New disgusting Robo Calls from the McCain camp...

How low can John McCain go?

The McCain campaign has authorized another vicious robocall that claims Barack Obama and Democrats would cut off funds for the military, have accused American troops of "war crimes," and pose a threat to national security.

A new cnn/zogby poll shows the race has tightened up. Obama's lead has fallen to 5 points with a 2.5 pt. margin for error. Something McCain is doing is working. These robo calls suck donkeys but maybe it's having an effect. I hope Obama and his campaign jump on the investigation into Palin's croneyism with the natural gas pipeline contract. They've got some good mud to sling with so I hope if the polls continue this way they start pulling them out and slam McCain.

...and FRIST! it's my first Frist :)

remember, popular vote dont mean shit

its all about the electoral college

and polls dont mean shit

we just have to make sure they dont steal the election again

robert kennedy thinks they already have...and bush just ordered the doj to investigated voter fraud in ohio...the fix may still be in

Recently, there was one of those “Cast your vote” sequences on a local TeeVee news station. In order to “Vote” you had to send a text message to the station on your cell-phone. The question was, “Do you think a text message is a valid means of determining a vote?”

Huh?

Push polls are bad enough.

I abstained…

Most political polls are paid for by the campaign that wants the “correct answer”. News media only report them because it’s part of the theater before the horse-race. The only poll that counts is on Nov 4th, and we’re lucky if even that one does.

It's time to rethink the Electoral College and then trash it!! If I lived in a western or midwestern state that had only a few electoral votes, I think I would be continuously angry that my vote generally has no effect on the outcome of national elections.

Getting rid of the Electoral votes would also greatly reduce the possibility that voter fraud could be perpetrated or actually have an effect on an important national election.

Agreed.

The infallibility of the “Founding Fathers” is a myth. They did, however, provide a means to change our Constitution over time. That ability should be used to eliminate the EC.

The Electoral College might have been a good idea in the 18th Century, but there is no use for it today.

Ignore any polls that don't resemble the average of the individual state polls.

National composite polls show Obama's lead increasing.

I think he is saying something at the very least about the military...criminals maybe?

"we've got to get the job done there [in Afghanistan] and that requires us to have enough troops so that we're not just air-raiding villages and killing civilians," Senator Barack Obama.

Here is really something to stir up thoughts...

"it’s also important that a president speaks to military service as an obligation not just of some, but of many. You know, I traveled, obviously, a lot over the last 19 months. And if you go to small towns, throughout the Midwest or the Southwest or the South, every town has tons of young people who are serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. That’s not always the case in other parts of the country, in more urban centers. And I think it’s important for the president to say, this is an important obligation. If we are going into war, then all of us go, not just some.” Senator Obama.... reinstatement of the draft possibly?

noting that Columbia had invited President Ahmadinejad of Iran to speak on the campus, but “haven’t invited ROTC to be on campus since 1969.”

Obama replied, “Yes, I think we’ve made a mistake on that. I recognize that there are students here who have differences in terms of military policy. But the notion that young people here at Columbia or anywhere, in any university, aren’t offered the choice, the option of participating in military service, I think is a mistake.”

I have been concerned about this election for some time now, Obama needs to fight with every fiber in his being to win this race. We need to pry our country from the claws of the crusty old white man. And the powers that be are not going to give up that easy.

Obama has done his part. Now it is up to America to do the rest.

Vote early. Lot less chance of error. And donate what you can. They seem to be using our funds wisely.

People are sick of this crap. It's curtains for these creeps.

Desperation. The new fragrance from McCain.

Part of the new FEAR collection? oooh oooh where do I get some?

I was afraid the Republicans would fall out of character and do something right and make me wonder if i was still on planet earth. Knowing that they are out there spreading fear as much as always comforts me in the knowledge that some things will always remain the same no matter how turbulent our world becomes. We can count on them to be immoral, repugnant and wrong. Now i can sleep.

a student journalist group has discovered (get this) that 13 people from the obama campaign registered incorrectly in ohio...thats right 13...they all withdrew their registration

ohio rules say that one gets residence if one resides for 30 days in the state and intends on staying after the election...none intended on staying....they misunderstood the election rules

lets see 13 compared to thousands purged from the voting roles

damn, these student journalists are good...and they all got face time on fox....hope they are proud of themselves

btw, if i ever see these bitches on the street...its the back of my strong pimp hand they will be investigating

The Obama campaign asked us to report all such smears, robocalls, and emails etc...

Cops prepare for election night riots

Los Angeles- Police throughout the US fear riots could break out if Democratic Sen. Barack Obama loses the presidential election to Republican Sen. John McCain.
Officials say the intense public interest and historic nature of the vote could lead to violent outbreaks if people are unhappy with the result, encounter problems casting their ballots or suspect voting irregularities. Police departments say they cannot rule out disorder and are mobilizing extra forces.
In Oakland, Calif., police will have tactical squads, SWAT teams and officers trained in riot control on standby. "We always to prepare for the worst," said Jeff Thomason, a police spokesman.

It looks like the superelites in power are preparing to battle the hordes of angry people when they are found to have rigged the "election".
Does anyone really think that the Republicans are just going to roll over and play dead? They've been working for the last 4 years preparing the way to steal this election too.

i would say that this is indicative that if in
fact Democrats do turn out in records numbers,
you can be sure there will be many "phony" riots
in Democratic precincts. this will be just one
more way the fucking reichwingneocons will use
to steal the election. You can count on this
happening. i hope i am wrong, but the fucking
gop has proven they will stoup to any low
to win.

Hell, THEY are the ones who sent THEIR operatives to Palm Beach in 2000 for the expressed purpose of STARTING A RIOT. They were fucking PROUD OF IT.

and stopped the recount, thats illegal election tampering, which was conducted by registered Republican campaign officials.
And the Repug biased Florida Supreme Court stepped in and legitimatized the terrorism.

Theres photographs clearly showing the recognizable faces of the rioting Republican officials stopping the recount, thats evidence that could be used in a future court trial.

Zed time here. Peace to all.

Obama's camp should not ignore any of this. They need to do their own robo calls. This is how Kerry lost by being too nice.

Obama has smartly picked to which outrageous attacks he should respond. As disgusting as this stuff is, it needs only a simple reply and not a dedicated campaign attack. By doing so, Obama will be playing McCain's game and falling into their argument. The fact is that McCain has decades longer "experience" than Obama, but that is not what matters, is it?

Rouge

Over at KOS there's a diary about Obama drawing 45,000 in Abq. vs McCain's 1,000. On CNN tonight Don Lemon was asking Dana Bash about the Rouge angle reported on at Politico. After wandering around, she blurted out that old stand by in political reporting ...... "Blood in the Water" to describe the McCain operation.

This last week will be Jurassic Fight Club in the McCain campaign.

Watch McCain on MTP this morning, he'll look like 40 miles of bad road, I promise.

Maybe where I live, its too insulated. There are Obama/Biden lawn signs everywhere. I believe that we will go on as a society just as we have during the Bush years. Yeah, we ain't happy but we ain't riotin' in the streets either. The Progressives can't start to play the dirty tricks of the right; it merely plays into their hands and gives the Hannity's and Limbaugh's ammunition. And should they try to steal the election, then they will have a fight on their hands. I am NOT expecting Sen. Obama to lose! I am not expecting the Democrats to go down without a massive legal challenge to anything the GOP(RIP)tries!

What made John McCain flip-flop on so many issues? Why is the Senator of 2000 so not like the candidate of 2008? Why would anyone think someone isn't pulling his strings the way Bush had his strings pulled? Granted, Bush was probably a willing puppet but why is McCain being allowed to be manipulated in this fashion? Does the idea of becoming President for him supersede his love of country? Is it now the only way he thinks he can become President: by taking the low road? Is rising higher in rank than his daddy or granddaddy by becoming President the only way he can validate his life? It sure looks that way! If reality is perception, why would he leave the perception with the electorate that he actually believes all the garbage he spews? Does he think Sen. Obama is really the awful person he portrays him to be? Its all about perception and what an awful perception the GOP has left on the minds of America and the world.

Thats pretty much all he has to offer as POTUS, his days are numbered due to his cancer, if he dies as a mere Senator his legacy is poor, he will be forgotten PDQ.
But if he dies in office as the heroic warhero POTUS, the world will stop for a day/week and much pomp and circumstance will occur.

He wants a fancy state funeral and his name in the history books.
And he is willing to foist the moron Palin on America as POTUS successor, as the price for his grandiose fantasy idea for his State Funeral.

He has nothing else to offer, his pathetic senate record proves this.

Obama visits Reno, takes on criticism
About 11,000 attend rally at UNR ballfield

With the finish line of a long and hard-fought presidential campaign looming into view, Democratic nominee Barack Obama told a Las Vegas crowd of 18,000 on Saturday not to stop fighting.

Obama tells crowd of 45,000 he'll create millions of jobs

---------------------------------

McCain, accompanied by his wife, Cindy, was greeted by 1,000 to 1,500 people earlier Saturday in Albuquerque,

The Arizona Republican stood under a giant American flag on Mesilla's historic plaza, telling a crowd of about 3,000 people under a blazing autumn sun ..........

So , yesterday McCain spoke to 4,500 people, Obama spoke to 74,000 people.
Now I know this doesn't mean much, but it cheers me up when I think of who's message is breaking through.

I doubt that many people really listen to that crap. As soon as I find that I am listening to a machine, I hang up.

I do find the fact that McCain has sunk to this level encouraging for Obama's chances though. The corporate MSM can gin up an occasional close poll to make this look like a horse race, but the desperation on the faces of the McCain people says different.

Except for Palin, she is clueless enough to still hope. She is the Sergent Schultz of this campaign, you know.
"I see nothing, I hear nothing, I know nothing."

Carson City — The mood at September’s rally for Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin was electric, near fervent.

The crowd of 5,000 in Carson City shouted out “Sarah!” They hung on her every word. They offered earsplitting applause, even to a speech nearly identical to the one she had just delivered at the Republican National Convention.

Palin’s rally in Reno this week, just over a month since her first Northern Nevada visit, was different.

The fire department estimated the crowd at 3,000, but it felt smaller in the cavernous Reno-Sparks Convention Center, which holds 10,000. The crowd still clearly loved her — as at Sen. Barack Obama’s rallies, much of the preaching is done to the converted — but it did not pop with the same energy that was so palpable in September.

More Cowbell

The old classics: Vote Democrat and DIE!!!

How can it possibly be fear inspiring at this point in time, with McCain's campaign in shambles? It just looks desperate, and it has to be said, pathetic.

It is a great American tradition since at least 1980 when the great omnipotent god of heaven and earth, Ronald Reagan did it!

Ronald Reagan... Wasn't he an Hollywood actor? Doesn't that, by current Republican standards, make him an un-American Hollywood elite?? ... Just making an observation

To be totally honest i have to say that he was the first President i felt was in the job for one reason and one reason only and that was to destroy America, but then came the two Bushes and Clinton in the middle did not make me feel all that confident either.

Ronald Reagan was an actor alright. He emoted very well on stage and convinced the population of the USA that by running up unheard amounts of debt, America would be stronger for it. And now, even these many years since he's past on to that great stage in the sky, his accolades still cling to that bit of fantasy that he so eloquently created: Basically, rich people deserve to get richer because they are rich. They don't need to pay taxes; taxes are for the little people in the middle and lower down. And the men and women swooned!

Ronald "Death Squad" Reagan is very much responsible for the mess we're in:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OiBWkNFtrEg

That is one annoying video.

"You know how I define the economic and social classes in this country? The upper class keeps all of the money, pays none of the taxes. The middle class pays all of the taxes, does all of the work. The poor are there... just to scare the shit out of the middle class. Keep 'em showing up at those jobs. " - George Carlin

Being poor or the threat of be becoming poor and dying in agony from some curable disease due to not being in a wage slave job with health insurance, scares a lot of people.
Ditto with being a renter rather than a home owner, renters suffer horribly from insecure accommodation, moving every so often to a new rent place, and always under the watchful and obsessed eye of some disapproving landlord on some morality issue.
Its no wonder everybody wants to buy and be their own king of the castle, no matter that mortgage debt keeps them prisoner and poor.

Ditto with the two million people in the American 'gulag' system, and the four million in the parole/probation system.
Misbehave, be human, try to enjoy life, think for ones self and suffer the consequences, thats the social engineering message pushed by so many MIC owned/controlled TV shows.

Of course when the health insurance becomes unaffordable to workers, mortgages evaporate and people lose homes for not much fault on their part, the social contracts collapse.
Law abiding and working people are pissed.

Reagan's meme was to shrink government. Who can forget his credo that "government is not the solution to the problem, it is the problem." What followed was thirty years of persistent and careless dismantling of a system, focused on empowering citizens, which had been carefully crafted over a thirty year time frame. Sure, there was waste and mismanagement, and there still is waste and mismanagement. Yet, the corporatists could not tolerate a system that was not focused entirely on corporate America's goals, and they put their man in power. Since then it has been all downhill. And now we find ourselves in our current fiasco - two wars, on the brink of depression, etc. etc.

The next time I hear somebody say how great things were under Reagan, I will say, "Yes they were because our government was working for the people before he became President, but it is because of him that we are in our current shithole."

If Obama's camp doesn't get the ads out on the the way Palin is distancing herself from McCain now, it's a disgrace.
Hey, "how can they expect you to believesupport them when they don't even believe/support each other?"

How does McCain 2000 sleep at night with McSame 2008?

Ever notice that the repugs have this need to take THEIR weakness, THEIR failings, and turn it on the opponent? I almost fell off my chair when I heard McSame say about Obama "he will do anything to get elected"

Sorta like how the AWOL Bush turned the unwashed masses against the War Hero.. sorta but.. we can't let it work again.

It can't happen again!

Today would be a good day to begin a petititon to WFTV, Orlando, for these ridiculous charges in the Joe Biden interview. This woman is a twisted individual who needs to be removed from the air.

Send this link to everyone you know and let's press WFTV for the immediate removal of Barbara Evans, the hate monger, from the air waves.

http://thinkprogress.org/2008/10/25/biden-mar...

These Republicans are getting very desperate and are trying to divide this country even more with their smears. The only thing it's doing is sending more people to the polls to vote for Obama but to most american viewers, this type of behavior if repulsive and repugnant - not to mention low-brow and totally sleazy.

Why does Brian Kilmeade the (twice) terrorist supporter still have a job at Faux.

Brian Kilmeade who seems to be a fan of terrorism, judging by his comments on Faux

FOX Anchor (Kilmeade) calls for Terrorist Car Bombings In Iran http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mH3BTaWrQ3I

Fox Host (Kilmeade) Says Dissenters Should Be Tased (and beaten to a pulp) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ss_XAbaoAuY

and he still has job at Faux, and still is on TV broadcasting his terroristic filth. Nice to know the companies who advertise on Fox Cable condone terrorism and the deaths of innocent men women and children in other countries as promoted by Kilmeade and Fox.

Surely what Kilmeade said on those two occasions is illegal under the Patriot Act, he should be arrested and tried for aiding, abetting and promoting terrorism.

Looks like McCain violated an FEC law and the DCC lawsuit will be filed tomorrow.

He'll now have to dodge his own criminal investigation this coming week.

It seems to never end for the McCain campaign... Good!

To a nicer schmuck.

Glossed over the fact that McCain voted against many Veterans packages, and the ones Obama voted against was due to poor language, and lack of timeline for troop withdrawal.

I guess clouding the issues with facts is messing up McCains' campaign... again.

I believe it was Goebbels who uttered the (para)phrase:

"Repeat a lie often enough, and it becomes the truth"

This is what the McCain campaign has come down to, virulent and scurrilous PROPAGANDA.

They are playing to the gullibility of the sheep out there, but I think some of the sheep have grown a backbone and become the wolf. They're not listening to the lies. Ask any veteran, we can't be bullshitted anymore.

I have called fellow Veterans in Ohio and Pennsylvania on behalf of Obama, and the overwhelming majority I have talked to were either voting for Obama, or leaning toward Obama. And that includes elderly WW2 vets that are damn sick and tired of the abuse Republican policies have heaped upon the veterans of all wars, aided by McCain's NON-SUPPORT of veterans issues.

I faced combat conditions when I served, and now it's time to combat lies here. It's another battle to me, and I think this time we're gonna win.

in primetime later this week ought to address all this nonsense, no? McCain's message will be completely drowned out by the calls for an Obama presidency. It's not going to be close.

This last round seems to go so far over the line--would it be possible for Obama and/or the DNC to sue for libel?

Obama accused US soldiers of war crimes? When?

Too bad nobody has admitted US generals' involvement in war crimes. The "Vietnam position" used at Abu Ghraib wasn't invented by 20 year old kids.

It came straight from the DoD, official policy.
And its claimed Rumsfeld still has an office there even tho he isnt on the gov payroll anymore !!!!!!
They used US gov resources to get him out of France and onto a US airbase in Germany, when the French police went to enforce that warcrimes warrant last year.

Its secret government inside visible government, something that is illegal under the US constitutional system.

Are these robo calls being exposed on any media or are they allowed to run rampant? It's very Stalinesque. They must be brought out into the open and neutralised ASAP. They are acts of terrorism, don't let them get away with it.I hope Obama ads are on it.

Confusing issues here. We have committed war crimes and continue to do so. Our attack on Iraq was a supreme violation of international law.

Also, our National Security Strategy of American hegemony is a guarantee of endless, senseless war and violence. But this is not a democratic phenomenon, it is the fault of both parties.

Our stupid wars have endangered US citizens, not helped them.

Yes, we should cut the military budget, and reduce their aggressive footprint in the world. Yes, we should be concerned that an Obama or McCain presidency will bring more of the same death and destruction to America.

Who cares what career military personnel think of presidential candidates? I find no value in those endorsements.

"Who cares what career military personnel think of presidential candidates? I find no value in those endorsements."

When they care enough we will end up with a coup and a Junta.

IMHO there was evidence that what happened seven years ago almost showed signs of a military coup, GWB staying put at that school (publicly known venue for GWB visit) while airliners wandered the unprotected sky looking for targets...

Chimpy in that video looked like somebody who had been given an ultimatum or been told of a fait accompli , he had that glazed look of the rabbit in the car headlights.

LIHOP but they prob were hoping to get the planes in the air.

Sane people play computer wargames to get their thrills, Generals play real war games to get their rocks off.
Of course Generals dont have to live with the consequences of the unknown tens of thousands killed and maimed by their actions.
A few crocodile tears for the cameras, some fancy pompous flag ceremonies and they go back to their offices and country clubs and dream of the next bloodbath.

Relax people, McCain and Caribou Barbie are doing the Democrats and Obama the biggest favour possible with their campaign.

Before I get to that however I'd fist like to speak a little about the polls and why they will be shown to be incredibly wrong come election day.

1) 25% of households in the USA are cell-phone only and are not properly - or at all - reflected in any polling numbers you may see. The large majority of these households are in the 18-34 age bracket.

2) In past Presidential Elections only about 50% of the electorate could actually be bothered to get off their ass to vote. This disproportionately favoured the Republicans - so the underlying paradigms of many polls I would suggest skew the numbers with regard to models based on previous elections.

a) The hard core Republicans (those who are just marginally to the left of Ghengis Khan) make up about 40% of the "Base". How does that translate into electoral numbers? Well that is 40% of 50% of 50% (the election usually splits around about 50-50 between Republicans and Democrats and only 50% of the eligible population votes) so the Republican base actually only reflects approx. 10% of potential voters. These are the people who scream the loudest and are reported on in the press.

b) Traditional republicans (notice I spelled it with a small "r") have seen their party mutilated and although they are not reflected in media coverage I would suggest that even if they are not going to vote for a Democrat, many of them will quite likely not vote at all this time around.

So the group I mentioned in 2) subsection a) are the choir that McCain and McMILF are preaching to and who would probably have gone out to vote anyway in the numbers that they have in the past.

The group I mentioned in 2) subsection b) will be as disgusted by the campaign the Republicans are waging as Democrats themselves are and will be heavily demotivated.

Also if one takes a look at the REAL polls (i.e. the numbers gleaned from early voters) there's a complete reversal of the trend of previous elections where it was normally the Republicans who took a lead - now they are trailing in many cases by a Democratic majority of 2-1 and in Florida Obama has a slight lead (which is huge news when one considers that the demographics of early voters is older white people).

So yes it will be a wipe out, and as finally the call to "throw the bums out" is heeded 400 EVs are within grasp.

Who knew Satan used a computerized autodialer and a computer-delivered recorded message, I always thought he used the faux machine….with that skreecheeeeeeee.
Satan is even going to release a new cd with Pallin as a special guest -singing a duet “Highway to Hell For America" and their new release-“McCain, You'd Better Watch Your Back!!- and “Reign of terror =Armageddon.” and “It`s Either White Or Black”.
And the number 1 song on the c/d with special guests singers-Bush and Cheney-
"In The Name Of God" - More People Have Been Killed Than "Satan" Ever Did.” ….with Sarah on the cowbells.

Makes perfect Republican sense to build a road to a ghost bridge you are not planning on building, but if you dont build the highway they will ask for the money back for the bridge.

IOKIYAR

Ghost bridge-haha

After two years of this long road it's over for me and the hubbie. We are officially of the demographic older white people because we got it over with -- and everyone who can please early vote!

If the votes are not counted properly, then they will have to be counted again and again, live on CSpan if necessary. This shit has been too much of a drain and it's obvious who should win (and I don't mean Sarah the Endtimer.)

You can play the "veteran" card occasionally with some success, but if you play it every hand you'll get called on it... by veterans. McCain already has.

Does he work for the mcgramps campaign now?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7rjLQuW2nQ

I wish some president would cut funds for the military, prosecute government officials and both high and low levels of the military for war crimes, and quit slaughtering people and destroying countries. But both Democrats and Republicans are war mongers.

I can see it now, McCain will bring in one of Barack's elementary school teachers to say that he passed notes during class when he was 10. Right now, I wouldn't put it past him.

DESPARATION.

And I'm gonna be the first one raiding the gun shop. Three stolen elections in a row would make America no different from Zimbabwe.

BTW

Obama should do some robocalls and remind everyone that the U.S.'s last successful war effort was World War 2, when a DEMOCRAT was running the country: FDR.

McCain may be a war hero, but he wasn't running the Vietnam war, and if he were, he certainly wouldn't be someone we'd be looking at to run this one.
