That Gang Murder In Chicago?

This story has been the top story on Drudge for the last day, you know since Obama is from Chicago.
As well as Malkin trying to take a jab at community organizing, and there for Obama:
Community organizing has not stopped Chicago’s teen violence epidemic. The Olympics will not solve this long-festering problem, either.
So if we are going to blame our politicians for murders that happen in their home towns, then can we talk about this?
An 18-year-old man is behind bars and a 17-year-old male is wanted in connection with the deadly stabbing of a teenage girl in West Chester.
Police arrested Khrendon Gray of Springfield Township early Friday morning and charged him with one count of murder. He appeared in court on Friday where a judge set his bond at $1 million.
Gray is accused of fatally stabbing 15-year-old Amber Robinson Thursday evening.On Friday afternoon, West Chester police issued an arrest warrant for 17-year-old Rashon Martin of Forest Park. The warrant is for complicity to commit murder in connection to the death of Robinson.
This case is very similar to the one in Chicago, an innocent teen being in the wrong place at the wrong time, except for the names and locations.
West Chester is where House Minority Leader John Boehner lives. As matter of fact this happened only a couple of miles from his house. Is the right going to start putting blame on Boehner for it?
Or how about the two charged with the crime. They are from Jean Schmidt’s district. When will Drudge post the headline; ‘Holy Schmidt: Jean Schmidt constituents charged with brutal murder of teenager’
It has been almost three weeks since the murder of Amber Robinson and I haven’t heard a peep out of the right on it. Apparently only the brutal murder of teens in the President’s hometown are worthy of mention. When it occurs close to home for Republicans then they just brush it under the carpet.

I'm not saying they did. I'm just saying that all the facts are in yet.
Why haven't Boner and Schmidt issued a denial that they ordered the killing of Amber Robinson? What are they hiding? Who else is involved in this conspirasy, Eric Cantor, maybe?
If every pol took a hit for every murder in his or her district, there wouldn't be many completely clean.

Rumor has it that after she was stabbed she was covered up with oak leaves and acorns. Since oak leaves are used to denote military rank, it's possible that this was a government sanctioned assassination. Ordered by Boner and Schmidt, perhaps?

This is rich. Glenn Beck said tonight that "you can't believe everything people tell you". He surely should know. I hope some of his fox holes were listening to him. Did you hear that, Ms. Malkin? We're ahead of Mr. Beck by about a zillion years but the others at Fox could benefit from his words.
The death of this kid is a tragedy, and the teens arrested will be punished. But this was not 'rival gangs'. The kids fighting here were from two different neighborhoods (Altgeld Gardens and Ville) who had been thrown together in an over-crowded highschool because the HS in Altgeld had been converted into a military academy. This is hardly an excuse for violence, but neither should it be characterized as a 'gang war'. When I was a kid I saw the same thing in my school -- where Italian and Polish kids would fight over who 'belonged' and who didn't.
My heart goes out to the all the families involved and my contempt goes out to the likes of Drudge for trying to score points on a teen's death.
Isn't it interesting that when African-American kids are involved it suddenly becomes 'Gang Related'
North Minneapolis is our area "ghetto" and, if you prefer a suburban atmosphere, it extends into Brooklyn Park where we had some racial violence of our own. Four white guys robbed a couple black guys, reportedly stripping one naked, while threatening them with an "AXE or HATCHET".

You are frustrated and I sure do understand. But sometimes you have to take a deep breath and remember there are still good things in your life. Sometimes that means taking your mind off one bad subject and letting something else take it's place. A good rant on anything relieves some of that frustration or maybe just a time out for a little while to let your frustration go away. There will always be time for anger but don't forget to make time to enjoy stuff too.

Brutal murders of honor students are only newsworthy if they are commited by black kids, no matter the race of the victim. May I also point out that the Drudge headline appears to be geared towards influencing the decision on whether or not Chicago gets the 2018 Olympics, which the President is lobbying for today.
If the actions of the Right and Drudge play any part in Chicago NOT getting the 2018 Olympics, then these guys have ACTIVELY deprived this country of (quite literally) tens of thousands of jobs and a billion dollars in revenue.

This is just my opinion. I think this President, a black man, would have never gotten where he is today by being a hard ass. He learned early on that to make any progress in this world, he would have to be able to give and take. Let's face it even our country wasn't ready for a kick ass take no names black man. I'm not sure he has the capability to kick butt, it just may not be in him. Sadly our political situation has gotten beyond doing what is right for the country and has instead become a party political battle field year around. We may have a President that is better than what we need or deserve.

Mr. Obama is an excellent orator and campaigner, and he seems like a sharp guy. And I would like to believe (maybe out of denial) that his heart is in the right place. But honestly, as a negotiator in domestic issues... so far I am not impressed, at all.

pop - I agree with your assessment of Obama's character in order to get where he is, but, now that he is there (he is after all, as far as he can get - he's the POTUS!), he needs to start kicking ass and taking names. He is now at the top - he has the power. NOW he needs to assert his authority and power and privilege and not care about what his opponents think of him. He needs to do the job he was elected to, and to which he sought. He was elected by WE THE PEOPLE, not the Senate (GOP & Dem), nor the Beltway pundits. Put your foot down, Mr. President, get your party in line, and get the things you were elected to do, done!

It was some citizens from a local community org that tried to save the kids life at the risk of their own.
Then theres that video of those G20 riot police in Pittsburgh doing that group photo with their 'trophy', that handcuffed kneeling forcible posed protester, they did a hunting style trophy group photo with their 'prey' forced into a humiliating submissive legs wide open, head forced back pose.

Forget the fact that SEVERAL people were involved in violence in one video, where the man taking the video is more concerned about getting his youtube scoop than worrying about whether a fellow human being may be in danger of dying. How many people committed violence in that one video? How many stood by and just watched? How much more violence goes on today, tomorrow, next week, next year?

There was the murder of the abortion doctor, the guard the Holocast Museum in D.C., the murder of the three policemen in Pittsburgh, and maybe the recent muder of the census worker.
All situations seem to have been influnced by the hate rhetoric of the Right. Bachmann railed against the census, O'Reilly demonized abortion doctors, the people doing the killings in Pittsburgh and D.C., made reference to Beck, in some shape or form.
They need to shine the light on themselves, but that's something they won't do.
who killed the people in the Tennessee Unitarian Church, Jim Adkisson, who left a note saying he targeted the congregation out of hatred for its liberal policies, including its acceptance of gays, or that POS from Everett WA who killed the Latino man and his 9 yo daughter, because she assumed they were drug dealers and wanted to rob them to finance more Reich Wing bullshit.
