Shep Smith Calls Out Voter ID Laws For Disenfranchising Minority Voters

Shep Smith brings a touch of honesty to Fox News

On August 31st, Shep Smith make a brief and honest comment about the draconian voter ID laws that have been peddled by Republicans to disenfranchise minority voters.

On Wednesday, the Supreme Court ruled against NC Governor McCrory's plan to reinstate his voter ID scam.

After an appeals court ruled against McCrory's 2013 law in an earlier decision, he tried once again to pull the wool over the eyes of the voters, but failed with a 4-4 outcome.

Fox News' Shep Smith then quickly passed on an AP news report on the court's decision.

He said, “Just got an AP news alert out of the state North Carolina. US Supreme Court refuses to restore North Carolina's GOP backed Voter ID and its reduction of early voting days. North Carolina had put in one of those ‘You have to show an ID’ rules which so often in Republican states are designed to keep some minorities from being able to vote, and they tried to reduce the number of voting days. The US Supreme Court says that will not happen.”

Thank you, Shep for easily explaining what Voter ID laws are all about.

Of course, right-wing criticisms came out fast and furious for Conservatives for his honesty with tweets like this: ‘He is a LIEberal’

Repressing the vote has always been a Republican calling card, no matter how they dress it up with dishonest messengers like Kris Kobach, as well as accidentally honest messengers like Mike Turzai (from 2012):

The sooner the courts strike down all these stupid GOP generated Voter ID laws, the better.
