Bill O'Reilly's Next Book: Killing Truth

With mounting evidence of exaggeration, fabrication, and outright lies, Billo and Fox have settled on their stock excuse.

This cartoon is a perfect depiction of Bill O'Reilly's current and future reputation. If this book were written, it might be the only one that has an accurate title.

Since Mother Jones broke the original story about O'Reilly's Falklands War exaggeration, stories are rolling out every day.

On Friday, the Washington Post reported that Billo's claims to have seen terrorist acts in Northern Ireland wasn't exactly true.

On Thursday, we discovered his claims to have been right smack-dab in the center of the LA riots was not true.

On Wednesday, it was his exaggeration about witnessing the murder of nuns in El Salvador.

Tuesday's story concerned the JFK assassination and his claim that he was present when George de Mohrenschildt killed himself.

It's just been a week where the hits keep on coming. Rather than bluster about each one, Fox News has decided on a stock excuse to use whenever new stories roll out.

You got the preview with the Guatemalan nuns story, where O'Reilly and Fox "clarified" the story by saying it was just pictures he saw. He wasn't there, it was just that he saw pictures.

That's also the one they're using for Northern Ireland.

Asked about O’Reilly’s statements Friday, a Fox News spokesman said that O’Reilly was not an eyewitness to any bombings or injuries in Northern Ireland. Instead, he was shown photos of bombings by Protestant police officers.

Expect this on any future stories where O'Reilly puts a shiv right through the heart of the truth. They'll simply tell us he didn't mean to say he was there, but he just saw pictures and that's all he needed to tell the story.

It's probably a good idea for Billo to sign the book contract for Killing Truth now, and plan on publishing it as his swan song.

*I'm not saying this is a real book, but I did see a picture of it and believed in it.
