Gov Chris Christie: Bridgegate 'Was A Factor' In Not Becoming Trump's Running Mate
Gov. Christie couldn't hide the fact that he's getting some fallout from the Bridgegate scandal.
Gov. Chris Christie admitted to MSNBC Wednesday night, that the Bridgegate scandal he's been caught up in for the last few years was a deciding factor that caused Donald Trump not to pick him as his running mate.
After Gov. Christie gave a bizarre defense of Trump's affection for Vladimir Putin, by saying he knows "how to hear him," MSNBC host Brian Williams turned to the Bridgegate scandal that's still far from over.
Brian asked, "How much of a factor do you believe the trouble with the Bridgegate was a factor in you not getting picked for vice president?
Christie replied, "I'm sure it was a factor."
"How big?"
"You would have to ask him, but I'm sure it was a factor."
At this moment, prosecutors and defense attorneys are in the process of picking a jury for the upcoming trial.
Christie said he was not worried about anything criminal being tied to him since he's being investigated by Democrats.
"I have been investigated by everybody for the last three years including by this network, and nobody has ever been able to prove that I knew anything or had any role in this."
He also said he wasn't promised a job in a possible Trump administration so maybe he just loves to fetch Donald's McDonald's orders?
However, it was discovered that one of his staffers sent a text calling the governor a liar:
In the message, sent during a press conference Christie gave on the topic of the bridge closures in December 2013, Christina Genovese Renna, identified in court documents as Christina Genovese, told a campaign staffer that Christie "flat out lied" about his staff's involvement in the scandal.
As a former prosecutor, it's not a surprise that Christie knew how to completely cover up his tracks.
But during the RNC convention, Christie went full judge, jury, and executioner to lead the chant to lock up Hillary Clinton. Yes, THAT Hillary Clinton, who has been found innocent of any wrongdoings by the FBI and investigated by eight Republican witch hunts, I mean hearings which have cost taxpayers tens of millions of dollars with no results.
