The Angry faces of John McCain: Presidential Debate # 3
By John Amato Friday Oct 17, 2008 1:00pm
I heard Fred Barnes whining about Obama on the split screens, but McCain really gets hurt by this. He does look like the cranky old man who didn't get his morning newspaper. I heard that said by WFAN's Mike Francesa, a sports talk show host in NY, who is a huge McCain supporter.
John McCain has never treated Obama with any respect in the debates and his anger is palpable on the split screens.
The Benny Hill music was my idea...

Check out the review; this is hilarious: http://brainrageblog.blogspot.com/2008/10/hbo...
second best laugh of my day.
I'll bet this will be your third best laugh of the day (and everybody else's).
Just pull up the picture of Sarah Palin sitting in the Oval Office and start clicking on various objects (window shades, pictures, Bridge to Nowhere on the desk, the phone, the door to the office, trash can etc. Just keep clicking away and prepare to LYAO:

Word is out that Palin is doing SNL tomorrow night.
Oh boy.
what a hoot.
The crypt keeper blinked so much there was almost a strobe effect.
Any of them chimp-like?
laugh of my day. Thanks John! The music was appropriate.
If mcgramps doesn't watch out Lucy and Violet are going to draw a Jack-O-Lantern on the back of his head.
This creepy old man is what, a quarter of a century older than Obama? I think Grandpa was fidgeting so much because he had to go potty.
He's blinking in tongues!!!!
Thanks - new keyboard time! :)
I have no respect for McCain but such idiosyncracies are only fodder for the character politics that are peddled by the MSM and the ladies on the View. Focus on form not content is a slide toward tabloid journalism. By the same token, Obama's smile is equally irrelevant. Remember the great communicator, Reagan, and his quadrupling of the debt in the '80s while grinning the whole time.
pull that stick outa yer butt. Lighten up already.
Thanks, UC, I needed that.
Glad to help.
If this spot was heavily played over the next two weeks it would definitely cause a landslide for Obama and create huge coat tails for other Dems, it would infuriate Republicans and probably cause McCain to completely freak out:

Mr. McCain has some sort of physical ailment that is causing these strange expressions and movements. This is abundantly clear. We know little to nothing about his medical history. This is all we have to go on. People have guessed tardive dyskinesia, which is a good enough guess for me until we know for sure.
19 days to go.
[Two people can't have the exact same idea in your universe? Don't be rude-Sitemonitor]
Anyone remember the Bush/Gore debate in 2000? The one where Gore shook his head while Bush was syaing something stupid...the media jumped on Gore for being disrespectful. The media doesn't seem to be making anything out of McCain's body language, which reeks of contempt for Obama. Gotta love those double standards. The fact that Obama has kept his composure is a testament to his poise and professionalism.
Eat it, Blinky McBlinkerson!
The "ZERO?1!?1?one!?!" one.
whats post Bush world going to be?
I hope we aren't going to continue our slide into decadence that's for sure.
Is that dense times 10?
Charles Barkley said I'm not the role model YOU are the role model to your kids.
Probably the most under reported story ever.
UncleDave for the win!
Stop thinking of everything as competition. That's this countries biggest problem.
biggest problem is too many people with no sense of humor.
I have no idea what you're talking about.
Go Red Sox!
Tomorrow it's over.
Since my husband was born and raised in Tampa, he would join you when you say, Go Rays!
Very possibly. The Sox have dug their way out before, but there are only so many times they can get themselves this situation and not have the law of averages catch up with them. I'm glad I've been too busy following the campaigns to watch the playoffs. Oh, the agita. Maybe if we had McCain as one of the base coaches, his incessant blinking would distract the Rays into making a couple big errors.
See how I brought this one back on topic? ;)
Smooth! Nice rebound there at the end of your comment. Nice one! :)
BTW I live in Tarpon Springs
Anger, yes, but I see dementia. My Mum, bless her heart, had dementia and died a terrible death. It was a very prolonged and agonizing death. McCain's dementia is in it's early stages, but it is there imho.
No way McCains mind or anyone else in his age bracket can keep up with the modern frantic pace of change.
He should be enjoying his "golden years" instead of pretending he's a young man.
He has more disposable cash to blow then 98% of the population of the United States and he wants to play President.
Retire already John and salvage your wrecked reputation! Golf, enjoy the sun and fresh air.
Take Cheney with you while your at it.
he should be getting more in touch with his spiritual side. Notice I did not say religion. There is so much to enjoy in our twilight years (I'm 66) just not enough time to enjoy it all. So much to do and see and enjoy. A simple life is very rewarding.
BTW, I can plumb a house, wire a house, frame and do finish carpentry. Bake, sew all our clothes,(except undies) garden, preserve food, hunt and fish.
Time to teach our kids and grandkids how to survive in a harsh world. God knows, they are going to need it.
If your mum had dementia, was her death terrible to her or only to her survivors?
Imagine the possibilities
Old Johnny has almost as much gravitas as Bush.
How about the reference to the JFK Assassination as an "Intervention"...
Too scary to contemplate?? Here it is...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBAsHTSbkXs
Do your work.
Whats scary about a guy who doesn't even know what he's talking about most of the time on the debate stage and rambles off any random thought that pops into his head to sound like he's a historian?
It's kind of like when Larry Silverstein said that they decided to "just pull it" when referring to World Trade Center 7. It's kind of like when Rumsfelt said they shot down the plane over Pennsylvania. It's kind of like when the CIA refers to assassination plans as interventions. I guess I don't like ignoring blatant oddities. For instance RFK had around 13 bullets go off in the pantry where he was killed. Sirhan's gun didn't hold that many. JFK was shot in the front of the head, yet Oswald was behind him. It pisses me off. That's all.
JFK was shot in the back of the head. If would watch that horrible Zapruter film you can clearly see the back of his head blown off.
That question has never been answered clearly.
Pappy Bush and his boys have been in business for a very long time doing their 'interventions' whenever needed.
A little anthrax here, an unfortunate plane crash there, et cetera ...
There is a famous picture of him standing around with a bunch of other guys outside a courthouse.
http://www.tomflocco.com/fs/FbiMemoPhotoLinkB...
for the great link and picture. There's Pappy himself standing right in front of the School Book Depository.
My, my, why am I not surprised.
That's called an exit wound.
Funny how those secret service agents voluntarily decided to jump off the back of the Presidential limo all on their own - just before the shots were fired.
nah, they wouldn't do something against all their intensive training and protocols would they?
I still can't get over how it only took McCain 10 minutes before he accused Obama of "class warfare."
Well this is the mother of all issues. I want to hear "people we are not going to progress as a country if we are all at each others throats every second of the day trying to kill each other. It's time to STOP IT. We don't need to implode from within then go looking for pity or someone else to strike out at because of our character failings and lack of positive and productive values as a country."
So people are going to vote for this dork because they are afraid of a biracial man with some brains? America you get what you deserve.
They are afraid of life in general and want someone rough and tough to protect them from all the big bad bogeymen in the world. That's why they are voting for him. Peace is to much of a risk!
Now that Terror and Iraq are off the radar and the collapsing economy is front and center things are changing very rapidly.
It's still the ECONOMY McSchtupid!
The music makes it so good. The timing and everything.
What's with McCain sticking his tongue out. Can you imagine if Obama had the same mannerisms as McCain. I know one thing, he wouldn't have gotten the nomination if he had.
Seems like his id subconciously is causing a gag reflex because he actually hates himself and what he is doing.
One of McCain's new lines is that we can't have someone in the oval office on day one who has to study and learn what to do....instead we need someone with experience like McCain himself.
I mean just thinking of a man in McCain's condition making life and death decisions could give me nightmares.
Wouldn't it be nice if we had a Presidential University where people could study to become President. That the Constitution is a Sacred Trust between the Government and the People? Not a piece of paper to tossed in the trash can like George W Bush did his first day in Office 8 years ago?
Some times I wonder if McCain has been playing a part all his life. Doing what he had to do to get what he wanted, instead of just being who he is. Maybe he learned, for some reason early on, that it was one way to succeed.
I wonder if as he gets older, he is suppressing listening to his conscience. Maybe somewhere deep inside he regrets where he is and what he's done. But at this point, he can't turn back. He can't allow himself time to think for fear of what he would see in himself and in his life.
The prevailing attitude is the USA has betrayed not only itself but also those who believed in it. The USA crapped all over the world after people trusted it. 8 Years of Crapping on the World.
That's the Con Legacy
And adding a trillion bucks to the national debt in the last three weeks.
They kept alive the American tradition of dropping bombs on brown people.
Yeah lets kill millions in revenge for 911 and blow all the sympathy and support we had from world allies we had the days following.
Typical Bush Family prozac and jack daniels enhanced logic.

I mean all 3 of them sitting at the same table, what was the split screen all about? I'm glad it worked out the way it did but it looked all wrong for the format.
The guys in the control room are bored.
I think it is very important to be able to see both candidate's faces at all times during a debate. Their facial expressions are important and tell you a lot about them.
How do you go through that whole debate pulling out mugging clips of McCain and not include THE take of the night - when Obama says Joe the Plumber won't pay any fine for not having health care and McCain reacts like he's just seen a ghost?
McCain looks like he suffers from Tourette syndrome.
He suffers from being an old man in a young mans world.
As I watched the debates, I kept being reminded of the first televised debate (I watched it school). On TV, Kennedy was suave and debonair, while Nixon was a sweaty mess. (I heard that those who listened to him on the radio thought he did much better.)
McCain wasn't sweaty, but he was had this twitchy, grimacing, crazy-eyed tension that reinforced the Mr. Hot, do-you-want-this-guy-in-charge narrative, while Obama was cool and unflappable and presidential.
It's called megadoses (to stimulate his brain) of a mood enhancer. Problem is that they administred too much and he looked more like someone with hyperthyroidism and on steroids, too.
These "mood elevators" are de rigeur for severe depression and PTSD - both of which he suffers from.
Dude. I'm trying to draw a historical analogy.
Which psychotropic is affecting your mood?
I believe that we witnessed the pathology of the unmedicated John McCain at this past week's debate. My own children asked me if this man was a clown or an actor. What could I say to them? He's both - a very bad actor who makes a clown of himself in public.
Even children can see that something's profoundly wrong with John McCain at this point.
It's that obvious.
Children see right through adult bullshit. They still need to be guided and told what to do so they don't screw up their lives but they see right through all the phony adult facades.
that there used to be a time not long ago in this country where you got to a certain age you worked hard then you stepped aside and refined your gains in life and reflected on the positive things you contributed and gave back to society.
I don't know what started this trend of old bastards like Cheney pushing their way into Government just to pursue raw corrupt power or why we even permit it.
Those faces may work with the low knowledge base when they're coming from Palin, but they don't work on McCain at all.
He used some of those same expressions on Letterman. They weren't at all appealing there either.
Grow up John.
At his age it's to late to grow up if he already hasn't.
For the record- that's Boots Randolph's classic 1960's classic "Yakety Sax"
And, you know, it's classic.
The split screen had me constantly scratching my head... Who does this remind me of??? It drove me crazy, until the next morning and I realized it was like watching Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd. I'll leave it to you to decide who was who. ;-)
McCain's fits of blinking nearly gave me a seizure!
stupid.....
