama speak, and realize we will soon have an actual thinking human in the White House.

to divorce Bill for having an affair even Barbara said she would date him. It's the power that a man has that draws Barbara to them and this isn't her first time with a Black powerful man either.
Maybe Babs is just remembering her first affair, as recounted in her book.
It's not the reason I voted for Obama, but I sure do think of it as a little bonus that he's so easy on the eye. I know I'd be checking him out if we met face-to-face and I remain cheerfully unrepentant about saying this.
Bottom line, though, is that it's smart guys who make me go weak in the knees. Our new President-Elect scores 100% in that category.

I don't see anything but a typical BaWa interview. She acts the same way with Hugo Chavez. This is just Barbara. I actually thought it was a good soft entertaining interview.
I'm surprised at how cogent Barbara Walters is in this interview. Of course she sticks to her vaselined lens and fluffy backdrop, as usual. But it's a pretty substantive interview for 20/20. And that's a very nice suit she's wearing.
I thought it looked like a 25-year-old tablecloth. A yucky green.
I caught a vibe from Barbara while watching on Wednesday.
I got the sense she had that "tenseness" I know I feel when I'm around a man I find attractive while in a professional setting.
I try so hard not to let on, or to act inappropriately, that I begin to tense up.
I watch The View a lot and noticed she was not her usual relaxed self.
I really didn't see it myself, but if I where in her position, I certainly would be checking him out. He is the epitome of a very hot man, smart, articulate, powerful and self assured. After 8 years of Bush it is so reassuring to have a Pres. we can be proud of. No more Texas accents, all the letters in a word pronounced, like the T's at the end of a word, important not impordene, how refreshing. Obama is just what we need as a nation, I can't wait.

Roy Cohen was in the closet, but I agree with you regarding Greenspan and Kissinger. Babs likes powerful men - maybe the looks aren't the package, but the illusion of power.
I used to see beautiful women hanging on to Kissinger like he was Brad Pitt, and wondered what the hell they saw in him. At the time, he was Nixon's SoS, and that probably was the reason. POWER.
