Interesting. Their political donations and lobbying are almost a 50/50 split between Dems and Rethugs. Hmmm. Wonder what kind of reform you'll get?
The media has waffled on calling the death panel scam a lie. Just like they abdicated reason with kerry and the swiftboaters. Just like they abdicated reason and journalism with the Iraq war buildup.
How about a liberal mass media boycott? We bow out of the news talking head bs cycle and let them know. If it is big enough. they will feel it in the ratings...
Since the "death panel" lie was so successful, the Republicans will be ratching up the propaganda and distortions for the remaining few weeks before Congress returns to D.C.
Next talking point up: Obama will use a pandemic disease or natural disaster as an excuse to declare martial law and "take over" (presumably his marxist-socialist agenda).
See how nicely they dovetail their lies?
The WH has declined to comment on this new lie. (Once again, waiting until it takes hold and then it won't matter *what* they say).
Just a couple of observations:
First, you misspelled "Cheat" Sheet.
Second: A note to all... today is the 74th anniversary of the Social Security Act being signed into law by FDR.
Except for Rachel Maddow. She is the only one who does real journalism...
Rachel's delivery comes off as she is some kind of teenager wannabe, trying to stay in the cool crowd. Don't get me wrong, she is usually awesome, but she sounds like she wants to remain a relevant teen. It's kind of annoying. Just like KO. Agree with alot of what he says, but his delivery starts to grate on the nerves after awhile. They sound more and more like Hollywood programming all the time.
Good observation cc. I like Rachael too and continue to listen to her. I watched her a little before her slot began on msnbc and she did not have quite the same persona. It's like her producers whispered in her ear "Turn up the snark a little bit."
Still head and shoulders above the rest.
that everyone is copying Nancy Grace's vocal delivery and pacing, and also adding in their own snide, judgemental comments that have no place in a "news" broadcast.
KO needs to stop with the silly voice impressions...and both Maddow and KO need to get a bit more serious, but other than that, I like the MSNBC line-up except for Tweety and scarboy...would like to see more Shuster, and O'Donnell.
I'm a little confused about a couple aspects of the health care "debate."
Is the town hall format a necessary or desirable part of the process here? Is it just a really personable, but really small poll? Does it matter if all town halls are shut down, because the senators and congressmen can still read opinion polls?
Another question is, what's the benefit to the right in distracting people away from the actual facts of the actual debate? We're not voting on this thing, our representatives are, right?
Nangleator....Republicans count on democrats being spineless.
They scared off all criticism of the Iraq War by calling anyone who said they were against it a traitor. Democrats lost their spine and lay down so the republicans could piss on their faces...
Democrats are afraid of loud noises and hard words. and will never say a lie is a lie, they will say it is a misrepresentation or an obfuscation, or a mischaracterization...
The press won't do any research and in the end the democrat is the guy who stare at the ground when someone calls them a chump in their face...
1] Town halls are a way for congresscritters to talk to and hear from their constituents. They are not unique to the health care "debate". Many congressmen routinely hold them (dozens or even hundreds of times). I suspect that previous meetings were somewhat quiet affairs.
2] Empty cans make the loudest noise. If enough of our representatives hear (unfounded but real) fear from their constituents they will vote against reform.
The answer to your second question is that they want this thing to fail and as a result they want this president to fail. The attention they are getting is priceless toward helping them achieve their goal. They invented the death panels so they would have something to focus on with their hate and determination. Sadly, it seems to be working for them.

the demoCRAPTS did not grow up ( or they would have backbone ) in my household ( teamsters , Ironwokers , Steelworkers , Millwrights ) explain to me again why 70+ of the US , rolls over to the repugs . Spinless indeed , whats it going to take , or is congress really bought and paid for , who would of thought it , shit pie knock me over with a feather .
Mika said this morning she hopes there will be more "friction" at the president's town hall meeting today. I'm not sure what she means by friction but let's hope a fu*king gun battle doesn't break out. Personally I would choose to have a little less friction right now. Let's not heat up the stew of these angry people any more than it already is.
point fist fights and clubs are sounding pretty G/D good .
Jon Stewart nailed Glenn Beck last night. He showed old clips of Glenn bashing the American health care system. This was after Glenn got something taken off his butt and he was complaining that the health care system in this country could just about kill you. Then he showed a recent clip where Beck said we have the best health care system in the world. It was just too funny.
Racism. I have been attacked here by some when their nerves have been touched because the truth is that a society that started off thinking white is superior to any other color described population has a long, long way to go. This presidency proves my point! Its an American national psyche problem that needs to be faced before it can be dealt with squarely. Denial will guaratee coninued racist sentiments among the frightened, subservient populations.
Its national news but look at the audiences. What do you see?
babble away before each other in their high towers of TV Studioism all they want but they will be all be gone at some point leaving no real impression on anything except the canvas of their own personal Karma.
Sorry, can't read, too busy texting!
It's absolutely idiotic to listen to Rove or read him without looking for how he's using weasel words.
I get the message
"Page not found

or euthenasia, it was referred to as "voiding a living will." That wasn't sensational enough, so it was dumbed down to the buzzwords that today pass for "facts."
