San Bernardino Shooting Update: 2 Suspects Dead
Two suspects are dead, but there's at least one more out there, according to police.
Here's what we know right now about the San Bernardino shooting.
Acting on a tip, police went to a home in Redlands. While there, getting ready to stage, a black SUV with Utah plates drove by and then took off. Police pursued, the suspects shot at them from the back of the SUV, and the pursuit ended with both suspects dead.
According to the San Bernardino police chief, the dead suspects were a male and a female, dressed in "assault-style clothing," both armed with assault weapons and handguns.
They've also determined that at least one device in the building where the shooting took place is an explosive device, so they're taking extra precautions to clear that building. It's also possible that the SUV has explosive devices, so they are taking extra caution there, too.
Meanwhile, media seems to be reporting that this whole thing is basically just a dispute that began at a Christmas party.
While it's true that they shot up a holiday party taking place in the building in a large conference room, there's absolutely no evidence suggesting it was related to some kind of contemporaneous dispute. In fact, that party was for an outside health provider whose name is undisclosed at this time.
Even though the FBI is unwilling to call it domestic terrorism, it carries all of the hallmarks.
I'll update this post with more information as I have it.
