Missouri Republican Voted To Allow 12 Year Old Girls To Be Married
It's okay for a man to rape a little girl, just don't buy Bud Light.
During a debate in the Missouri State legislature on Tuesday trying to ban gender affirming care for minors, Republican State Sen. Mike Moon was called out for advocating for child brides.
Democratic State Rep. Peter Meredith went on the offensive, blasting Moon for his unconscionable hypocrisy as well as support for the statutory rape of minors.
"I've heard you talk about parents' rights to raise their kids how they want," Meredith said. "In fact, I just double-checked, you voted no on making it illegal for kids to be married to adults at the age of 12, if their parents consented to it!"
"You said actually that should be the law because it's the parents right and the kids' right to decide what's best for them. To be raped by an adult!" Meredith said.
Moon responded but Meredith didn't hear him so he asked his bizarre question again.
"That was the law. You voted not to change it," Meredith shouted.
"Do you know any kids that were married age 12?" Moon asked.
(Who the f**k does?)
"I don't need to," replied Meredith.
"I do and guess what? They are still married," Moon said like Hannibal Lector roasting his next victim in his oven.
The Springfield News Ledger reported that in 2018, "Missouri passed a law raising the marriage age in the state from 15 to 16 and requiring parental permission for older teenagers to marry. Moon opposed the bill at the time — citing the same anecdote of a couple he met in college who had married one another at age 12."
This is one of the most insane discussions I've ever heard.
An actual elected official supporting the raping of a minor while claiming others are grooming children. Wow.
