"A Liar Named Ben".

When Greenspan was fed Chair, Our "green" money grew to "span" the globe and become everyones currency?

..and then Burnbanke came in and all the "banks" crashed and "burned". ...

And they then hired Neel Kashkari to oversee the bailout funds..."Cash-n-carry"?

The first time I heard Kashkari's name I thought cash-n-carry too. It's like the name for a character in a comedy. Fits so well.

they tried to look inept. they will be asked by our congress to accept $4.26Trillion.

failing up?

I actually believe, (call me crazy) that those names... Greenspan, Bernanke and Kashkari, are a big, (in our face) "fuck you America" ..."look how powerful we are"... "statement" ...by the "banking powers" that be.

I think Greenspan Bernanke and Kashkari were pre-selected long ago.

...groomed...

and then inserted into their respective positions on cue! mostly cuz of their names.

I think the Rockefeller Family and co. are still chuckling amongst themselves about it. ...seriously!

Bernanke knows how to print money, he is good at it.

The crisis will be contained when we have printed between $15 and $40 Trillion but by that time we will have a whole new set of problems.

Zimbabwe calling.

Here is Bloomberg with Tony Crescenzi of Miller Tabak speaking about the prospect of hyper inflation.

One Quadrillion is one thousand Trillion. We could get there with Bernanke.

lies, theft. incompetence. they used all of these same words to describe the rush to war in iraq. when can we get rid of these either bums, or crooks. Crooks and liars, great place for this guy.

as much about the current state of the economy as Bernacke...which is to say, nothing.

This fool thought things were contained as of Labor Day '08?

And couldn't see what was about to happen?

I can't go on...am just fucking speechless.

Not ONE MORE red cent given away until some of these crooks are in jail.

I hope the Obama administration repeals the federal reserve act and America goes back to coining and printing our own money with no federal reserve middleman anymore.

I also want a pony and a ferrari collection and my very own tropical island...

On presentation and format; that is a very difficult article to read.

80, I wouldn't be able to read it. The New Yorker needs to revamp the way they show articles.

It has letters, words, sentences and paragraphs. Were you looking for pictures too? ;)

I was hoping for pop-up format. :)

All your criteria have established is that it is technically some writing. A more readable font and a little more space between paragraphs would work wonders.

The real brains behind the White House appointees knew what he was doing as he appointed all who knew nothing but would follow orders. Bennie is clueless and has no idea what to do or even what to say. Hank was trained by John Ehrlichman convicted felon from Watergate. Gonzales was given a degree because of his race and for covering up Bush's DUI he was taken to the White House. Connie Rice is a friend of the Bush Family, speaks Russian and plays the piano. Rummy was living in the pass and make friends with Darth Cheney. The rest of the wing nuts were favors for money. Bennie still ask his Professor questions about economy as he really hasn't learned yet as we see. Yes Bennie the brainless and Alan Greenspan the crook who fooled us all.

a crook and a liar

I hope Obama replaces him promptly.

don't hold your breath. Obama has made no indication that he cares about the Fed and it's criminal activities.

Off Topic a bit (sorry John) but was just reading MSNBC and came across this little gem.....

WASHINGTON - Humbled and fighting for survival, Detroit’s once-mighty automakers appealed to Congress with a retooled case for a huge bailout Tuesday, pledging to slash workers, car lines and executive pay in return for a federal lifeline. GM said it wouldn’t last till New Year’s without an immediate $4 billion and could drag the entire industry down if it fails.

General Motors Corp., asking for as much as $18 billion to keep afloat and survive even worse economic storms, painted the direst portrait to date of what could happen if Congress doesn’t quickly step in.

“There isn’t a Plan B,” said Chief Operating Officer Fritz Henderson. “Absent support, frankly, the company just can’t fund its operations.”

but, when wrongdoing has been done by people in power and with authority they are executed. And I'm not really promoting execution...but the severity with which crimes are dealt with in China should give us pause and at least, consider something more severe than........mmmm--Nothing!
