Fox News' Ralph Peters: 'Founders Didn’t Want Juiced-Up Psychos To Have Machine-Gun Collection'
A Fox News contributor tells Fox Business that more guns on the ground would have made the situation worse.
Col. Ralph Peters told FBN's Stuart Varney that an "armed crowd" at the concert in Las Vegas would have made things worse and "the founding fathers didn’t want every juiced-up psycho to have a machine-gun collection.”
This is a major departure for Fox News affiliated programs. Their staunch pro-second amendment advocacy borders on lunacy so to hear a pundit on TV attack an automatic weapon is a departure for them.
Host Stuart Varney and Peters discussed last night's tragedy with over 58 innocent people dead at this point and Peters admitted these "lone wolf" attacks are a real nightmare for America.
We've been writing on C&L for a long time that "domestic terrorism" has been as devastating as anything else we've seen, but conservative media attacked DHS' findings on far-right wing militia and guns in 2009, because it came too close to home for their liking.
You may also remember, on August 9th, then Trump adviser, Sebastian Gorka told MSNBC there was no such thing as a "lone wolf" and was a term President Obama made up. Thankfully this lunatic has been kicked to the curb.
Varney said these types of attacks are very hard to stop.
Varney said, "Some people say if there were more guns on the ground you can stop the shooting just as it starts, but that wouldn't have helped in this situation. The man was firing down into the crowd."
Peters said, "No."
Ralph told the FBN host that if the guy has no trail the authorities can follow it becomes very difficult to detect.
He continued, “The idea that an armed crowd, would have made a difference — if it made any difference it would have been worse."
Peters said, “I am a gun owner. I will always be a gun-owner. But the founding fathers didn’t want every juiced-up psycho to have a machine-gun collection.”
“We need to look at what kind of weapons they had. Clearly this guy had military-grade weapons and where he got them because automatic rifles are illegal for the average citizen to own.”
Peters said this guy had military grade weapons, but since America is awash with weapons it's not very hard these days to load up.
