Morning Joe Slams Fox And Friends For Standing By As Trump Fat-Shamed Miss Universe

Joe Scarborough was shocked that Trump doubled down on attacking Alicia Machado while Mika was furious that the Fox and Friends hosts sat there like morons.

On today's MSNBC's Morning Joe, Joe and Mika took aim at Donald Trump and the hosts of Fox and Friends for letting Donald Trump spew more hatred at former Miss Universe winner Alicia Machado.

After Hillary Clinton went after Donald Trump during the first presidential debate Monday night for fat shaming the Latino woman who won Miss Universe, Trump phoned in to the hosts that love him the most, Fox and Friends, where he doubled down on his misogynistic ravings.

Trump has clearly decided that Fox is the only network he will appear on, or needs to. That says volumes about the scope of his campaign. He is circling the wagons around a loyal base, and no one in his organization or at Fox is willing to tell him that's not enough to win a general election. Too bad he can't ask Mitt Romney.

Both MSNBC hosts were dumbfounded by Trump's new remarks and the non-reactions from the Fox and Friends co-hosts. Scarborough said, "They looked uncomfortable to say the least."

Mika Brzezinski couldn't believe it. "That conversation went on and no one said to him, what? 'Excuse me? Did you just say what? Did you say she gained a lot of weight and that was a problem?"

She continued, "I've never seen a more awkward interview in my life."

Mika was visibly upset and said, "How can they not ask him — how could two men and a woman in this day and age, who know this world that we live in — not say, ‘That is incredibly inappropriate? Would you like to rephrase yourself?'”

Scarborough tried to cut in, but Mika kept going, "Are you saying that the fact that this woman gained weight is a problem? Did you just say that?"

Joe apparently didn't want too much bashing of Steve Doocey, Brian Kilmeade and Ainsley Earhart and said, "This is about Donald Trump and what's incredible, Mika, is this is about Donald Trump. Let's focus on Donald Trump."

He continued, "What's incredible about Donald Trump is the night before with something he did 20 years ago that was terrible, he then doubles down and says she was the worst contestant ever and she gained a lot of weight. That's just unbelievable. The day after a debate."

That's Donald Trump in a nutshell. He's a horrible human being, period. And the morons on Fox and Friends aren't any better.
