The 'Hillary Papers' Is The Latest Bogus Republican Hyped Story Of Doom

Republicans are salivating at the idea of using Hillary Clinton's old friend's journals dubbed the Hillary papers against her, but do they really hold anything of value?

Apparently the Washington Free Beacon uncovered the sacred and holy Hillary Papers, which were thought to only be a myth, on par next to the Holy Grail. It was rumored that if you were evil at heart, you would be given life immortal and if you were kind and generous, then your eyes were burned out in their sockets. This has many Republicans salivating, including RNC chairman Reince Priebus.

Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus said Monday that when it comes to Hillary Clinton, Republicans will have a “truckload” of material to use against her, and it’s all fair game. Priebus said recent, repeated comments from Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) bringing up President Bill Clinton’s affair with Monica Lewinsky as a critique of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are legitimate.

“I think everything’s on the table,” Priebus said on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports” on Monday. “I think we’re going to have a truckload of opposition research on Hillary Clinton, and some things may be old, and some things might be new. But I think everything is at stake when you’re talking about the leader of the free world.”

---

“I think it’s important. It illustrates that Hillary Clinton was for single payer for a long time,” Priebus said. “Hillary Clinton will present many opposition research opportunities for us to set the record straight on what she believes and what her history is on a lot of topics.”

Wow, Hillary was for single payer. Now that's a career killer right there.
It would have been nice if Tal Koplan had gone over some of the points contained in the Hillary Papers, but he might not have had the assignment, but Sean Sullivan of the Washington Post did and guess what?

There's no there, there.

The report zeroes in on Hillary Clinton's time as first lady and Bill Clinton's tenure as president, all through the lens of Blair. Here's a look at the four things from the piece that you are likeliest to hear about again in the future — either anecdotally in other stories or as part of GOP criticism of the likely 2016 White House hopeful:

1. Single-payer health-care talk Alana Goodman reports that Blair wrote that Hillary Clinton vouched for a single payer health-care system during a family dinner in 1993. Clinton has said she never seriously thought about a single payer system. A dinner discussion is hardly evidence that she did — but look for Republicans to make hay about it nonetheless.

2. Monica Lewinsky as a "narcissistic loony toon"Blair recalled Hillary Clinton defending her husband in the wake of the revelation that he had an affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky, according to Goodman's account. Hillary Clinton was also critical of Lewinsky, whom she called a "narcissistic loony toon" in a call with Blair

3. Richard Arnold Goodman writes that Hillary Clinton argued that passing over Arkansas Judge Richard Arnold for the Supreme Court, according to Blair, could send a message to his ally, Walter Hussman Jr. Hussman published the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, a paper that had run unfavorable reports about the Clintons

4. "Big egos and no brains"Hillary Clinton's opinion of the media was not great, according to Blair's account in the 1993

And those were the high points.

They really are going to try this on. They are going to go back for one more extended lap on the Endless Penis Chase. Fetch, Reince. Good dog.
