Jeb Bush stopped just short of proclaiming himself a "uniter" in this moment of derp.

In an interview scheduled to air on NPR Thursday morning, Bush dumped Trump in Obama's lap. “I would argue that Donald Trump is, in fact, a creature of Barack Obama,” he sneered.

Bush continued, “But for Barack Obama, Donald Trump’s effect would not be nearly as strong as it is. We’re living in a divided country right now, and we need political leaders rather than continuing to divide as both President Obama and Donald Trump, to unite us."

They keep calling him the smart one, as if we can't reach back into our collective memories to figure out where the divisions come from. But in case Jeb really doesn't bother to read newspapers or magazines or even online news outlets, perhaps Frank Luntz could schedule a meeting with the Jebster and offer him some insight into the division that exists in this country.

“The phenomenon of ‘The Donald’ is rooted in a psyche far deeper and more consequential than next November’s presidential election. ... These individuals do not like being told by Washington or Wall Street what is best for them, ... and disdain President Barack Obama and his (perceived) circle of self-righteous, tone-deaf governing partisans. Trump voters are not just angry — they want revenge.”

Or perhaps he should just listen to their own words. These two are Cruz voters, but their attitudes all come from the same place.

And finally, perhaps Jeb should reflect upon the deep, dark divisions within his own party and ask himself whether that's Obama's fault or theirs.

Maybe he's just too stupid to figure any of it out. But we can.
