More Than One Million Gather In Paris For Unity Rally

This is how you make sure the terrorists don't win -- getting out in the streets.

This is really powerful. Over one million people, including world leaders, standing up against those whose preferred weapon is death, destruction and hate. That's the scene in Paris today.

BBC News:

More than a million people have taken part in a unity march in Paris, after 17 people were killed during three days of deadly attacks in France's capital.

The government has described it as the largest march in the country's history.

More than 40 world leaders joined the start of the march, linking arms in an act of solidarity.

The marchers wanted to demonstrate unity after the attacks on satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, police officers, and a kosher supermarket.

"Paris is the capital of the world today," French leader Francois Hollande said.

I thought this was an interesting and quite symbolic demonstration of solidarity, too.

World leaders, including British Prime Minister David Cameron, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Malian President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita, EU President Donald Tusk, and Jordan's King Abdullah II joined the beginning of the Paris march.
