You can put Dan Senor's name right up there along with Dick Cheney and Bloody Bill Kristol as one of the last people on the face of the planet that I want to hear giving advice on how we're supposed to clean up the mess they made by invading Iraq in the first place.

Fox's Maria Bartiromo asked Senor to share his "unique perspective" as the spokesperson for the Coalition Provisional Authority under Bush. It was "unique" alright. Unique in its awfulness, as Rachel Maddow reminded us a couple of years ago "Dan Senor was the guy in charge of telling everybody that the Iraq war was awesome throughout 2003 and 2004." Rachel explained why Senor and his ilk should not be welcomed to any debate involving foreign policy last year, but it's obvious no one at her network or any of the rest of them is listening.

Now, not only is being Bush's chief spokes-liar in Iraq not something that should get you banished from ever making another television appearance for the rest of your life, it's something they're touting as an asset on Faux "news."

Dan Senor, author of “Start-up Nation: The Story of Israel's Economic Miracle” and former spokesman for the Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq, was on “Sunday Morning Futures” this morning.

If ISIS persists, Senor said, “We are on the cusp of watching a human catastrophe.”

Senor told Maria Bartiromo that while he supports the U.S. airstrikes over Iraq, he is not sure they will be sufficient. At some point, he said we will need a combination of air power, intelligence on the ground, and the training and arming of local forces.

“If we don’t set ISIS back, you are gonna have this huge, ungovernable space on the Iraqi-Syrian border that will be ungovernable and ungoverned and basically in the hands of radical Islamic extremists,” he said, likening the area to Afghanistan pre-9/11, but adding that the Iraq-Syria border is more strategically valuable territory.

“Iraq is now a country that has perplexed three presidents, including this one,” he said.
