Hugh Hewitt Believes Rick Santorum Endorsement Will Be Huuuge! UPDATED

And yet, he's still a celebrated conservative commentator.

As the sun passes over the sky and turns from day to night, so is it true that Hugh Hewitt will say or write something so idiotic that it deserves its own special place in the "punditry ring of hell."

Rick Santorum's overall polling numbers were at 0.04%, ladies and gentlemen before he threw in the towel. But Hewitt is in the in-crowd now, so the beltway media hangs on his every word and tweet.

Although Red State was perplexed that there was a possibility that the Man on Dog would endorse Trump, in fact, he endorsed Marco Rubio instead.

And the world shuddered because nobody cared.

UPDATE: Santorum's endorsement did have an effect on Rubio. It made him look weaker.

The Morning Joe crew attempted to find a single accomplishment that Marco Rubio has achieved in the U.S. Senate that would prompt Rick Santorum to endorse the Junior Florida Senator. This was not an easy answer, in fact, it sounded like the hardest questions ever posed to Santorum. He struggled with the answer, lending excuse after excuse to Senator Rubio for not having any noteworthy accomplishments he could list.

BRZEZINSKI: "Jeb Bush ran Florida. Donald Trump built a company. Marco Rubio... Finish the sentence."

SANTORUM: Ok, Marco Rubio was number one the Speaker of the Florida House, which is something that isn't a minor deal, he was elected by his colleagues to be the Speaker of the House,

SCARBOROUGH: Right

SANTORUM: Number two, he spent four years in the United States Senate being frustrated like everybody else that nothing got done, and then you can't point to him and say 'nothing got done, 'and therefore he has no accomplishments.

BRZENZSKI: Maybe he was for something?

SANTORUM: The problem is we have a president who doesn't work with people. and you got no cooperation at all. This is a bogus argument, you've got a completely feckless Congress...
