Keith Ablow, that scion of psychoanalytic genius, has decided it's President Obama who wants to weaken United States leadership.

Because an utter failure to govern on the part of Republicans could certainly not be viewed as a weakening agent to this country, right?

KEITH ABLOW: But this started when Barack Obama didn't leave a presence in Iraq, made critical decisions of the wrong kind. And I am tired of hearing actually very intelligent guys -- Newt Gingrich, genius, right? We could have had him as president. Unbelievable that we didn't compared to this guy.

They never, ever acknowledge that Obama was honoring the Status of Forces agreement George W. Bush signed. Why doesn't that surprise me?

ABLOW: Exactly. But, you know, here's the thing. It's not that the president has failed. I believe the president wants American leadership to decline. I believe he wants our influence in retreat. He hasn't failed. He's succeeded. Why can't people wake up and understand that the president doesn't want American influence in these nations? So the rise of influence of the Soviets and others is what he had in his heart right along.

If influence is what we wanted, the very last thing on earth we should have done was invade Iraq. People don't really respond to that kind of influence. We invaded a nation, killed hundreds of thousands of people, made sure life sucked for the rest of them, and then left, all under George W. Bush's "leadership."

But Ablow worries about Obama?
