Obama May Add 30,000 Troops in Afghanistan
By HELENE COOPER and ERIC SCHMITT

President Obama's aides signaled that he would send as many as 30,000 additional American troops, but the total number remained in flux.

I heard distinctly several times, 34,000 or 35,000.

I never heard 30,000.

I never heard "He may send." I heard "Obama has announced he is sending."

Hey, maybe it was "He may send 30. The number is still in flux but he probably won't send any."

Or "Obama's aides signalled that we are pulling out of Afghanistan A.S.A.P."

It doesn't sound sexy for nothin'.

I understand. I have to admit, this is a side issue, not a vital issue like that billboard in Colorado.

Keep this 35,000 additional troops issue tamped down, we don't want trouble right now. It's not good for Obama.

gotta look tough, you know! gotta appease (R)ahm and Netanyahu. keep the russians from building a pipeline in afghanistan; gotta protect the oil companies as they rape Iraq and put the squeeze on Iran from both sides(just in case you were wondering why blackwater/sardukuar is still in both countries).

Obama's Afghan strategy announcement expected

Nov. 24: MSNBC military analyst Col. Jack Jacobs discusses the latest reports of President Obama's expected announcement to increase the number of troops in Afghanistan.

Nov. 24: Rep. Alan Grayson, D-Fla., discusses whether changing the anti-filibuster protection for health reform legislation is realistic.

explains how these lying hypocrites can make such outlandish claims with a stright face.

They have spent their whole lives practicing the art of lying. Everyone in the msm and in pollitics has practiced lying for their entire lives. Their whole lives are lies!
republicanism/conservatism is a mental illness that is killing America!

"republicanism/conservatism is a mental illness that is killing America!"

Be thankful. We have a new president who SHUNS this mental illness and it's killing effect on America. We're safe. We won. We are in the majority. They are powerless yammering losers. I'd almost forgotten conservatives exist, this is such a fine new day in America.

I mean, really. The airwaves are lousy with 'conservatives,' the media falls over backwards to present 'conservatives' to assure 'balance,' and Sarah Palin is on a book tour.

They're far from powerless, not as long as there are people who can listen to losers like Glenn Beck and Chuckles the Ninja and think, "Gosh, they're right! Gotta arm up and fight the socialists!"

I'd feel safer if the Bush Administration were on trial for war crimes. Safer still if Obama had respected his promises about FISA, instead of voting for the weak-sauce compromise that Steny Hoyer and Harry Reid brought us.

But safe? Hardly. Not when the same eliminationist/racist diatribes we've heard again and again - anti-black, anti-Chinese, anti-Japanese, anti-Hispanic - keep recurring.

Your irony radar is failing you here.

Carly is a leftist by my reckoning.

That from a comrade, and perception is relative.

(S)he (gender is never known until it is stated) has made one of the great observations in my humble estimation. I won't link it now, but I will remember.

I will try again to point out from this:

republicanism/conservatism is a mental illness that is killing America!

It is NOT a mental illness. It IS a moral illness.

I really do not see how a dishonet leftist is better than a dishonest conservative.

You should explain yourself more fully.

Who is being dishonest?

My comment on the socialist versus the conservative here

I was just noting my dealings with Carly without being too aggressive about it. They have certainly been more than willing to apply different standards based on who they are juding, which invalidates any sort of "it is alright, they are with us" sort of statement to me.

I am not able to follow logic that is predicated on specifics without any specifics being provided.

... is not that they are liars first and foremost, but that they have bought into someone else's definition of 'objective'.

Objective does not mean 2+3=5 gets equal time alongside 2+2=4. Nor is refusing to teach 'invisible strings from heaven' as an alternative to the Theory of Gravity a failure to address the 'controversy.'

Objective fact (and objective journalism) nonetheless calls for judgments to be made, usually in favor of empirical evidence. It is avoiding personal bias and interests that we should be mindful of - and for those who think Limbaugh and his ilk are 'unbiased,' I've got more than a few bridges to sell.

Lou Dobbs Weighs Senate Run, as a Steppingstone
By DAVID M. HALBFINGER

A spokesman for the former anchor Lou Dobbs said he may run against Senator Robert Menendez of New Jersey.

Sanford Impeachment Considered
By SHAILA DEWAN

A group of South Carolina lawmakers is weighing whether a series of ethics charges and performance issues were grave enough to warrant Gov. Mark Sanford's removal from office.

Soooooo, Sen. Mary Landrieu was called a "prostitute" by those two mental midgets, beck & limpbaugh, for the Medicaid and claiming she sold her vote. Well, that plays so well for their audience; their audience must have lapped it up like little dogs. Then, there's gov. jindal who would rather not take the dirty stimulus money rallying for the Medicaid bail-out. Will today be his turn to be called a "prostitute" or will he be worshipped as the hero in all of this? At what point will conservatives stand up and say that beck and limpbaugh were wrong and should apologize to Sen. Landrieu? If I were Mr. Landrieu and it were two hundred years ago, I'd smack each of them with my glove and then, (deleted by me due to references to a cutlass, a musket round and empty space between the ears of the people smacked). Sometimes, living in an enlightened society can be rough! I hope the real Mr. Landrieu is more enlightened than me.

usually a repug, with nothing but disdain for the constituents, especially when a significant number are poor and/or minorities. it is no mistake that they have the worst justice systems to go along with the worst education to go along with the worst healthcare. but these same self-hating constituents will give you a proud, three-toothed smile and tell you to keep your gubmint hands off their medicaid. even if you remove the diebold effect, these are ELECTED officials. there's a lot of dumb people down there.
