Chris Christie 'Prosecutes' Hillary Clinton, Whips Crowd Into Frenzy
Christie's speech at the Republican National Convention was a true exercise in irresponsible demagoguery.
Tuesday's session of the Republican National Convention was supposed to be about jobs, but instead it was about Hillary Clinton, Benghazi, and yes, even Bill Clinton.
In other words, it was "BURN THE WITCH" night, and there was no moment that shone that message brightly than Chris Christie's bizarro "prosecution" of Hillary Clinton in his speech at the convention.
By the end, he had them shouting to throw her in jail, burn the witch, and all sorts of other ridiculous things.
Tom Nichols, a conservative who actually sees the danger Trump poses, tweeted this:
I detest Clinton, but this Christie-led Salem witch trial stuff, with the villagers yelling "GUILTY," is just creepy. #RNCinCLE

And these reactions:
@Karoli He's promised to jail Clinton if he gets to WH. Like Turkey, Egypt etc. jail political opponents, judges, writers, journalists.

Most reckless prevarication and provocation from a major elected official yet. https://t.co/HNBpsHyRQk

And finally, this:
If you think Chris Christie can lecture anyone on ethics, we have a bridge to sell you. https://t.co/c1nkZojJFL #RNCinCLE
