Joy Reid Slams Media For Obsessing On 'Clinton Optics'

Joy Reid, Joan Walsh, Krystal Ball, Fernand Amandi and Matt Welch convene to discuss the question of how media covers Clinton as opposed to Trump.

Joy-Ann Reid's wonderful panel discussion on the "optics" obsession media has with Hillary Clinton highlighted the way those "optics" obsessions have even steered media in the wrong direction.

It's a long clip, but includes the excellent compilation created by Media Matters showing how across all cable networks, the obsession with the appearance of a thing matters more than a thing.

I'm not going to break it down point by point, but for me, the moment when Krystal Ball interrupted an outbreak of an argument over her emails with some facts was a major one. I also appreciated Joan Walsh's remarks about how media approaches any story about Clinton as opposed to what they report on Trump.

That makes two segments on Sunday shows this morning dealing with what can only described as bias on the part of media. That's two more than we usually get!
