Reliable Sources? Kayleigh McEnany Gaslights, Accuses Clinton Of 'Issue-Free Campaign'

If there is an award for Liar of the Year, McEnany should win in the Trump surrogate category.

Trump surrogate Kayleigh McEnany has been one of the few Trump surrogates willing to defend anything he says or does, no matter how disgusting it is. She must have taken lessons from Betsy McCaughey, because her gaslighting abilities are epic.

Right out of the gate this morning on CNN's Reliable Sources, McEnany decided the best way to handle facts was to simply introduce...lies.

Brian Stelter began by asking about Trump's latest Tweetstorm where Trump attacked Republicans who had unendorsed or otherwise run from his candidacy.

"Do you think it's wise for him not to be in apology mode but to be on the offense on Twitter, supporting himself and criticizing his opponents," Stelter asked.

"I think it's important that he does what Mike Pence did, that he shows his heart to the American people, that he expresses contrition, he says he's a different person today, he explains that and then moves to the issues," McEnany replied.

She continued, "Focus group after focus group says voters care about the issues, they want to hear where these candidates stand, they don't want the open borders that Hillary Clinton professed before a Brazilian bank in the Wikileaks transcripts released."

"They want Donald Trump's vision of change. He wins on the issues. Hillary Clinton is running an issue-free campaign."

So many lies, so little time. The so-called speech to a Brazilian bank has been sullied with Roger Stone-like edits, including the one about the "bucket of losers," which was so blatant it was laughable, forcing Megyn Kelly to apologize on-air for quoting an obviously bogus statement. This is also your daily reminder that Wikileaks distributes malware with their document dumps, and no one can or will authenticate their "dump" as anything real, much less that ridiculous speech transcript.

The real lie from lyin' Kayleigh is the part about Hillary Clinton's issue-free campaign, which was corrected on some level in the part following her little rant, though not nearly to the extent it should have been.

Donald Trump has run his entire campaign on these "policies:"

  1. Build the wall
  2. Deport millions of immigrants inside the country now
  3. Law and order
  4. White lives matter

Those aren't policies. They're prejudices intended to feed the bigots who comprise the Republican party.

Hillary Clinton, on the other hand, has thousands upon thousands of pages of actual policies on her website. They're not hard to find, but Kayleigh is counting on voters choosing ignorance.

This is the other hallmark of the Trump campaign - cynicism. They truly believe they can gaslight everyone because they believe no one cares about actual policy ideas as much as they do personality. The problem here is that Trump's personality is being exposed as one particularly unsuited for the Presidency, and they cannot overcome itt.
