This is it. Finally, the Official Crooks and Liars Top 100 Stand-up Comedians of all time. Let's face it, whether you're David Letterman or Oskar Schindler, everyone loves lists. While highly subjective, this list has been scientifically vetted by recently deceased members of the Friar's Club for accuracy and fairness. There is no wiggle room. This is the official list. Anyone thinking otherwise is of course in error but can explain their massive feelings in the comments section. (Please remember to keep all comments to ten words or less so more can vent.)

Why do they always attack Italians like this?

I think we need an "Italian League."
OK, I'm only kidding, but this is what the right wing constantly does. Complain, complain, complain. Claim bias when there is none. Kathy Griffin makes a Jesus joke and the William Donohue's springs into action. Pretty soon all comedians will be targeted. Drudge lined up Chris Rock right before he hosted the Oscars a few years ago. Sigh...I think MadTV does a great job with these bits.

It's Oscar time and now that Jon Stewart has been tapped as the host I wonder how long it will take for the smear machine to begin. Remember Drudge's lame attempt at attacking Chris Rock because of his comedy routine?

Jim writes in that: "Stuart Varney had a guest on to discuss Jon Stewart hosting the Academy Awards. They labeled him a bomb thrower and questioned the decision to make him the host."

If something happens to Jon, then my next choice would be Bob Knight from the Culture and Family Institute, which is really "Concerned Women for America." You remember Bob, don't you? He debated Sam Seder about the War on Christmas. I think he could really balance out the Hollyweird mentality while showcasing the great-Tom Delay-kind of Christian values on a world wide level.

Did I tell you Some fool would distort Franken's humor

This was a very easy prediction to make. Media Research Center, you know Brent Bozell's group has started a new website aimed at exposing liberal bias. All comedians beware or NewsBusters will get you. The "Eggman" Drudge, links to them as if Franken made the the remark in a serious debate. I should have figured Drudge and Bozell would be the culprits. The headline says: AL FRANKEN SAYS ROVE, LIBBY, BUSH FACE EXECUTION... Drudge should have learned how futile he was when he tried to smear Chris Rock.

Matt Drudge appeared on the Hannity and Colmes show with his torch a' burning for Chris Rock. (This is only part of the interview.)

He objected to Rock's particular sense of humor for making jokes about Bush, abortion, and gays, and while calling it humor also cited it as social commentary.( Isn't that humor?)

Hannity: Did you talk to Chris Rock for this story. Did you get in touch with him?

Drudge: No, because there's simply enough out there.

When Colmes asked him if he was using his website to try and get Rock removed:

Drudge: Oh, I don't know....

Colmes: ..do you have an agenda?

Drudge: No, I don't...I..I..I...

There's a lot in this interview that I'm not commenting on. What's appalling is Drudge taking Rock's statements out of context. This is clearly an orchestrated move. I only hope that the Oscar's and Rock don't cave in to the pressure that he and his followers will try and apply.

Drudge has a new target, Chris Rock. He is reporting that Rock is in trouble for some remarks he made in an interview with EW.

I'll have more on it later, with some video on his witch hunt appearance on Hannity and Colmes.

I just talked to the P.R. department of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and they said Chris Rock will definetly host the Oscars. They also said that they had no knowledge of any members complaining about Chris Rock as the host of the show(which has been reported by Drudge) and are excited to have him do their telecast. Call 310-247-3000, if you want to show support for Chris Rock. They are already getting negative calls about him as the RWNM is busy at work. Kudos to the Academy for not backing down.

"A lot of people like to bash Bush. I'm not gonna bash Bush here tonight. I saw Fahrenheit 9/11, I think Bush is a genius. I thought Bush did some things this year, you, nobody in this room could do. Nobody in this room could pull off ok? Cause Bush basically reapplied for his job this year. Now can you imagine applying for a job, and while you're applying for that job, there is a movie in every theater in the country that shows how much you suck at that job?" transcript
