Fox News Suspends Two Pundits For 'Inappropriate' On-Air Language

Who do they think they are, Erick Erickson?

Earlier today C&L, MMFA and many others posted stories on the profane type language that two Fox News pundits used in attacking president Obama's speech. It was a shocking display of unprofessionalism that is seeping into the heated 2016 GOP primaries.

At the end of September, I wrote a harsh post against the NRO's Rich Lowry, who went ballistic on Megyn Kelly's show when he said that Carly Fiorina had cut Donald Trump's 'Balls Off Like A Surgeon.'

I called for him being suspended:

The National Review will need to have a talk with one of their senior people immediately. Lowry has been anti-Trump all along, but he just lost the high ground in this dispute very quickly and needs to be suspended by the beltway media punditocracy for a while. He's been a guest on Meet The Press and all the other Sunday shows repeatedly.

Nothing happened to Lowry, but today Fox News took action against its two pundits.

CNN's Brian Stelter reported today that the two commentators "were suspended on Monday for using profanities while criticizing President Obama on Monday":

"Earlier today, Fox contributors Lt. Col. Ralph Peters and Stacey Dash made comments on different programs that were completely inappropriate and unacceptable for our air," Fox senior executive vice president Bill Shine said.

"Fox Business Network and Fox News Channel do not condone the use of such language, and have suspended both Peters and Dash for two weeks," he said.

CNN noted that "Media Matters, a liberal anti-Fox monitoring organization, almost immediately flagged the Peters profanity, which caused it to get widespread attention on the web on Monday."

Fox News host Howard Kurtz, who hosts the weekend media analysis program MediaBuzz, criticized Peters and Dash for their "crude language on the air," calling their conduct "embarrassing."

Let's hope this stems the tide of insane rhetoric being hurled by conservative pundits.
