Reports: Scores Dead After Possible Terrorist Attack In Paris (Update #3)
Reports indicate multiple gunmen in different venues.
News is still coming in, but from the early reports it looks like there may have been coordinated terrorist attacks at multiple locations in Paris, causing at least 18 deaths.
BBC:
At least one man opened fire with an automatic gun at the Petit Cambodge restaurant in the 11th district.
Liberation newspaper reports four deaths. It also reports shootings near the Bataclan arts centre.
Three explosions are also reported outside a bar near the Stade de France, where France were hosting Germany.
Reports say French President Francois Hollande was watching the match and has been moved to safety.
A BBC journalist at the Petit Cambodge restaurant says he can see 10 people on the road either dead or seriously injured.
Update:
Reports indicate a hostage situation is in progress, too.
From Jeff Sharlet, author of "C Street",
He is being advised to stay where he is, because there are reports of active shooters in the streets.
Here's the Vine from the stadium, where you can hear the explosion very clearly.
Update #2:
President Obama gave a statement from the White House just a few moments ago, expressing solidarity with France. He refused to name any groups he thought might be responsible for the attacks, but promised any and all assistance France may need.
Meanwhile, France has closed their borders and essentially put the entire country on lockdown until they stabilize the situation. The death toll is rising steadily now. It has leaped from 18 to at least 40 dead, 60 wounded as of 3:10 pm PST.
The band playing in the concert hall where hostages have been taken is an American band from Palm Desert, California called Eagles of Death Metal. MSNBC is reporting that some hostages taken there have been shot, one by one, but those reports are unconfirmed at this time.

Update 3:
