No one will be surprised that Todd Kincannon, former Southern Carolina Republican Party chairman is tweeting racist nonsense. It's just that this racist nonsense is, even by conservative standards, pretty blatant and ugly.

What you may not know about Todd Kincannon, however, is that he's been on a tear over Twitter's policy of suspending abusive users. I wrote about it back in December, when I noted that he was abusing their algorithms to get people suspended on the left who he didn't care for. Of course, reality was something else entirely, because the algorithm didn't pay much attention to whether someone was liberal or conservative, and so people on all sides of the debate were suspended.

Since then, Kincannon has switched to claiming that liberals intentionally try to silence conservatives online by using the "Gulag" to silence them. Not only has he made this claim, but he is raising money online by making it. Here's a screenshot of part of the page he has created on Rally. It even has a logo that seems professionally designed, and yes, a clarion call to help defend conservatives.

That hashtag, #TGDN, stands for the "Twitter Gulag Defense Network." Please.

It's difficult to take this seriously until you look at the series of tweets he spewed out last night and then again this morning. I might be able to believe the first series was simply drunk tweets if they didn't continue on through morning and afternoon today.

No, what Kincannon seems to be doing is being intentionally inflammatory in order to get himself suspended so he can rally the Breitbots and Tea Partiers to his defense. Of course, sympathy is always nice but money is better, so he's got the convenient fundraising page ready for the hellraising to begin.

The better hashtag for Kincannon's project would be #TFD, or Trolling For Dollars.

F.A.I.R. Imus has a long history of racism but the parade of media luminaries who have appeared on his show have rarely raised questions about the show's bigotry.  And explain this to me, why do UNITED STATES SENATORS appear on this daily slimathon?  Should we really be surprised at this latest symptom of the breakdown of civilized discourse when the Bush Crime Family, their right wing spear carriers, and the MSM routinely accuse other citizens of treason for merely criticizing elected public officials?

Martini Republic: An even more serious crisis looms in Iraq as tens of thousands take to the streets to protest US occupation

Hitchens and the War on Christmas

A picture named HItchens-Christmas.jpgHitchens and the War on Christmas

On Scarborough Country, there was the new fade that will likely be a staple segment every year on 24/7 during the holiday season. The War on Christmas. Hitchens is always a hoot to watch when he takes on the these "war on Christmas" nuts. (You know how I feel about Chris and his pro-neocon views) The manufactured crisis that helps to line "pockets of gold" for those who scream loud enough during their fund raising drives. Falwell has devised a new angle called, "Friend or Foe Christmas campaign."

Joe had a minion of Jerry Falwell on from the Liberty Counsel, named Mathew Staver.

A few highlights: (Full transcript)

Scarborough: Hold on. Guys, stop. God bless us all. Just stop and let's have a meaningful conversation.

Hitchens: Don't invite me on and tell me to keep quiet. Don't do that.

Scarborough: Well, Christopher, why don't you let other people talk for a second, OK?

Hitchens: I came here to talk, not to listen to you. You invited me on for my opinions, not to listen to yours.

Scarborough: OK. Well, you know what, Christopher? I will never make that mistake again.

Hitchens: This guy from Lynchburg defines progress as teaching junk science to our children, and leaving us the mockery of the world by pretending that we did not evolve.

Hitchens: That's progress to him. And he's a front man—and he's a front man—and he's a front man—and he's a front man for the fat-faced reverend... Hitchens: ... who applauded the destruction of the World Trade Center---Front man Falwell. Hitchens: Falwell said the World Trade Center was brought down by God.

Joe, gives a sermon at the end of the clip: "We can talk about-I mean, we ought to be able to talk about this like adults, instead of having this rudeness, which, I got to tell you, I mean, my mom didn't raise me that way. My dad didn't raise me that way. I can't understand people who behave that way. But I am very sorry it happened tonight. And it doesn't usually happen in SCARBOROUGH COUNTRY. When I first started this show, it happened once in a while. I didn't control things as well as I should have. And I apologize to you for that. But it's just not going to happen on my show tonight. It's not going to happen in the future. And I'm sorry for what you just saw....

Young Republicans 'get party started.
"The group's fund raising has generated some scrutiny, with reports showing that a portion of the money was received from elderly donors who were pursued with misleading appeals."

Delay kept up the hype: "The trend isn't just about liberal rhetoric, it's about a disturbing liberal psychology," DeLay said. "A bizarre, knee-jerk reflex to assume the world's worst problems are America's fault." DeLay also defended White House adviser Karl Rove, who came under fire for a New York speech he made Wednesday in which he accused "liberals" of wanting to "offer therapy and understanding for our attackers" after the Sept. 11, 2001, strikes. DeLay said: "That is not slander, that is the truth."

--------------

Another prominent Republican called liberals "traitors" and "insane." It's time to mobilize. Who wants to make "Traitor" T-shirts? This is the way we attack. Rove has started this campaign to divide the country again and cut off any criticism from Democrats. The cry of media bias from Hugh Hewitt has begun which of course is a good sign and the standard fall back position of the White House apologists.

The other defense is "why didn't democrats call for Durbin to apologize" doesn't wash either because he didn't do anything to apologize for. Another position that the WHA's and the White House are taking is that Rove was only talking about the Moveon.org version of liberalism. As John states: "There was no mention of 'some liberals,' or 'some Democrats,' and for good measure he threw in Drubin and Dean, just in case we didn't make the not-so-subtle connection." Again all you have to do is read the entire speech. We can't just demand the W.H. to fire Rove. That will never happen. We need to keep the focus on what he said and drive it home like a stake through the heart of the Vampire that he is.
