The carousel of Republicans trying to get the nod to be Donald's vice president is shaping up to three so far.

NBC News learned that Indiana Gov. Mike Pence is being vetted for the job.

Today the Pence campaign confirmed the meeting publicly telling NBC News, "Gov. Pence has accepted an invitation to spend a little time with Mr. Trump this weekend. That is consistent with meetings that Mr. Trump is holding with many key party leaders."

And yesterday The Washington Post and NY Times announced that Newt Gingrich and Chris Christie were also being formally vetted for the gig as well.

In choosing either Christie and Gingrich, Trump would satisfy his desire for someone with political experience who could help him advance his legislative agenda through Congress.

The New York Times was first to report Christie's vetting. The Washington Post reported Thursday evening that Gingrich was also being vetted, with Sens. Jeff Sessions, R-Alabama, and Bob Corker, R-Tennessee, also emerging as final contenders, but a source very close to the campaign said the Post's report was inaccurate. The source added, however, that a surprise choice could also be in store.

At first I thought Christie's bullying persona was too much like Trump to be seriously considered even though he's sunk as low as fetching Trump' McDonald's orders, but maybe that's appealing to Donald.

He would be better served by having someone who can help him win a state, but Newtie likes the ladies as much as Donald does so...
