Tim Robbins' Sanders Intro: 'Winning South Carolina Is Like Winning Guam' (Update 2)

During his introduction, Robbins let the pundits have it.

Actor Tim Robbins blasted assumptions about Hillary Clinton's electability during his introduction of Bernie Sanders at a rally in Wisconsin this afternoon.

"After the Southern primaries, you* had called the election. And who's fooling who? Winning South Carolina in the Democratic primary is about as significant as winning Guam," he said.

He added, "No Democrat is going to win in South Carolina in the general election."

*(Because the clip is so short, there is not any context about the "you" Robbins is referring to. It could be the pundits, or it could be the Clinton campaign. When I have more information or a fuller transcript, I will update the post)

Update 1: The Hill's summary of the event suggests that the target was either the Democratic Party or the pundits.

"We've all been fed a steady stream of simplistic propaganda that furthers the establishment's narrative that Hillary's the presumptive nominee," Robbins said during a rally in Green Bay.

"And if we were sheep, if we had gotten in line, there'd be no problem now," he continued, saying "establishment figures would get elected" and figures like Sanders would be "marginalized."

"Times have changed," Robbins said. "We are done with compromising our ideals."
