RNC's Reince Priebus' Terribly Horrible Jake Tapper Interview

Reince Priebus was so shell shocked during the interview he mixed up Paul Ryan with Mike Pence.

CNN's Jake Tapper, host of State of the Union on Sunday mornings, grilled RNC chief Reince Priebus into submission on a host of topics this morning.

Priebus denied the reports that Trump was waffling on Pence as his pick denying Dana Bash's report and downplayed it as a media bad sourcing game...

After Tapper told him that Trump went on Fox and said he hadn't decided yet, Priebus replied, "Because he wanted to keep people guessing. He wanted to make it more suspenseful."

OK, sure. How'd that work out for him?

And then Tapper started off by pinning Priebus to Donald Trump's original "Muslim ban" proclamation and that flummoxed him into saying Donald had evolved into only a temporary ban on Muslims who come from countries involved in terrorism.

"There's no religious test on the table," he said.

Tapper replied, "That's your interpretation, that's not his interpretation."

Then Tapper switched gears and plunged into the many policy differences Gov. Mike Pence has with his boss, Donald Trump.

Tapper asked, "Is this a ticket that would have supported the Iraq war or not?"

Reince's response was mind boggling . He said, "You'd have to ask them."

WHAT? The head of the RNC has no idea how their ticket actually feels on the Iraq war?

Then he switched into campaign mode and said Trump is maturing as a candidate by putting someone on the ticket who doesn't agree with him on everything.

Tapper brought up their big differences on the TPP, which couldn't be wider since Trump called it "rape," and Pence simply loves it.

For some inexplicable reason, Priebus said he got confused and thought the CNN host was discussing Speaker Paul Ryan's positions instead of Mike Pence.

Huh?

It was that kind of interview.
