C&L's Sat Nite Chiller Theater Presents: 'Saturn 3' (1980)

A crazy Harvey Keitel and his robot battles Kirk Douglas for the affections of Farah Fawcett in outer space

What could be better for a hot Saturday night than watching a little 1980's schlock science fiction?

Two lovers stationed at a remote base in the asteroid fields of Saturn are intruded upon by a retentive technocrat from Earth and his charge: a malevolent 8-ft robot. Remember, in space no one can hear you scream.

How bad was this movie?

Roger Ebert writes:

And, all right, then: How dumb is "Saturn 3"? 1 will give you an example. The movie's about Kirk Douglas and Farrah Fawcett, who are the only two crew members on Saturn 3, a space research station near Saturn. They have a visitor, who is supposed to be a Captain James, but is really the evil Benson (Harvey Keitel) who has killed James and replaced him for reasons of his own. Benson has brought along a robot named Hector. And, toward the end of the movie, Hector is chasing Kirk and Farrah.

This movie is awesomely stupid, totally implausible from a scientific viewpoint, and a shameful waste of money.

Now I know you really want to see it now!
