Pres. Obama Burns GOP With Trump While Stumping With Clinton
In his first appearance with presumptive nominee Hillary Clinton, President Obama went off-script to burn Republicans with Trump
President Obama hit the campaign trail for Hillary Clinton in Charlotte, North Carolina today with a hard-hitting speech that took out Trump and the Republicans in one fell swoop.
At one point, he went off-script in order to put an exclamation point on his remarks, speaking to economic concerns which drove much of the primary season.
"If your concern is working people, then this is not a choice," Obama warned. "I don't care whether you're white, Black, Hispanic, Native American, polka dot, male, female...If what you care is who's going to be fighting for ordinary folks who are fighting for a better life for themselves and their children, then I don't know how you vote for the guy who's against a minimum wage, against unions, against making sure that everyone gets a fair shot, against legislation for equal pay, against sick leave and family leave, against all the things that working families care about."
Putting an exclamation point on that, he said, "So if you're voting for the other team, it's not because of the economy."
He went on to mock all the Republican squishes out there who are stuck with Trump as their nominee, and who are offering half-hearted support, while holding their noses.
"Even the Republicans on the other side don't really know what [Trump's] talking about. They really don't," he mocked. "You ask them, they're all like, 'I don't know,' and then they kind of duck the other way. Am I joking? No."
There were some other memorable moments in their joint campaign appearance. Yes, Sasha tweets. No, we don't know what account she uses to tweet. And I'm guessing it's not Twitter as much as Snapchat, because the young folks don't really use Twitter that much.
There were many tweet references in both of their speeches. Obama drove the point home later in his speech when he said, "Everybody can tweet, but nobody knows the job until you're sitting at the desk." He didn't even mention the anti-Semitic cesspool his Mystery Tweeter lives in, either, but of course, we all know.
Then there was this one, during Hillary's introduction of the President:
"The president has never forgotten where he came from. And @realDonaldTrump if you are tweeting, it's Hawaii." - @HillaryClinton

This line was good too:
LOL -- Obama "knows a thing or two about winning elections. Take it from me!" -- Clinton

And if you're into "optics," then I'm partial to this one:
The presidential seal looks good with that outfit ;) pic.twitter.com/0NAqstTYRh

(Yeah, I meant 'seal' but I was tweeting from my phone, so I missed the "l" at the end. LOL)
It was the first salvo in a long campaign, but judging from the energy and enthusiasm of that Charlotte crowd, Democrats have just begun to fight.
