Paul Manafort Promotes Trump's 'Rigged Election' Conspiracy Theory
Paul Manafort defended Trump's cockamamie claim that the general election will be rigged.
Donald Trump recently began promoting a conspiracy that he and Roger Stone cooked up that claims the November election is already rigged against him.
President Obama responded to Trump's claim by saying that's "ridiculous!"
"I don't even really know where to start on answering this question. Of course the elections will not be rigged."
This morning on Fox News' America's Newsroom, Trump's campaign chief Paul Manafort responded to President Obama by doubling down on "rigged election" myth.
Manafort, who speaks with the monotone voice of a man who once tortured animals said, “For someone whose career got jumpstarted by the Chicago machine I was surprised to hear him say that."
He continued, "Frankly we think that the situation in the country, just like with the DNC’s primaries, is a situation where if you rely on the Justice Department to ensure the security of elections, we have to be worried."
Really, Paul? The DNC didn't rig the primaries no matter how many times you and your boss say it did.
Repeating a lie does not magically change it into the truth.
After the secret Iran tapes debacle, I hope Trump is learning that lesson.
Well, not really!
